This is a concise little book that distills a large amount of information about Ayurveda into a well-organized, clearly written fast read. When I first leafed through this book, I thought it might not go deep enough into this vast topic. But, for someone who is trying to learn more about Ayurvedic medicine's history, background and application, this is a perfect introduction.

This book contains descriptions of various terms and concepts in ayurveda. If you are looking for solutions specific to you, or for general advice on what is good and what is bad, then this is not the book you want to read. Do not pick this book expecting to find tips and tricks for you. Pick this book if you wish to learn about Ayurveda itself and get an idea of how it works.

This was a wonderful book - it's a quick read and really gives you a feel for the practice of Ayurveda. It has certainly piqued my interest and I'm seeking out other books that go into a bit more depth about it.
