Book 1 in the City Heat series.Lynda Phelps loves sex.Wild sex.Naughty sex.Kinky sex.But when debonair Jordan Ellis enters her life, Lynda finds herself hiding her dirtiest desires, afraid that if he knew, it would soil the pristine image he holds of her. He keeps giving her delicate lace lingerie, after all — when she's definitely a leather sort of girl at heart. She knows she should tell him the truth, let him see the real her, but she's too crazy about him to risk it. Little does she know that the usually straitlaced Jordan has started having some pretty kinky fantasies of his own — and he's going to turn them into reality when she least expects it. Before it's over, Lynda will discover that a little lace can be a lot of fun.Note: The City Heat series is loosely related to the Hot in the City series, but can definitely be read as stand alone books. Also, as the series name implies—hot things happen in this city! Lynda's Lace features explicit scenes of f/f and f/f/m interaction. You have been warned…
Lacey Alexander's books have been called deliciously decadent, unbelievably erotic, exceptionally arousing, blazingly sexual, and downright sinful. In each book, Lacey strives to take her readers on the ultimate erotic adventure and hopes her books will encourage women to embrace their sexual fantasies.
Lacey resides in the Midwest with her husband, and when not penning romantic erotica, she enjoys history and traveling, often incorporating favorite travel destinations into her work.
Lacey's romantic erotica combines hardcore erotica and romance. The sex scenes are very graphic, detailed, and plentiful, including graphic language and extreme sexual situations, but entwined is a romantic, loving relationship that will reach a level of monogamous commitment by the end of the book. Perfect for the reader who enjoys extremely hot, graphic sex and fantasy-type situations, but who also finds satisfaction in traditional romance and wants to see characters fall in love.

Lacey Alexander also writes romance under the name of Toni Blake.
This one didn't really hit the usual Lacey Alexander mark for me.
This is probably a bit laughable seeing how smutty the lovely Lacey's stories are but it was a bit too skanky for me. Hmmm, on second thought, no it wasn't really skanky, it was probably just that the 10% of actual story line wasn't loving enough to pull off a happily every after for me.
Gees I'm talking some shizit right now.
Ok, putting it out there in a completely jumbled ramble - there was a huge amount of sex, hot as hell as usual - didn't like the f/f/m cause that's just how I roll - not a fan of muff diving, it doesn't float my boat. I didn't like how Lynda lied to Jordan and in all honesty I wasn't very interested in Jordan at all.
I skimmed a whole heap of this book.
***Note: I usually get quite a kick out of Lacey Alexander books, she is awesomely erotic - this one just didn't mesh with me***
When I first sat down with this book, I wasn't aware that I had read it previously, so I don't know what my thoughts were about the book, but the fact that I had forgotten I had read it was pretty telling. The book's focus was mainly on the sexual aspects of the relationship, and not enough time was given to exploring the romantic relationship. It felt like we should have already known these characters. I didn't like how they didn't want to talk about what each of them was needing in the relationship. Granted, it was a quick read, but ultimately forgettable, and I doubt I would continue the series.
Toni Blake (aka Lacey Alexander) is one of my favorite romance writers, but this story didn't have quite enough plot for me. The sex was hot, but as with Lynda, it needs the context of a relationship for me to really care. If I'd felt more for the couple, it would have been a more enjoyable read.
For those who've read Lacey Alexander's "Hot in the City" series, we remember Lynda, Liz's neighbor who told her to just go for it and introduced her to the hot P.I. Jack. It's now Lynda's story and I have to admit I was expecting something longer, and that there are more sex scenes but it was compressed just right.
Lynda is a really uninhibited woman after her divorce and she engages in hedonistic activities, male, female, doesn't matter as long as there's sex involved, like been there done that. When she met Jordan, she reigned in her true self to be someone more respectable. It's admirable how Lynda fell for Jordan and he obviously felt the same way. I understood her need to be perceived as someone to be proud of, but she was afraid to reveal her true sexual self, for fear of being thought of as a slut.
Jordan is experiencing the same problems; only with Lynda, he's starting to unleash his inner animal - which Lynda craves for. When he took her in the back alley, Lynda loved it but didn't express how Jordan shouldn't be sorry she was taken like that.
From the beginning, Ms Alexander already presented the conflict and everytime Lynda holds back, I was frustrated and I guess that's part of the thrill, like when and how would she reveal her true self. The sex was amazingly hot! Though limited, there was an F/F scene I really appreciated.
When Lynda and Jordan finally settled the matters between them I was so relieved and amused at the same time because apart from all the lust, I felt the love between them and how they want to compromise so they could meet halfway. More like, Jordan wants to enter Lynda's world to please her. The proposal in the end wasn't bad as well. I read this in one sitting, not just because it's short.
A couple that don´t talk to each other - despite numerous opportunities -- turns me off, and makes me sceptical. And she settles? I wanted to enjoy this, naughty sex and lingerie? Could it be better? but i couldn´t finish it. Might have been her going on and on about her "wild" life before, i don´t know.
I read the Hot in the City trilogy first (French Quarter, Sin City, and Key West). I was somewhat disappointed with Lynda's Lace being considerably shorter.
Lynda's Lace is my first novel read by Lacey Alexander, and also my first novel in this genre. It's a far departure from what my typical book would look like and that isn't necessarily a bad thing.
True enough as said by others, this novel takes place on a whole other dimension: where fantasies exist, no one holds grudges and the air is light and fluffy. Not everything read was believable. But who doesn't need to whisked away into a rose-coloured-glasses world every once in a while?
There were a few scenes that had me raising my eyebrows however. In the realm of reality, it did have its shortcomings (no pun intended). How often do couples get kinky like that? How often do marriage proposals come out of kinky sex scenes? And how easy is it for a man to get his lady lover to sexually engage with another woman? And is it possible that men may not enjoy the m/f/f interaction? If you aren't a woman reading this, I'm going to give you a hint: the answer is not the one you were hoping for.
Overall, I found Lynda's Lace to be short, sweet and very emotionally detached. And sometimes, that's all a girl really wants: a simple thrill after a long day at work with no strings attached. I'm giving this book a 4 out of 5. It really deserves a 3 out of 5, but for the fact that it was free and it acted as an exhilarating joy ride (sorry for yet another cheesy pun). But there you have it: 4/5!

Lynda’s Lace is book 1 of City Heat, by Lacey Alexander which has been sitting on my tablet since October of 2011, unread. What’s up with that??!
At the start, I was puzzled by two sentences. ”Wishing for fun.” "Wishing for sex.”
To me, sex is fun, so I would have said that first, and could have skipped the fun wish. Lynda seemed to have her wishes come true after divorcing her smarmy cheating husband. She became a connoisseur of fun in the Big Easy, a very fun place to be, including animal fun, especially on Fat Tuesday.:P
I love playful sexy banter.: ”You look good enough to eat.” “That can be arranged. Would you like me now or later?” “I’ll try to hold off until after dinner.” “I hope you don’t get too full.”
Lynda and friend Jordan are headed to Bourbon and Conti to a club called Michael’s. I don’t know of Michael’s but there’s nifty place right there, that has a heated hot tub in the lounge, next to the bar. gasp!;P Nawlins at nite is a fun-y place to fantasize about kink, for both Lynda and Jordan. Jordan has a camera-in-sunglasses which are a part of his investigation technique which appears later in this most enjoyable book of fun gone wild. Volcanic might be a better word than wild.
The evolution of this delightfully funny story set off the fire alarm once or twice. Adult readers of erotic stories would enjoy this short book.
Lynda Phelps is the Sex Queen of New Orleans, but she’s scared to let her wild, adventurous nature out to play with her boyfriend. He sees her as a precious treasure that should be adorned with sexy lace, when she would prefer leather.
Since she’s scared he’ll thinking less of her, she keeps her kinky side locked up tight. After all, the sex that they do have is really good, just…boring.
He senses that she’s holding something back and tries his best to get her to let loose and confide in him. But…if she does, will he be able to accept the truth and still keep her on a pedestal?
This story was sexually graphic and adventurous with real human emotions involved. The book was well written erotica that didn’t disappoint in story or heat. It’s a good example of trusting those we love with the deepest, most secret parts of ourselves – truly trusting them to love us for us.
Jordan is a traditional man, who didn't realize he had a kinky side until he met Lynda. Lynda has gained the experience of being a kinky lover over the last twelve years. A bad divorce with a cheating husband will do that to a girl. Lynda is really into Jordan, but is afraid to show her true self to him, for fear he won't love this side of her. Jordan plans a night she will never forget, when she confesses how much she loves this life, he feels betrayed that she didn't trust him and their love enough to tell him. Can Jordan & Lynda overcome this issue and save their love? Check it out, you will like it, I'm sure.
This was a good read. It was nice to read Lynda's story (Liz's best friend from French Quarter), although Lynda's tale started in the middle (i.e. she was already in a relationship with Jordan when the book began). I wanted to see her meeting Jordan and observe their relationship growing instead of coming in with them already together. That being said, I enjoyed the book and will read book #2 in the City Heat series. There is one M/F/F scene, but other than that, this is a one-on-one M/F oriented story, which I really enjoyed.
This is erotica how I like it: hot but with a bit of a plot. This book wasn't long so the conflict wasn't protracted. The heroine knew she was being an idiot by not telling the hero that she wanted different things but she couldn't help herself anyway (I know I've been there several times.) Also, I liked that for a change, the heroine was the one who was into kinky stuff and the hero was the 'newbie' who had to learn.
I don't ever know how to rate books like this. I go into them for a "quickie" read and honestly, don't really expect much. This was sometimes pretty hot and often really skanky. Not much plot, but again, I was not expecting something deep and meaningful. I wanted these characters, who said they loved each other, to just talk about what they wanted out of their relationship. Took too long to be themselves. It was a freebie, so that's a good thing.
Wow--this book was so hot I thought the pages were going to catch fire! This is a short, sexy love story that shows how a person's perceptions can change as they fall in love. This is my first Lacey Alexander book, and I look forward to reading more!
Wow this book was definitely HOT!!! Even though it was short it had a good plot and I loved the characters. This was only my second Lacey Alexander book so I was not sure what to expect but it was great. I will be reading more of her books very soon.
This book keeps you guessing as to what happens next. Your in for a pleasant surprise. Great story and lots of loving! You will hardly be able to wait for what happens in the end.
The story was a little slow to develop for me. However, the steamy scenes weren't lacking in my eye. I was disappointed however tgat it was Jordan making ammends in the end instead of Lynda.
