About the author

Susi Johnston

2 books13 followers
Susi refers to herself as an "ad hoc scholar-at-large," specializing in the cultural history of Indonesia. Raised in Seattle and educated in Scotland, where she did her dissertation on Tibetan architecture, she eventually found herself in Bali and lived there for over 20 years. Now residing on an island in the Pacific Northwest, Susi remains a respected writer, art historian, critic, and dealer. Her current projects include an in-depth non-fiction book throwing new light on chronic issues affecting all of Indonesia, and a collection of short stories that cast a critical eye on the Pacific Northwest of the 21st century while referencing its far richer past, by juxtaposing sublime beauty with the angst-ridden absurdities of individuals' daily lives in the Seattle area now.
