A Disappointing Attempt of a Potentially Great Read.......😲🙄😑😒
NOT feeling this book, at all!👎 The storyline was decent, BUT the writing was off-kilter and felt "Juvenile".😧 I've read other books by this Author and the writing style was DEFINITELY Better, but this was a Disappointment!😑 Furthermore, I Didn't like the Heroine, Kendra and her wishy-washy Attitude and her "over night success" was Very Unrealistic!🙄 It seemed SHE Did change, after becoming a singer and treated Marcus as an afterthought, when she started making money.😡 He told her of his goals, but there was NO compromise with Kendra and she had the NERVE to call him a lowlife deadbeat, yet she Didn't attempt to do Anything for him & his dad when she became successful, even after living with them for YEARS!!!😤 I Didn't like her "Girl nextdoor" persona turned Naive "industry chic" turned Miss "PHUCKED Up" Attitude Kendra Michelle........'I Want It All/Everything' was NOT it, for Me!!!👎👎👎👎👎👎
"All I Want Is Everything" was a good book with a simple message: "Don't Give Up On Your Dreams". I enjoyed this book beyond the message due to Poole's style of writing. The book was very fast-pace, and I was able to finish it in a day. This was far from a rags-to-rich story. I loved how Poole told her story. Bottom line : Daaimah S. Poole has a long time reader over here.
Loved it. I read this books several years ago and ran back across it. It's the story of Kendra Michelle and what she went through to become a singer. From a dream snatching boyfriend. To selling her morals to make it. How hitting rock bottom, was what she needed to bounce back, be humble and get her grind on. Great book
This is a transformational story of one young woman’s life who had always dreamed of being a singer and the struggles she had trying to achieve her dream. I was surprised at some of the graphic sexual scenes but the story was compelling and I couldn’t put the book down!
This book was just okay for me, my first time reading/listening to this author. While growing up Keisha and her family had a hard life, some things happened to their family and it appeared that Keisha was the only adult and helped pull her family together, some high school friends drop in at her job and Keisha begins to realize that she put all of her dreams on hold to help her family, she decides to make some life changes and starts to make things happen for her self. What I did like was that she didn't forget her family, even when she probably should have at times.
This book is about Kendra who always dreamed of being a famous singer, but life got the best of her and now she bartends for a living. One night while working, she meets some girls from highschool and notices that her life is nothing like she wants it to be. She then pursues a career, as a singer.
I enjoyed this story of rags to riches. It was refreshing. I particularly liked the authentic characters and story line. What was really unique is that you saw the main character, Kendra, learn from her successes and failures. That is what made the book real!
If you think fame and fortune is where it's at, then this is the book for you. If you are in control of your ego, you will probably find this to be an insipid read.
