Dean Honeybone has made great progress in his recovery from a plane crash in Queensland, Australia. Now in New Orleans with his lover, French chef Jean-Luc Sebastien, Honeybone is scheduled to get back to work except…he's started receiving nasty notes. The sender claims to be watching him. The sender claims to be Richard Stance, the man he was accompanying on the plane to Australia when it crashed.
Unwilling to put his lover at risk, Honeybone wants to send Jean-Luc out of the country, he hopes, to safety and returns to work on a Louisiana murder case. Jean-Luc, unwilling to run, stays in New Orleans, putting a strain on the two men's relationship. Meanwhile, Kaia Pendleton, the little girl Dean rescued in the crash, wants to visit Dean and Jean-Luc as promised. With the crazy letters and calls escalating, Honeybone fears the killer's prophecy of fulfilling his creed.
A.J. Llewellyn lives in California, but dreams of living in Hawaii. Frequent trips to all the islands, bags of Kona coffee in the fridge and a healthy collection of Hawaiian records keep this writer refueled.
A.J’s passion for the islands led to writing a play about the last ruling monarch of Hawaii, Queen Lili’uokalani as well as a non-erotic novel about the overthrow of her kingdom written in diary form from her maid’s point of view.
A.J. never lacks inspiritation for male/male erotic romances and on the rare occasion this happens, pursues other passions such as collecting books on Hawaiiana, surfing and spending time with friends and animal companions.
A.J. Llewellyn believes that love is a song best sung out loud.
One thing I love about AJ Llewellyn’s writing is the ability to convey the deepest feeling of love and tenderness in a hot, sexy scene. It makes the telling all the more provocative, because you can feel the emotion mixed with the physical. Creed has that feel to it. It is a continuation of the story of Dean “Marshall Honeybone” and his chef love, Jean-Luc, along with their daughter Kaia. Dean is the guardian of Kaia, who he had rescued from a plane crash that killed her parents, along with everyone else on board. She is from Australia, the men are back in Louisiana with Kaia in for a month long visit. Mixed in with the very homey family scenes are the fears and anxiety that comes from not knowing if someone is stalking you, and the terror of knowing someone is, without knowing the who. The serial killer, Richard Stance, who kept his tools of the trade in a Pan Am bag, was supposedly killed in the plane crash. However, a Pan Am bag, with nasty tools and a threatening note, is found in the garden of the family. Threats against Jean-Luc are included, bringing even more fear to Dean. Betrayal and relationships from the past make it even more confusing. Creed is a great story of love, and a good story of suspense. Kaia is beyond adorable, and both Jean-Luc and Dean are keepers in their own right. As a couple, they are madly in love and unafraid of showing it. The series does continue after Creed, with several paths it may take. Interesting, fast mystery.
To the men and women of the US Marshal Service, especially the ones who have worked so hard in the protection of children—thank you for all you do.
This is the sequel to Honeybone and picks up quite nicely where the first book left off. This book was just as fabulous as the first one. Dean Honeybone is home in his native New Orleans with his husband Jean-Luc and now Kaia whose visiting them from Australia while her grandmother is recuperating. Just when Honeybone begins to relax and enjoy his life with his partner and their adopted daughter, danger once again finds him. A series of threatening letters disrupts the happy life that Honeybone has built for himself and he will do anything to eliminate the threat to them. All of the action and suspense comes to a surprising head in this story. Just when you think you know who’s behind the threats and resulting mayhem, Llewellyn throws in a surprising, shocking plot twist that you WILL NOT see coming. This author is the absolute prince of the plot twist. The perpetrator will not be who you expect. I was floored at not only who it was, but why this person did what they did and who they teamed up with to carry out their diabolical plan. The explanation behind why they did it was just….sad. That was hands down brilliant. You will get way more than a love story with this book. This is the fourth book that I have read from this author and he is fast becoming one of my many favorites. I am definitely going to start filling my Kindle Fire with more of his work. Well played, AJ Llewellyn… well played indeed.

Just as amazing as the first book in this series (Honeybone), this second volume held me spellbound - but for somewhat different reasons. Where the first volume focused on the serial killer and Honeybone's determination/obsession to capture him, in this second book we find out a lot more about Honeybone's personal life. As a result, the threats he is presented with are also of a more personal nature.
I love these characters, especially the way both Dean and Luc look out for Kaia. Llewellyn really surprised me with how this particular mystery worked out.
VERY raw notes, may contain spoilers but probably nothing major.
His name is so explicit.
Gag. Perfect girl--WAY too smart and WAY too sweet and happy for a kid who just lost her parents--perfect lover.
What does being autistic to do with being physically strong?
Wow he's quick to value judgments and jumping from one extreme to the other in seconds.
That wasn't a very creative note. Not a very creative or original bad guy.
They do have chemistry and I feel their love.
"Baby batter" as a euphemism for spent? I haven't heard that one before.
He would not be allowed to work the case.
Learning about positive parts of New Orleans in the aftermath of Katrina, what goodness survived, is cool.
Why are the two black guys in the book awful, one a good guy he hates, the other the bad guy? It's cool that their little girl is have Australian Aborigine and he thinks a lot about Ruby Bridges though.
Ooo shower head sex. Hot.
Jean Luc is trying to save Dean from a heart attack by controlling everything he eats and giving him supplements but they're eat crap.
No hospitak scene but there was a good hysterical phone call. Decent action for a book so short.
This was much better than most he first.
