Becca North doesn't want a boyfriend, but her BFF Nora certainly does-even if she won't admit it. Becca is so off men.
But when Nora, owner of Nora's Novel Niche, meets Suzie the Matchmaking Chef during a booksigning, she finagles a way for the matchmaker to arrange a picnic lunch date for her-on television, no less! Nora drags Becca along for moral support, and to check out her date.
Thing is, Nora's date would rather check out Becca, instead.
Sam Ackerman is a busy man with a business to run and no time to pursue a relationship. The last thing he needs is to be hooked into a matchmaking scheme played out for the world on national television, but he reluctantly plays along for his friend, Suzie. He knows right away, that his "date" Nora, as beautiful and smart as she is, isn't for him. Her raven-haired BFF hanging around on the sidelines, though, is a tempting candidate.
So, he decides to forgo the entrée and head straight for the side dish.
The author of 70+ romantic novels, novellas, and short stories, Maddie James pens romance and suspense stories in contemporary and paranormal worlds. Her contemporary worlds often lean toward small towns and western settings, complete with cowboys, Alpha men, and strong, take-charge women.
Her romance writing career launched in 1997 as a traditionally published author with Kensington Books. Currently publishing as an independent author, she writes full time from her Midwest, small town home, where she also gardens, cooks, and chases the dog.
Affaire de Coeur says, “James shows a special talent for traditional romance,” and RT Book Reviews claims, “James deftly combines romance and suspense, so hop on for an exhilarating ride.”
Becca North has no plans of getting involved, none what so ever. Even when she meets the man of her dreams, she walks away. Of course when her boss and best friend Nora gets the both of them into a matchmaking double date her hands are tied. The problem is, Nora's date is none other than the man who she turned down.
Very fun, I liked the idea this one because it is completely different. Sam Ackerman "man of dreams" is a delight, he is what a good romance is all about. Great read.
