She’s ready to put on the performance of a lifetime.
Cody Tomlinson and Mallory Moore have struck sparks off each other since high school theater, where she was sunny and talented while he was injured and angry. A decade later, Mallory is working to save Last Stand’s movie theater and convert it into a performance space for live theater and music. Thanks to his family’s lottery win, Cody has plenty of money to help. But Mallory’s the only woman in town who doesn’t want Cody’s charity.
It’s bad enough that Cody is sexy as sin with his tough, scarred cowboy looks. Now he’s rich and Mallory refuses to be another woman fighting for his attention. She won’t accept a financial gift for her business, but she’s not above a fair trade. Mallory offers a deal: Cody can invest in the theater if he volunteers on the renovation. Meanwhile, she’ll play the part of his fiancée to ward off fortune hunters.
But Mallory immediately realizes her mistake. Cody’s always driven her crazy, and now they’re spending all their days—and nights—together.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. A wonderful read with down-to-earth, complex characters, “The Billionaire Cowboy’s Proposition”, by Kris Bock (Tule Publishing), features two people with different life trajectories and personalities that somehow connect and fall in love when involved in an old theater renovation. I loved how different Cody and Mallory seem and how nevertheless they gravitate towards each other. I also loved their past history and how it turned out in the story. The wounded hero with some insecurities and vulnerabilities with a strong supportive family and a circle of friends feels lonely, displaced, and aimless. The driven heroine with a difficult childhood, who had to grow too soon, is grounded in the small Last Stand community. The story revisits their shared past and youth mistakes and shows how they get to know and feel attracted to each other in the present, acknowledging those events. I loved Cody and how we could see the angry boy in this mature version. His awkwardness in some situations or with some people in the beginning is so well written. He’s just a regular man with some issues whose family became billionaire recently. I appreciated that the author addressed the problems coming with getting rich. The humbleness and some lack of self-confidence, balanced with a sense of humor, are also attractive in his character. Mallory, the devoted high school teacher who isn’t really always a very nice person, is such a realistic character. I liked that feelings of resentment and envy were expressed and dealt with, because they’re normal and not usually addressed in this kind of fiction. There are other aspects that I’ve enjoyed: the fact they don’t want to have children, the absence of misunderstandings to propel the plot. I also liked that things don’t happen too quickly. The renovation project was interesting and the secondary characters, too. Xander seems to be a great hero, I’m eager to read his story.
I received this arc of The Billionaire Cowboy’s Proposition in exchange for my honest review. This is the third book in Kris Bock’s Accidental Billionaire Cowboys series. This series is about the Tomlinson family who won the lottery and became billionaires. The family owns a ranch in Last Stand Texas. Book three features Cody Tomlinson. He left home at 18 after recovering from a bad car accident. He had plans to become a fighter pilot in the military but his injuries ruined that plan. He did learn to fly and worked as a crop duster, returning home on visits. After he learns about the lottery, he moves back to Last Chance to help his brother with his Llama ranch. Cody is uncertain what he wants to do in the future with the change in status. When he was in high school he had been active in the drama club and had been friends with Mallory Moore. He ended up ruining the relationship when he chose a different girl to date. I loved Cody and Mallory’s story.
Mallory had a difficult childhood after her mother died. Her dad had many restrictions and she had to hide everything from him. She loved the drama club and her dad believed it was evil. When she turned 16, the townspeople helped her get emancipated from her dad. She went to college and returned to take a teaching job and drama coach position with her former high school. She is in the process of renovating the old movie theater and returning it to its former glory as a regular theatre. Her students and townspeople are volunteering their help to her. Cody stops by to see the project and offers to provide funding for it. She turns him down and tells him he can help by working with everyone on the renovations.
Cody joins the crew and becomes an important part of the project. He goes to the theatre everyday and helps supervise the students and retirees as well as do the necessary work himself. He continues to be hounded by women due to his wealth. He asks Mallory to be his fake girlfriend to keep them away and she agrees.
Cody has been told he needs to figure out what he wants to do for the rest of his life. He ends up buying a two seater plane to fly for pleasure. He invites Mallory to go up with him one morning to see the sunrise. She’s never flown so it is overwhelming for her. Mallory invites him to her house and shares her ferrets with him and they talk about the past as well as future goals and dreams. Neither of them want children. They start spending time together in the evenings and weekends when they aren’t working on the theatre. They realize they have real feelings for the other but don’t want to acknowledge them. Cody isn’t certain whether he will stay in Last Stand and Mallory won’t leave the town. Events happen that threaten the theatre and the couple’s relationship, causing lots of suspense and angst.
I found this book to be well written and portraying some genuine characters. I enjoy that Kris includes the family and other towns people in her book. It is fun to see the same Last Stand businesses and people as in other authors books too. Mallory and Cody both had some heartbreak in their pasts so it was rewarding to see them able to talk about these things together. This was a lovely return to home book, a small town romance story and sort of a second chance for Cody and Mallory. I highly recommend this book.
The Billionaire Cowboy’s Proposition is the third novel in The Accidental Billionaire Cowboys series, and I believe Cody and Mallory’s romance is my favorite of this series (so far). I probably shouldn’t have favorites, but it’s just amusing to me that the suddenly rich brothers are fighting off gold diggers, and along comes one woman who refuses to take any of Cody’s money.
Mallory won’t be one of “those” women. She needs financial help to renovate the old movie theater into something brand new… but she won’t let Cody provide that funding with a check. However. She’s not above a trade of needs. It might be unconventional, but she needs funding for her project, and he needs help keeping the flow of ladies looking to share in his assets far away. He can help with the renovation as a volunteer, and she can pretend to be his fiancée for the moment. Easy, right? Not really. Not when in order for this ruse to look real they’ll be spending a lot of time together… and even if he drives her up the wall, she’s determined to not fall for Cody.
Once again the touches of reality bring this story to another level. Mallory and Cody each have some definite issues. They’ve known each other for a long time, and some of those troubles stem from their younger years. Watching them navigate a pretend romance with their history was an intriguing journey. Their background stories are quite frankly fascinating, and they do reinforce the way this couple interacts with each other. Neither really expected the attraction that built between them yet as the trust between them grew over time so did the falling in love. Individually, Mallory and Cody are far from perfect, each has their own unique way of dealing with the world… yet together they work, they fit, and they are believable as a couple falling in love.
I have loved the Last Stand fictional town for a long time now, and it’s always a delight to run across familiar faces in different series within this world. That’s what community is all about. I had fun with this story and if you love a well-written, realistic, and believable romance between two people who aren’t always perfect but right for each other… then you’ll love this one.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher, Tule Publishing. The opinions expressed in this review are my own – good, bad, or indifferent.*
The Billionaire Cowboys Proposition by Kris Bock is Cody’s story. He is the youngest of the Tomlinson brothers. Also, he is the one foundering the most with his self-identity and self-worth. Being the third in the Accidental Billionaire series, there is not much of the backstory concerning the mother winning the lottery ticket. It is not actually needed to enjoy this story.
Since Cody has returned home, he is still looking for his life plan that was derailed over ten years ago because of an accident. Winning the lottery did not suddenly give that to him. I found it quite interesting seeing the perspective of how much life changes and the problems involved in winning such a huge sum of money could be.
This is actually a second chance romance with a strong female lead, Mallory Moore who is not interested in his money. Yeah, for her. She is what Cody needs since she asks the hard questions, leading him to reflect, replan and get on with his life.
All of these books have been marvelous, but The Billionaire Cowboys Proposition has something just a little extra. My favorite book of my favorite series by Kris Bock. I would give it more than five stars if I could.
An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Cody Tomlinson and Mallory Moore are reunited after Cody’s family wins billions of dollars playing the lottery. Cody returned to Last Stand without a real purpose in life and is now looking for one. He can do anything he wants now that he has money. But he chooses to help Mallory restore the town’s community theater.
Being one of the “Billionaire bachelor Brothers”, Cody is constantly fighting off money hungry women, so Mallory pretends to be Cody’s girlfriend to keep the other women away. They become better friends and eventually start to fall in love. But will it be enough for a lasting relationship?
I love returning to this little Texas town and the Tomlinson family. It’s like reconnecting with old friends. Through the writer’s words, I can easily visualize the setting and scenes. This is such a fun book series. I couldn’t imagine winning the lottery, let alone, billions of dollars. It’s a fun fantasy to think about and even more fun to read about it in this book.
I have really liked this series so far and I can't wait for Xander's story. However I was not a huge fan of Mallory she just came off really snobby and whiney. I felt like for someone who had faced a lot and who was super independent she would be more strong in her overall life. I liked Cory but he was super reserve and it seemed like he had a lot of walls to break down, that did not seem to stop him from living the best life he could. I felt like more people had a problem with it then him. I loved the teenagers in this book the author did amazing by taking a situation and using it as a teaching opportunity and how it played out in this book. Overall it was fun to catch up with this family and the author kept it clean and suitable for all readers.
This is a well written friends to love romance set in Last Stand, Texas. Cody Tomlinson and his family have become billionaires overnight after winning the lottery. Cody is unsettled in his life and doesn't know what he wants to do and what will fulfill his life. Mallory Moore grew up poor and in a disfunctional home with her father. Mallory turns to books and theater for peace and happiness in her life. As an adult Mallory is now trying to fix up the old local theater with the help of students and community volunteers which lands Cody in her theater and back in her life. I really enjoyed Cody and Mallory's story.
Loved the story of Cody and Mallory. They went to high school together and were never boyfriend and girlfriend although they secretly liked each other. He has been gone from their town Of Last Stand and is back itching to find his passion. She is a high school teacher and also teaches drama. Her passion is to renovate the town’s dilapidated theater and he joins the crew. It is a slow burn romance, very engaging and delightful. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is the first book that I’ve read by Kris Bock. It was OK. There was too much rinse/repeat for me, and I felt like the story kept going in circles in different situations. It is a clean, sweet story about a family that wins the lottery and suddenly becomes famous. More than that, this is a story of high school friends (?) who become reacquainted while realizing things weren’t as they thought. It is a story of rediscovery. If you skim the “repeat” sections, you get a good story.
I voluntarily read an advanced reader's copy of this book for a honest opinion.
The Billionaire Cowboy's Proposition by Kris Bock. Book three in The Accidential Billionaire Cowboy's series. The book was a great addition to the series with it's enjoyable storyline. What started as a fake relationship could maybe turn into so much more.
Cody and Mallory's story was such a fun read. Even though they were different the chemistry between them kept drawing them towards each other. I loved the small town and I loved the fake relationship story line. This book was a wonderful addition to this series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A colorful story that's drowning in heart and dripping with humor. Bock camouflaged insightful within an entertaining find. Cody and Mallory turn past heartache and present disappointment into the beginning of something wonderful. The Billionaire Cowboy's Proposition is heartwarming gold.
4.5 stars. Another installment in the Accidental Billionaire Cowboys series, and it was enjoyable. I really liked seeing the character growth in Cody as he dealt with his baggage. Overall, a good story. *I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Very good book. Not drawn out like some books. Was a fast read but ended too soon. Could have kept going on with the story! Looking forward to next book
This is a good and clean story set in Last Stand Texas, several books staged here. His family won over a billion in a lottery. He was in a car accident in high school that left some scars. She graduated high school with him – both not knowing the other were attracted even back then. In high school the town helped her escape her abusive preacher father. Now she is a teacher in high school there, trying to save/restore the old theatre as a community project. It has good depth. It has a variety of issues it deals with. It has a sweet love story. Totally enjoyed it. Reminded me I had read other stories in this setting.
Cody was popular in high school while Mallory tired to be invisible. He had a happy home life she could dream about. Still he left and never looked back. Now years later he is back in their hometown as one of the billionaire cowboy brothers. She is renovating the old theater and he is trying to figure out the rest of his life now that his family has won the lottery. Woman want to be with him because he is rich and the scar on his face furthers the notion that no one really wants the real him. When he offers to pay for the renovations on the theater Mallory refuses. Instead she challenges him to actually work on the renovations. Somewhere along the way they might even discover who they really are and what they want their futures to look like. Old sparks fly, but with his proposition that she be his fake girlfriend to keep the woman at bay, who knows where the line between pretend and real is. Good read. I am enjoying this series with the billionaire cowboy brothers.
