The definitive book for walking around Eugene, Oregon. Lots of secret alleyways and interesting sites featured. The maps are all hand drawn with explanations and sketches of things to see. The walks are indexed by area and distance so this could be a good trip book for the casual site-seer as well as the exercise walker. Tyler is a well-known walker and marathon trainer in Eugene and brings a wealth of experience to her books. This is one of many Northwest walking books that Tyler publishes, but since it is her "home" it is the best to start with before moving on to all of Oregon, Portland city walks, and Seattle.

Excellent guide to walking in Eugene. The author has created these routes to be interesting (makes the miles fly by) and they always include buses, where to park, and a bathroom break. There is a good range in the book from short, flat and easy, to "oh why did I decide to pick the 9 mile loop?!" Wish there were MORE walks (I'm pretty much done with the book) but that has more to do with the size of Eugene than any fault of the book.
