Rally Vincent and Minnie-May Hopkins run a gunsmith shop in Chicago by the day...but they have a side-business as bounty hunters, and there are none better than they are. That’s rare for two girls in their late teens! But you can bet Kenichi Sonoda will make you want to believe it.
Puno nasilja, eksplozija, predivnih tehnickih crteza kola i oruzija i povremena golotinja.
This one’s pretty dark. We get more disturbing insight into Minnie May’s relationship and past. They age her up again in this volume, doesn’t make her past any less disturbing. (She’s probably inspired by Jodie Foster’s character in Taxi Driver.) We get some insight on failures that haunt Rally. There’s a big bad drug dealing lesbian dominatrix with a thing for mind control and kidnapping sex slaves. The stakes are high, Rally finally gets into serious law trouble that she can’t charm her way out of. Roy’s deeper connection to Rally is briefly mentioned. Rally is described as looking Indian which wow, awesome.
Cool getaway driver, Bean Bandit, pops up for a good chunk. People test his unbreakable professional driver rules. (Ha! What a character).
There’s a noticeably Huge decrease in gimmicky gun disarming hand shots by Rally this time around. Maybe she wants less Gray’s coming after her for getting limbs blown off? Sonoda mixes it up.
There’s a little comic strip at the end by Hideaki Anno poking fun at Sonoda.
It's like eating a bucket of wings. You can't stop until you're done, even if you know it'll be bad for you and you'll end up feeling dirty.
It's got very good art, very poor characterization (I don't know if it's the translation or the original material's fault) and some pretty disturbing ideas about sex.
The epic car chases and showdowns with the Mafia are great, but the back half of the omnibus is bogged down by Minnie May's awkward awkward love life and an absolutely absurd plot involving drugs, hypnotism, and a rapey dominatrix. What's good about the last volume is still good here, I just wish the authors kinks didn't get in the way.
Major improvement from the first volume. Biggest thing is made everyone older so all the sex is way less creepy. Better is there is more depth. More backstory, new arch bad gals, and LOTs of new guns. This is just a fun quick read.
Rally Vincent is so charming that I am willing to look past the shortcomings of this series. The action bits are great and the fan service stuff (and what seems to be the author’s weird kinks) is so ridiculously over the top it wraps back around to being funny.
Another fun entry in the series as Rally & Minnie-May deal with an old enemy trying to escape prison while a new one emerges with some very powerful drugs as a weapon. Kenichi Sonoda delivers some great action & knows his firearms (though the most unrealistic part of the series is that two girls could run a gun store in Chicago), along with some fun humor. However, the gratuitous nudity of the women in the book takes away what should be a an awesome action series starring two badass girls. Overall, still a fun action series though not quite a classic.
O to dvojka logicky přichází, navíc mi přijde už méně bláznivá a více hloupá.
