It's all good!: A Michael Berryman memoir... in my own words

Rate this book
MICHAEL BERRYMAN was born into a family unlike most, with a neurosurgeon father and a nurse mother. Growing up, he had to deal with physical ailments that were rare, making it hard to fit in with his peers. They brought him up with a strong Catholic faith and instilled in him the importance of remaining positive and optimistic in the face of adversity.

Still, Michael felt a sense of loneliness and isolation in his life. He was unable to make friends and felt like an outcast whenever he was around his peers. But little did he know, his unusual physical features would one day become his ticket to fame.

But then, something amazing happened. By chance encounter, Michael was noticed by legendary director George Pal, who needed someone to play a role in the movie "DOC SAVAGE". With his physical condition, Michael was the perfect pick, thus beginning his journey to stardom.

Michael soon found himself working alongside some of the biggest names in the horror industry and his performances spoke for themselves. He quickly became one of the most iconic horror actors of his generation, cementing his place in cinematic history. But ultimately, Michael hadn’t forgotten the people and the journey that made him the man he is.

Michael's story is one of perseverance, resilience, and embracing one's physical differences. It serves as a reminder that anything is possible with a positive attitude and that it can take just one moment for our lives to be changed forever.

Michael’s memoirs talk about his life from birth to fame, from his struggles with his physical ailments to his relationship with his parents, and the construction of his moral ethos through failure, rebirth, and ultimate success. Michael’s struggles and successes offer an inspiring story of grit and determination. Of how someone with a unique physical condition could rise to the very top, proving that anything is possible with firm belief and hard work.

Decades in the making, this self-published memoir is the book I always wanted to let into the world, in my own words."

Since I’m meeting Michael Berryman soon at a convention, I wanted to read this and learn more about him. Clearly self written, you can see his unique, positive outlook through everything, including describing dealing with some pretty awful-sounding medical procedures. A refreshing change from a polished, ghost-written memoir, you really feel like you’re hearing stories at the diner over a cup of coffee.

We can all learn something from people like Michael. His optimism is infectious and he’s proof that you just never know what life has in store. I’m a huge fan of his work, but this book made me a big fan of him too.

An inspiration

Michael Berryman has been my favorite actor ever since I first saw The Hills Have Eyes..I am happy I had the opportunity to read his book..his positivity with the hardships he faced is inspiring to me as I deal with my own medical issues.I highly recommend this to everyone whether you've seen his movies or not..he is truly an amazing man .and Pluto will always be my favorite movie character. It is most definitely all good.

This felt more like having a conversation with Michael Berryman than reading his story. Some of the best parts of this memoir were the moments where Michael gave the reader bits of encouragement and suggestions of getting out and enjoying the world when you can. It just made the book that much more personal. There are plenty more stories for Michael to share and I truly hope a continuation of Its All Good will happen at some point!

Michael Berryman is an inspiration, how many people can say their second ever acting role was One Flew Over The Cuckoo Nest? Not to mention the fact he changed horror history with Hills Have Eyes right after, and helped make Wes Craven a rock star of a filmmaker. This is a great book, I just wish it didn’t end right when his film career starts, but hopefully he writes another.

This has been a joy to read! From the very first page, to the very last word…everything was told in very vivid detail, & you are brought into every memory like it was your own, like you were living it yourself. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Thank you Michael for sharing this with the world.

This book is a really good memoir! It's so conversational. He motivates you on almost every page. Everything in our life gives us something to learn. And it's all here. And I respect living in a van outside his parents house to becoming a successful actor inspiring God knows how many people. Aside from the physical, we seem to have lived a lot of the same life. Really good book!
