Quite the sausage party, with some stories more interesting all well put together than others. My favourites were Sky Lift by Heinlein with its crass detailed descriptions of a body being exposed to 3,5 G for a long time and Deeper than the Darkness by Harlan Ellison which gave me strong Babylon 5 vibes (and weirdly enough, reminded me of the Kingkiller Chronicle, too). I was familiar with most of the authors like Asimov and Wyndham, while others were completely new to me (even though I had heard their names). The stories were very different in style and complexity, some of them obviously meant for a pulp publication and feeling clumsy in execution and simple in ideas (looking at you, Alfred Bester), while others laid a lot of ground work like I feel a good short story should be able to do. I'm glad I could broaden my SF short stories knowledge, but would not recommend this anthology specifically to start.
