Make Stargazing More Fun Than Ever! Stargazing is among the most peaceful and inspiring outdoor activities. Night Sky , the award-winning book by Jonathan Poppele, makes it even better! Take a simple approach to finding 64 constellations by focusing on one constellation at a time, instead of attempting to study dizzying charts. This revised and expanded edition includes new photographs, new discoveries, and more constellations, including a section that introduces the 44 constellations of the Southern Hemisphere.
Supper guide to the constellations. Easy to use with a page illustrating each of the major and lesser- know constellations, and comes with a handy red light to use for reading the book while outside in the dark! I like it so much I bought a second copy to share with my stargazing companions.
Amazing guide to the night sky and its various points of interest, not just including constellations, but noteworthy stars, clusters, nebulae, and much more. This was absolutely fascinating, given the fact that with each constellation comes it's approximate location during any time of the year and when it is above and below the horizon, as well as its own page of history and/or mythology associated with it. I highly recommend for beginners who are trying to become associated with the night sky (such as myself), and even pros could find some use with this book. If you're interested in astronomy and stargazing, this book is definitely a good starting point.
Best little amateur's night sky guide I've found--really clever arrangement of information, and easy to put to use. Plus it comes with a little red LED card light, so you can check the book without messing up your night vision! I've been out just once with this thing and in a matter of moments found more constellations in one fell swoop than I did struggling with my previous star guide, even though I'd come to know the night sky in my previous home (Flagstaff, the first Dark Skies city) pretty well after all my midnight horse feedings!
