The secrets behind the warrior code will finally be revealed.
* An ominous sign from StarClan that signaled the need to patrol borders * The unexpected help from a warrior ancestor that cemented the importance of elders * A secret coup that led to a deputy's new role * A medicine cat's pleas that stopped a spree of interClan bloodshed
Erin Hunter is inspired by a love of cats and a fascination with the ferocity of the natural world. As well as having a great respect for nature in all its forms, Erin enjoys creating rich mythical explanations for animal behavior, shaped by her interest in astronomy and standing stones.
I think this one, for me, is morefor completition, that for actual reading. We have a sense of the code of the clans when we read the books, and here we have the laws of the code, with very short stories (a page or two) giving examples of it. Also, there are some very nice drawings alongside the illustrations, but to me, not worth the effort of reading it.
I loved this book, it showed the true stories about the warrior code which made it very interesting! I read the rule, 'Warriors Reject The Soft Life Of A Kittypet' before I read Bluestar's Prophecy so I knew what happened to Pinestar, it made me rofl. This is a good book to pick at, like read some at a time which is what I did.
This book provides an in-depth look at the Warrior code and its rules. Walk with Flowerstem on her journey to become leader; Find the cruel leader of Shadowclan's attack on a Gathering;understand why cats may not have friendships with other clans. Full-color pictures.
As a Field Guide and not a main series installment / novella / Super Edition, this book isn't what you'd call a typical story. Instead, it's a compilation of more than thirty short tales, each two of them explaining the creation of one code the warrior cats live by.
All these stories were very interesting and fun to read! While some where better than others, all of them were original and special in their own way. I really enjoyed the idea of the warrior code being created piece by piece throughout many generations!
The pages also have beautiful illustrations to go along with the stories! The pictures were skillfully drawn and even though I read the ebook edition, I could appreciate the work put into them.
I'm not sure whether this is a mistake from my edition only or from the book in general, but some of the images didn't really make sense in the context of the story they were put in? Again, this is probably just an ebook issue but it still bugged me a bit.
Of course, such as the one before, there were some things I didn't like. Though this book was written way before Dawn of the Clans (the arc focused on the creation of the warrior clans) the first pages, which talk about these same events, don't match completely with what the books tell us.
This may be only my personal opinion, but the stories didn't really need to name so many characters! They could've been referred to as just warriors of their clan or not referred to at all. Some of the names were very good, don't get me wrong, but at times they were a bit hard to remember and distracted me from the story.
However, in general, I found this book to be a delightful read! It was very interesting finding out how the warrior code came to be, and the tales present in the compilation were all so fun I'm pretty sure I'll come back to them in the near future!
It's a nice read for every Warriors fan and I appreciate it for what it is. It extends the world-building, and we get to know more about the backstory of the Clans, but also the backstories of some cats we've heard about before.
All the short stories are well written - some of them are cute and funny, others are sadder and more dramatic. It was nice to get a new perspective in each story with a different Clan, different cats, and different time periods. Obviously, this resulted in the characters being one-dimensional and quite flat which I didn't mind.
What I specifically enjoyed was that the rules were actually a in a chronology and came one after the another, not all at once. With this, we get to know how the cats behaved before they had the codex. The pictures in front of every rule are quite nice as well (I think they're exclusive to the German version?).
This book gives solid explanations for all the rules of Warrior Code. Even those which seem to be a pure tradition, like sitting vigil at the night of warrior ceremony, actually have a very good reasons behind them. At the first sight, Warrior Code seems to be harsh and cruel, but these stories show what happens when this code is broken. Erin Hunter don't shy away from showing results of bad decisions and fatal mistakes, so many of the stories have tragic ending. This book filled my eyes with tears more than once. However, there is more in this book than only death and pain. It's about cats building their Clans, learning to live as warriors, working together to make their life better.
Erin Hunter's Code of the Clans novel is an action-packed book full of the information that explains the way of life the warrior cats live by. It explains the code they live by, what they practice in their everyday life. The codes passed down from the original creators of the clans. All in all, I give it a 10/10 IGN. Would recommend to your friends who love cats and action along with the codes that each powerful clan lives by.
If you love warriors then this book is for you, it explain how the warrior code was created. Each of the codes have there stories about how it got created and why. I tought it was really interesting to know why the code have been created and all the stories are short and fun to read, like I said a most for the fans.
I have to say this was underwhelming. None of the short stories developed in here felt organic. There was always a paragraph, in the end, to reiterate the laws almost word to word. It was unnecessary. And some of the contents are later contradicted so there is that. The full-color illustrations are gorgeous.
Probably one of the most useful references for those who want to understand the famous warrior code. Mostly, it makes an allusion in the novels of the series, but here everything is together in one book illustrated with beautiful drawings. A must !
This is a very good addition to the Warrior Cat Series, teaching you the Warrior Code that the cats base their lives upon. I definitely recommend you read this to have a better understanding of the Warrior Cat Code.
I’m getting the impression that a lot of the stories in this may have been retconned at this point. They’re fine enough, though my eyes started to glaze over with the absurd number of characters with all of the timeline skipping about.
Wayne’s illustrations are as pitch-perfect as ever.
This book did a spectacular job in explaining the Warrior code! I loved how they included interesting stories that helps you understand why the code is what it is. I also loved the little Easter eggs in some of the stories, like Tigerkit being saved from a fox by ShadowClan warriors, and promising to help them later- which he did end up “helping them” when he grew older. This is definitely worth the read if you want a good idea of the code that is so important to this series!
Code of the clans goes back to when the clans were first being formed and the rules were being set. You go through as though you are a cat and one of the medicine cats Leafpool tells you all about the clans and the stories of each code came to life. They also explained of some of the stories that happened in the clans or some of their great leader and fight that were won.
I really like how they had it in your perspective and how they put in famous stories like when 2 apprentices went out to find the dog pack. It was also nice to see a famous leader like the very first leaders of each clan, what each of them looked like and their characteristics, and what clan they lead, and how they died.
This book teaches all the codes of the Warriors and tells you how the Warriors decided on making these laws.
Reasons I like this book-
Reason 1- The book teaches you the codes that all the clans follow. It is easier to understand the books if you read it first, but it does tell you what happens in some of the other books.
Reason 2- The mini stories in the book are enjoyable.
Reason 3- The book is by one of my favorite authors, Erin Hunter!
A combination of some of the special books into one whole book. You can dig deeper into the world of the Warriors. It explains what everything means and why they decided to add things and stories of cat's pasts. Its cute how they invite you in as if you were one of their own. Its a think book full of short stories that keep you interested. They even teach you fighting moves that these guys use, even medicine herbs that the medicine cat uses.
Grade/interest level: Young adults Reading level: 830 Genre: Fiction Main Characters:Fire star, grey stripe, and Sand storm. Setting: At clan territories POV: First and third
This book is a book i would recommend for people who like book with lots of action. They also have to like fiction books. I feel this book is a lot like seekers series. So if you like this series I would recommend it to you.
