Protection Detail is the third of the Finnegan First Responders series, the story of Kyleigh, deputy sheriff working the courthouse duty during a high profile trial of a celebrity accused of murdering his girlfriend. The ADA Baxter Scala received a threatening letter and Kyleigh is assigned protection detail for him while another deputy is assigned to protect the judge. This is action-packed, suspenseful with some unexpected twists and turns and non-stopped danger with romance and faith interspersed throughout. Great addition to the series. I listened to the audio version via Chirp.

I like this series. It's fast and the romance is super fast but it works for me somehow.
Kyleigh was the bodyguard and I loved it. She was strong and well minded.
Bax didn't want her to protect him because it clashed with his feelings but he let her do her job.

Bella storia sebbene non capisco perché il protagonista non voglia avvisare il giudice degli attentati contro di lui (è un procuratore) e contro la sua principale testimone... A me sembra ovvio che qualcuno avrebbe dovuto per lo meno indagare un pochino sull'imputato e i suoi avvocati...

Another exciting Finnegan First Responders story
I love these books. Kyleigh is a deputy guarding the courtroom, when Assistant District Attorney Bax receives a threatening note while preparing for a murder trial. He blows it off, but Kyleigh goes with him on his lunch break. While outside one of his favorite restaurants, Bax is shot at! From that time on, Kyleigh has her hands full trying to keep Bax safe and the murder trial going forward.
The pace is breakneck and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with an action and character oriented storyline that has some kisses. The characters are vibrant and engaging. The Christian ideals are not just added in for effect, but seem to be a part of the characters' lives. I like that the Callahans from the previous Milwaukee series Callahan Confidential are intertwined with this series. There is another previous Milwaukee series called SWAT: Top Cops, but if they are in here as well, they are harder to recognize. All of these series are action packed with great character development. Read these books in the order of each series. You don't have to read SWAT: Top Cops first, although I think it happened first. But do read whatever series you are reading in order and prepare to be blown away!

Fast paced
I enjoyed reading this series. This was a fast paced suspense involving a court case that had me wondering what the outcome would be. Deputy Kyleigh Finnegan is assigned to protect ADA Baxter Scala when his life is threatened due to an upcoming court case.
The characters were well-written, the plot line was action-packed, and it was wonderful seeing some of the Callahans popping up throughout this story and finding out a bit more about the DNA family connection between the Callahans and Finnegans as it unfolds throughout the series. It was also wonderful seeing the contrast between Baxter and his parents when it came to wealth. Whereas his parents were very rich but weren't satisfied, Baxter, who was rich, liked to give money away to contributions and help people in need.
I'm looking forward to the rest of this series.

I loved Kyleigh and ADA Baxter's story. Kyleigh kicks a*s as a sheriff's deputy and doesn't take crap from her brothers for always wanting her to be out of harms way. I enjoyed the banter and the action in this book. ADA Baxter is involved in a high profile case and is taking down a killer but at each turn someone is trying to kill him. The twists, turns and action in this one was amazing. Add in new cousins they meet and you got your self more than a brady bunch!

I think this is my favorite story in this series so far. I loved the dynamics of the characters, and not just the main ones, tho they are a delight. Bax is all man and really has trouble letting a woman stand in front of him to guard him, especially before she saves him. It goes against his instincts. Then there is the rest of the story....

An interesting look at how law enforcement, district attorneys and judges interact. Romance between ADA Baxter Scala and Kyleigh Finnegan. Suspense in the danger coming from the man being tried for murder. I really enjoyed listening to Protection Detail. Has Christian content if that is a concern for you.

Oh how I love this story. The excitement and suspense had me in the edge of my seat! I am in love with the Finnegans and can’t wait to read more about the Callahans as well. Kyleigh and Bax’s adventure was harrowing and beautiful. On to “Midnight Abduction” to see what adventures and challenges are in store for Brady!

Great!!!!
I love the family in this book and series. They are smart, loyal, strong, and kind. This book has great suspense, action, a clean romance, and faith sprinkled throughout the story. And of course I love the happy ending.

I enjoyed this book!
There was an element of suspense, but nothing spine tingling. I enjoyed the pace. The engagement, however, seemed a little bit rushed , but if that's the way they feel about each other, then so be it.

PROTECTION DETAIL was another great installment in the Finnegan First Responders series. Kylie Finnegan is a police officer who is working in the courthouse and is assigned to guard the assistant DA Baxter who is trying a high profile case against a musician who attacked his girlfriend. Someone is going around silencing witnesses and now they’re trying to silken Baxter too. I enjoy this series for the good pacing especially. The scenes move quickly and there’s a cliffhanger at the end of every chapter. The books are not overly long either which is another plus. They are a nice readable length for romantic suspense at just around six hours on audiobook, which is what I listened to. 4/5 stars.

This was a very good novel. It took me on two very unexpected twists in the story I didn't see coming. Kyliegh and Bax want to see justice served when a young woman is found strangled. But someone is always one step ahead of them and always seems to know where the key witness is hiding.

I have read some of her other books and they are great. This one adds even more about the family of firs responders and it was amazing.

I listened to an audiobook but not Audible. Kyleigh’s story is another great Finnegan story. Alex Knox does another excellent job narrating.
