Something unholy stalks the hills of Adelphia Valley. A modern mystery with roots in the ancient past. Kaytie Flame O'Reilly, reporter for Beyond Fantasy magazine, discovers an astonishing possibility written long ago in a secretive journal. An unthinkable possibility which challenges her belief system. Warned by a werewolf, stalked by a shadow, captured by a cultist, Kaytie must escape the unknown dangers of the cryptic Third Circle. The greater nightmare begins when she is forced to choose life or death for one of two men who are equally in love with her. Can she resist the rakish Dax Larue? Must she let the handsome sheriff die? A difficult choice remains ahead, even when the danger is past. Beyond Fanstasy books have been purchased by Tri-Lake Christian Academy in Branson, Missouri, for their biblical message regarding current media fascination with paranormal and occult themes.
I was privileged to read the manuscript for this book before it went to print. The characters are quirky and fun. H.L. Ford does a masterful job weaving her tale and incorporating details she has lived as a newspaper reporter who investigated some of this very stuff! It is a suspenseful, fast-paced novel just about anyone would enjoy. But especially anyone who has a young person who is into the whole paranormal scene should get it. The books in this series explore the kind of themes any fan of the vampire, magic or ghost story lovers would get into--all from a sensible, Bible-based perspective. Grandparents, moms and dads, purchase a copy for your "tween" or teen, BUT READ IT BEFORE YOU GIVE IT TO THEM. You'll enjoy it, and you'll be ready to discuss the many topics raised in the book in an intelligent, sensitive matter. I read book 1 and 2 in this series. Can't wait till number 3 comes out!
