I had a rather short area here telling a little about me but then I had more than a few people ask me to expand it so... here goes. LOL. I'm a full time home 'supervisor' which is a nice word for saying I'm a housewife. I'm married happily, I met my dream guy 20 years ago, and we have 4 children. I live in Southern California and I can't function without iced coffee. I believe in romance, I've always been a daydreamer, and I'm a HUGE fan of books, always have been.

No, I didn't know that I always wanted to write. I inhaled books as a child. I read entire series (Pippi Longstocking, Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys, Trixie Beldon, The Borrowers, etc) in a matter of days at a time. By the time I was nine years old I had an adult library card where I visited often. I moved on to John Saul, Stephen King, Richard Laymon, Agatha Christie, and then found romance. I was hooked. I wrote poetry in my teens and then moved on to short stories. My first book was started after I read a real bomb of a book that ticked me off with really horrible characters and a plot that was shabby at best and I thought... I could do better. LOL.

I wrote my first book which will probably never see the light of day in the early 90's. I wrote a series of a few books from it. I'm a series fan! I kept writing for fun, wrote MANY books and then in 2009 I decided to try to get published. I wrote my first Sci Fi romance and Ral's Woman came to be. I submitted it and with a little tweaking, Ellorascave sent me an acceptance letter. It was kind of a 'Cinderella' experience for me. It's been a terrific ride so far and I'm really happy that I finally had the time to commit to writing full time. It's a dream come true.

I'm going against the flow on this one. I didn't like it very well at all. I'm am reading the series in order and I didn't find it as well done as the others in the series so far. There were times when it would be getting interesting and every time it just went south.

Just gonna warn you now this whole review is spoilerific.

Characterization was just not there and the world building was lacking. Not only that but what there was didn't really make much sense. Wasn't very alien either somehow. I didn't notice it being lacking in the last one. The author seems to have given up on developing an alien world. There was very little description or action which illustrated the alien world here. Hmmm.

I didn't feel like the relationship was based on anything but attraction. They hopped in bed way too soon. Less than 24 hours anyone? and he was already married. Not happily but there was potential for him to show great honor and nobility by denying his feelings and holding to his vows. And her? She just went after him and begged this married man to f*** her. She wouldn't take no for an answer. I guess it's okay to go after a married man if his wife is a bitch.

Then he sees her only at dinner time for 5 days in the presence of his wife and housegirl. On that 5th day while he's at work, the man she is promised to comes to pick her up. He's very mean and treats her bad. I'm thinking oh maybe he'll take her and there will be some potential for angst or something. But no, Rever comes home and catches him abusing her and calls his brother the judge to come and settle things. The brother says "no she has to go with the a**hole that's the law." And she's crying "no don't send me with this jerk I've never met just because he is the brother of the man who took me from Earth then died before we got to Zorn." But apparently the only women who have any say so in their own living arrangements on Zorn are the house girls who live in for the Zorn guys to have sex with.

The brother and the bad guy go away for lunch and Rever decides to run with the heroine, Brenda, and live in the Outlander area where the wild Zorn men live. So then there's this big escape scene during the middle of which they stop to have sex in the guard house after having knocked the guards unconscious. Smart, right?

So off to the wilds and I'm thinking well it will be interesting to see them try to survive in the wild. There'll be some hunting and some fighting off of wild Zorn. And how is it that there are wild Zorn on a planet that has achieved interplanetary space flight? And we're not talking tucked away on some distant isle but apparently within a days drive of the capitol. So gonna see some rough living. Some alien survival stuff. Right? Yeah, no.

The very next morning soldiers come and lure Rever away with some planted wild Zorn. Boy he's a bright one isn't he? Meanwhile the soldiers capture Brenda. I'm thinking maybe she'll throw herself in front of a gun to save him and get shot and we'll have some interesting developments but no. When Rever come back they tranquilize him with dart guns tough alpha that he is . And back they all go to the capitol.

Now there's a big trial where the men all agree to ignore what Brenda wants and send her to live with an extra pissed off bad guy who has even more reason to dislike her than he did when he mistreated her the first time. So turns out, Tina, Rever's wife screwed around on him the day Rever went back to work. According to the story that was after Rever and Brenda did it the first time. But everyone is all "Yeah! the contract is broken because Tina broke her vows first!" And Rever noble and honorable man that he is doesn't fess up. So Tina is traded off to the guy she slept with and Rever is free to challenge the bad guy to a duel to the death. Which, oddly enough, he wins. So one week after they first meet, there's a sex filled HEA.

Speaking of sex. There was a lot of it. It got in the way of the story and it wasn't very interesting and certainly wasn't hot. You know when they've consummated their wedding in the wilderness cave and then immediately start in again and the reader says "oh crap not again!" it can't be a good thing. So I'm going to read the next one since I already have it and I hope it's substantially better.

I had a few issues with this romance!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: ❤️💙💚
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌏
Character development: 🤓😉☺️
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Solo Narration

The heroine: Brenda - she was in an abusive marriage for four years, so when she met up with a handsome alien man from the planet Zorn, who wanted to take her with him to his planet, she agreed. However, by the time she got to the planet, nine days later, the warrior was dead, and she was told that his brother, Volder wants to claim her as his and it was his right to do so. Though he was more than a week away. In the meantime, she was told by the leader of the planet, that she would have to

The Hero: Rever - After his two brothers got human bond mates and were very happy with them, he wanted one as well. He picked a female named Tina that was sweet to him and brought her back to Zorn, though ever since he got her home, she has been a holy terror. She complains about everything, berates him on the regular and even flirts with other men right in front of him.

The Story: The leader of the Zorn assigned bodyguards to Brenda for the seven days that it will take Volder to arrive. Though he tells her how females from Earth are very prized on the planet, so even they may be dangerous to her. So he is having her stay with one of his sons, Rever, who already has his own female so will not be a danger to her.

Brenda is attracted to Rever right away and feels bad for him since he got stuck with a real witch. She has gotten along with his ‘house helper’ Ollie, who only does cooking and cleaning since Rever bonded to a human. Though one night when Rever and his bond mate are fighting, she kicks him out of her bed and tells him to go to the ‘house helper’.

Rever ends up having an intimate encounter with the ‘helper’ despite saying that after he got bound, he gave up other women. I didn’t like this because Brenda sees the whole thing and is turned on instead of disgusted with the fact that he swore to be only with his human but barely took any convincing to get licked like a lollipop by the older woman. Then later while Rever is still bound to Tina, he and Brenda hook up.

Also, one thing I hate in romance novels is when the two main characters stop in a suspenseful moment, when they are in danger or in an inopportune place and decide to get intimate. Especially when they are being chased or are on the run. This happens more than once in this book and it drives me crazy. I’m just like “hurry up you idiots, you couldn’t wait till you were safe and in a better place?”

This book was told via solo narration and was narrated by Simone Lewis. She is doing a good job and has a very pleasant-sounding voice. I like her narration style, though I do wish this was done in dual or duet narration with a male and a female narrator.

5 Tempting Rever Stars

Ok I totally loved this book. Here is why, we really get to learn more about Zorn and what they are like. I know we get a lot of that in books one and two but this book really shows you how “ h – or – ne – y” Zorn men really are.

And let me tell you that alley scene freaking Sizzle I tell you what. That was H – O – T!

Rever really got himself into a pickle and not a good one. So when Brenda come’s into the works you can see he knew it. Even more than he already did.

I really liked the interaction between Brenda and just about everyone. You think she is this meek little human but boy she is fierce! I loved that.

Simone Lewis is fabulous with this series! Her voice is perfect I like the different tone’s she uses.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Quick reread so I can finally finish the series. This is pretty much human like alien smut. They're easy quick reads with some drama. Entertaining, but nothing really deep.

*****Original Review****
3.5 ish Stars
I thought I would love this one; the blurb screams drama-llama!! I did enjoy it for the most part, but found parts boring. I want to note that I don't take this series seriously… like at all… so even though I rated it positively, I don’t recommend for readers looking for serious angst (more trainwrecky) or for safety folks. We know by the blurb he’s in a relationship, but there’s also another layer that I don’t think will sit well w/ those readers. I’m going to spoiler tag it, but this is a safety spoiler and doesn’t really have much to do with the plot.

Bottom Line- If you can deal with the safety stuff, the rest is just relationship/traditions/ forbidden stuff. There’s some heavy tropes, but it’s all handled very soapy-smut-ish. Nothing is deep, or over developed. This is pretty much just drama-llama trashy smut. 😊 I'm torn on the next one, (the dad's book) my OCD wants me to finish the series, but he's also bound to bitch, and I didn't love that dynamic.

Ok.....here goes.......

This is by far my favorite book of the series. I adored Rever. He made me want to jump ship and head over there. I think they all learned a valuable lesson in regards to Earth women. Maybe a little more research before you go beaming them up. Tina was wretched person that did not get the ending she deserved. That is really the only thing that I didn't like.

The funniest part had to be the killus. The four legged lawn mowers. That was fantastic. I got this picture of a pomeranian with fangs and stiff hairsprayed hair in my head. It was great....

Just wanted to say it was the best so far and I can't wait to read more about Ral and his bound and their baby on the way.....and learn more about the other warriors on the planet. Keep up the good work Ms. Dohner!

BOO. I have actually been enjoying these books. This one was terrible. The writing for some reason went downhill. The situation was different in this book. It wasn't just a kidnap a girl and mate with her. The hero already had a bound human but another human was put under his protection and his bound was suppose to be like a 'bitchy' female but everything she said and did was so freaking cheesy and robotic and it made the dialogue awkward. This was also the first time the the heroine begged to be there. So that was also weird I guess. I hate when women beg. And she begged him a lot. So yeah just not a fan of this one.

AHORA

This series is getting trickier and trickier. I enjoy the stories, but I also get super annoyed.

Ok so in this book Rever agrees to house Brenda until the brother of the man who originally took her from earth can come and claim her. The man who took her was killed in the attack to the ship on the way there.

Rever is bound to a human woman who is terrible. She is like no person I have ever met. She isn’t even conniving or manipulative. She just complains and acts like a spoiled little rich girl who was never told no. But that wouldn’t make sense for her to agree to go with an alien if she was spoiled and rich on earth. What the heck were her motivations to go? If she was a social climber and somehow knew Rever was the equivalent of a prince moments after meeting him, then I could see her maybe agreeing to go with him for status on his planet. But if that was the case why did she treat him so poorly and jeopardize her place?

I will tell you why. Her behavior was written for the sole purpose of making the reader feel okay about Rever and Brenda getting together. But here is where I think the author has sort of backed herself into a corner with all the rules on this planet. Bound can’t be unbound. But wait, apparently they can if someone else is willing to challenge for them? What? If this was the case why didn’t Rever put out a notice he was willing to let her go to any who was willing to challenge for her? The planet is full of men wanting human women.

It really bothered me that the human women have been telling the zorn men that they come from a monogamous planet. But Brenda had no problem throwing herself at Rever and asking him to take her despite him being the equivalent of married. Kind of sends the wrong message. Like, I expect you to change your ways when it’s convenient for me. That’s what a terrible representation of human women.

Also, was the scene with the house help really necessary? I can tell you, I would not feel comfortable having a woman in my house who I watched pleasure my husband —friend or not— regardless of whether it happened before we were together. Nope. I would not be ok with that.

So this is why I’m torn. There are so many things about this book that burned me up but I couldn’t help from being invested and route for them to be together in the end. I really liked Rever. He was a great man, errr alien. He was kind and honorable. He fought his attraction to Brenda for a full 24 hours before she wouldn’t stop asking him to just get inside her!! 🙄 So yeah that part wasn’t so honorable. But I really liked him. And I liked how fiercely he loved Brenda.

I don’t know if I will continue this series. Maybe I will revisit. But it sounds like the next book will be similar to this one. With the whole having a bound mate already, but falling for a human woman.

Also, just a side note. In the end when Brenda meets Ariel and Casey. Casey is doling out advice and assurances like she’s lived on this planet for a long time. But didn’t she come over on the same ship that Brenda did? Didn’t she JUST come to terms with Argernon? They were only there for like a week.

I don’t know, Rals book is still my favorite. I will just continue to read that one over and over.

Again, another exciting story in the "Zorn Warriors" sci -fi romance series. With elements of danger, suspense, drama, angst, stifling passion and hot, hot sex, I just couldn't put it down until the last page was turned. This series has captured my heart and these warriors/ heroes will be in my dreams for some time to come. :-D This one was especially fun with its twist in matchmaking. Love the "down-to-earth" (literally. :-p) heroine in this tale. She's spunky yet vulnerable. Definitely a must read for fans of Sci-fi romance.

This book is a little different than the others in that you don't see Rever bound with his mate, Tina, however, you immediately hate her. Brenda has agreed to bound with another warrior, however, he is killed in the attack we read about in the last book. His brother claims her and is coming to get her. Rever and Brenda fall in love, and their feelings are intensified by Tina's horrible personality. I would loan this book if you enjoy the series-TTFN-Sandy

If you're a Dohner fan then this will not leave you disappointed. In this male dominated world the human females are really getting the upper hand. I love how with ever book in the series the world of Zorn is growing and we are exposed to different dilemmas. Thank you Ms Dohner for not making ever female they come across as excepting because Lord alone knows we have all kinds. I really hated Tina but it brought an interesting storyline.

I liked this book, but didn't think it was as good as the previous two books. I just didn't understand why the laws couldn't be changed if they found mates incompatible, I mean, really they are the ruling family so they can at least start to change some of the laws.

Just a little hesitant in reading the last book in the series as I already realized in this book that .

Decent. Not as good as the first 2 in the series. I thought the character Tina was just a tad too overdone. But, then again, she was somebody you were supposed to hate. So goal accomplished. Despite that minor thing it was still a good book.

Loved the angle of this story but didn’t like the cheating side of it.
What a totally interesting direction in this story takes us.
Really dislike Tina but who wouldn’t. Her type give woman a bad name.
Thought it was terribly sad that Rever was trapped in a relationship with Tina and couldn’t be with Brenda. Still it is not easy to like this book due to the cheating angle. Brenda is basically the other woman. Even though it is proven that Tina cheated first, Brenda and Rever did not know that when they had sex.
Can understand them taking off like they do but found it stupid that they stop for a quickie when they are trying to run away.
The ending was just brilliant though and I thought Tina’s punishment was perfect.
Really enjoyed this book more as I am now used to the thinking and cultural behaviours of these Zorn warriors
Have owned these books for years but my reviews have disappeared. Reviewing as I read them again but I believe there is a newer cover version published.

MINOR SPOILERS THROUGHOUT
I really like this book. I adored the love story between Brenda and Rever. I enjoyed getting to see a relationship form between them that was forbidden. Brenda and Rever were both sworn to other people so seeing them realize that they loved each other was really entertaining. I was rooting for them the entire time and I got incredibly angry when people tried to tear them apart.

After reading this book and getting to see more of Hyvin Berrr, I’m really looking forward to the next book. I can’t wait to start reading it!

I did not this one very much, and if I could give a lower rating I would.

The relationship between Rever and Brenda is just ridiculous! Granted, I'm all for love at first sight, but these two take it to a whole new level. They've known each other for what seems like 2 minutes and apparently can't stay away from each other. Rever is already in a bound-relationship with/married to a human, and therefore he is trying "very hard" not to succumb to his "feelings" towards Brenda. But a trip to the market is apparently all it takes to bring this warrior down. Brenda practically throws herself at him - the irony here is that Rever is unhappy in his bound with Tina because she "flirts" with other men. Brenda is very persistent in her pursuit of Rever and "argues" that he deserves better and basically Tina is just a B****. What I gather from this is; it's okay to cheat on someone as long as we both agree that the one we're cheating on is someone we both dislike. Wt..... :/ Granted, Tina does seem like a unpleasant person, but Brenda has known her for 2 minutes and is in lust love with Tina's bound/husband, so yeah no agenda there...
The trial at the end is equally ridiculous, because throughout the book Rever has been very vocal about not having a claim to Brenda, because he is already bound to Tina and there's no way to break this bound. Well, what to do you know! Even though Rever cheated on Tina with Brenda at the market, it's proven that Tina cheated on Rever first! That B****, right?! This is wonderful for Rever and Brenda, because now Rever can just give Tina to the guy she slept with (another big; wth) and he's free to bound Brenda - the woman he really loves.

This was the best so far for me. Rever found himself bound to a right bitch, he hadn't realised it though till Brenda came along. It was just about love and first sight, the attraction was so strong between them. Brenda was promised to another. The story had lots of twists and turns....what with them running away only to be hunted down, oh I was holding my breath at this point.... were they captured...you will have to read to find out....fabulous story.. I am in love with Rever
