She’s determined to start a new chapter, so why is she still drawn to a man from her past?
When Jasmine Weaver, the chief of staff to a powerful D.C. congresswoman, chose integrity, she didn’t anticipate ringing in the New Year disgraced, unemployed, and sleeping in her childhood bedroom. Now back in River’s Edge, Indiana, identical triplet Jazz has her sisters’ support while she plans her next steps. She agrees to lead the committee for their high school’s fifteenth reunion, never dreaming that her co-chair is the man who broke her teenage heart.
As the new CEO of Walker Construction, Elias Walker has taken the family business to new levels of success. He’s buried himself in work to ease the grief of losing his fiancé several years earlier and wants nothing more than to be a carpenter again. Elias grudgingly agrees to co-chair the high school’s reunion committee, but when Jazz Weaver blows into town, suddenly anything seems possible.
These high school sweethearts have lived half their lives apart. Can they reinvent themselves back in the town where it all began?
Nan Reinhardt is a writer of romantic fiction for women in their prime. Yeah, women still fall in love and have sex, even after 45! Imagine! She is also a wife, a mom, a mother-in-law, and a grandmother. She’s been an antiques dealer, a bank teller, a stay-at-home mom, a secretary, and for the last 17 years, she’s earned her living as a freelance copyeditor and proofreader.
But writing is Nan’s first and most enduring passion. She can’t remember a time in her life when she wasn’t writing—she wrote her first romance novel at the age of ten, a love story between the most sophisticated person she knew at the time, her older sister (who was in high school and had a driver’s license!) and a member of Herman’s Hermits. If you remember who they are, you are Nan’s audience! She’s still writing romance, but now from the viewpoint of a wiser, slightly rumpled, menopausal woman who believes that love never ages, women only grow more interesting, and everybody needs a little sexy romance. Her first novel Rule Number One is available at Amazon.com and Barnes&Noble.com. The other two, Once More From the Top and Sex and the Widow Miles — the first novels in the Women of Willow Bay series, are available exclusively at Amazon. This is my first Nan Reinhardt book and I thoroughly enjoyed it, it is a beautifully written romance filled with heartfelt emotion and set in a small town with a close knit community, the first in a series about triplets and I am really looking forward to the next two stories, come along and meet Jasmine (Jazz) Weaver and her old high school beau Elias (Eli) Walker.
Jazz has been working in Washington DC as chief of staff to powerful DC congresswoman and loving it, that is until Jaz stands up for integrity and honesty and now she finds herself back home in River’s Edge Indiana, her first meet and great with anyone as she arrives home is her old high school boyfriend who hurt her badly all of those years ago, they come to an agreement to make sure they are both moving forward and will keep tabs on each other.
Eli has never moved away from River’s Edge he is CEO of the family construction business even though he is a carpenter and is sorely missing playing with a hammer, he still suffering from the grief of losing his fiancé when he meets up with Jaz for the first time in many years is it a sign that he should move on and after hearing about Jaz and her problems this pact to move forward is just what they need.
It is not long before they are spending more time together on the school reunion committee and their hearts are opening up to love and happiness, I loved both Jaz and Eli they are both such caring people who deserve to find true love and there are so many fabulous characters that this was a great read one that had me smiling and turning the pages. I would highly recommend this to any romance reader.
My thanks to Tule Publishing for my copy to read and review.
I loved going back to River's Edge. Many of the characters we met in The Lange Brothers and Four Irish Brothers series. I love revisiting some favorite characters and meeting new ones.
This series will center around the Weaver triplets. These sisters have had their ups and downs in life and love. While we meet all of them in this book, this one focuses on Jasmine aka Jazz. She couldn't wait to get out of town and thrived in DC in the political scene. That is until she discovered how unethical the congresswoman was that she was working for and was essentially fired. However, there are some interesting revelations near the end of the book, and I hope that we will see a few other mentions of this situation in future books to see how it all shakes out.
Jazz and Elias were high school sweethearts until they weren't. But coming back to town reenergizes their friendship and their love for one another. They help each other through some tough times while exploring their attraction to one another. It is definitely your HEA that you want in a book.
I can't wait to read the next few books in this series about the other sisters. We get a peek at their life, and I can just tell that there is a story waiting to come out.
I can’t explain how excited I am to return to River’s Edge, Indiana. I’m not one of those readers who can say that I’ve been reading Nan Reinhardt since she created the fictional town of River’s Edge with A Small Town Christmas, the first book in her Four Irish Brothers Winery series. But I am one of those readers who has fallen in love with the town and the people who live there. Home to River’s Edge is the first book in Nan’s Weaver Sisters series. This marks the third series where the city of River’s Edge and its citizens make up the backdrop of the story.
Jasmine (Jazz) Weaver is one of River’s Edge’s Weaver Triplets. Her family has been business owners and members of the community for a couple of generations. Jasmine’s love of her hometown and politics led her to the bright lights of Washington, DC and its politics, wanting to make a difference. For the past several years, she has worked as the chief of staff for a Congresswoman whom she had a tremendous amount of respect for. When Jazz’s sense of honor and loyalty is put to the test, she finds herself persona non grata in DC. With no job, boyfriend, or friends, Jazz does the only thing she can think of, return home to River’s Edge and her family to lick her wounds and figure out her next steps.
Elias (Eli) Walker has spent the last two years grieving the sudden and unexpected death of his fiancee. For Eli, life still goes on, even though his heart isn’t in it. He’s become pretty good at faking it until he makes it. As CEO of Walker Construction, a company started by his father and uncle, Eli and his brother and cousins have made it more successful than the older generation could have imagined. A big part of that success is because Eli pours most of his waking hours into his work.
This New Year’s Eve, Eli finds himself parked on the side of the road leading up to the shell of the house he and his late fiancee planned to build together. The house Eli hasn’t been able to go back to since her death. Eli made a promise that he would finish the house. He just needs a sign, any kind of sign that now is the time and he can do this. Eli’s sign comes in the form of Jazz rear-ending his car. Jazz, his former high school sweetheart who he hasn’t spoken to in fifteen years. As far as signs go, this is a pretty good one, and Jazz and Eli are just who the other needs right now. As they start seeing each other around town and spending time together, their teenage feelings soon become full blown adult feelings. And together with the help of each other, they start to heal from the past.
Home to River’s Edge was one of those stories that hooked me and captured my heart immediately. I loved the main characters of Jazz and Eli. The emotions Nan brought out through their grief was like I was feeling that grief along with them. The secondary characters were just as great. I loved getting a glimpse of who some of the future series' characters are. It’s hard to put into words just how much I loved this story. If you’re a fan of small-town romances where you wish you could live yourself, then Home to River’s Edge is for you.

I loved this story although it could've been shorter. Some scenes were unnecessarily stretched out. The dialogues are quotable and the characters are relatable. I look forward to reading more books in this series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Jasmine has just come Home to River’s Edge after being gone for fifteen years. She’s having to start her life and career all over again and is unsure what she’ll do next.
Elias has been grieving the loss of his fiancé and going through the motions of his life and job, but is unsatisfied with everything. He’s just looking for some kind of sign that it’s time to move forward.
Elias and Jasmine dated in high school, but Eli broke Jazz’s heart when he dumped her right before Prom. They haven’t spoken in 15 years, but when they sorta smash into each other, the old spark is still there and a second chance at love seems to be on the horizon.
I loved these two. They both had some personal issues they had to deal with, but in the end you know these two were made for each other.
I’m so in love with the town of River’s Edge. A month ago, I hadn’t even heard of this author and then I stumbled across The Valentine Wager and was completely hooked! I read everything. Nan Reinhardt is a fantastic author. I love her writing and the emotions that come with her story telling. I love the town and the people she’s created and I was so excited to get my hands on an early copy of Home to River’s Edge. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Thank you to the author for generously giving me an ARC of this book for an honest review.
Home to Rivers Edge is the first book in a new series by Nan Reinhardt. I must say that it was a very intriguing start to the book and the series. Jasmine Weaver is a capable, independent, hard-hitting honest woman who tells it just like it is. What a great friend she would made unless you are violating ethics in the bit city of Washington, DC. Then doing what is right cost her. However, she is just the kind of friend that Elias Walker needs. Then she is more than a friend.
An amazing first book centering on the Weaver family in River’s Edge, Indiana. A story of maturity, grief, recovery and remaking your life with fate has not been kind. I especially like how high school fifteen years ago was dealt with easily and did not define either Jazz, Elias or their now relationship, starting with their first encounter after fifteen years. I liked the town and I loved the characters. A sure hit of a story.
4.5 Stars An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was such an incredible start to this new series. This is a second chance romance. The first story in the series belongs too Jasmine and Eli. Their story is set in a small town. I loved this small town and all the people I was introduced to in their story. I found their story to be sweet, romantic, and so much more. I am really looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I would highly recommend this book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Fantastic. A new series The Weaver Series... Ms. Reinhardt has captured so much in this book I ordered read it so quick I just couldn’t put it down. It was moving, it was funny, and so much more. Jasmine Weaver aka Jazz comes home to River’s Edge for a new start. It wasn’t her plan to leave Washington D.C, but circumstances left her no choice. She had a very important job and didn’t take what she find out lightly. When she got back to River’s Edge she ran into the one man who broke her heart Elias Walker. They made a pact when they ran into each other. The more time they spend together the more things get heated between them. But now something is happening in Washington, D.C. she must return for a little while.
Buy the book to see what happens. It’s so good, and so moving...Heartwarming and Heartbreaking. I loved the ending. I didn’t want it to end. Plus I didn’t want to read as fast as I did. I can’t wait for the other books which are about the other sisters.
The charm of River’s Edge never seems to fade even as we start into a third trilogy in this charming little town. Jasmine and Eli’s story was sweet and funny with just enough history and suspense to keep things interesting. This is the first time I’ve read a romance involving a Washington insider and I love how the book incorporated such a fraught topic in ways that enhanced Jasmine’s character. Another great cozy that stands alone and works well with everything that came before.

I received this arc of Home to River’s Edge in exchange for my honest review. This is the first book in Nan Reinhardt’s new series, The Weaver Sisters. The book is set in the fictional town of River’s Edge, Indiana that Nan has created. We’ve met many other wonderful characters in Nan’s previous series set here. It was nice to return and see many of them again and meet some new friends. This book features Jasmine or Jazz Weaver, one of identical triplet sisters. Jazz has been living in Washington DC for years, serving as Chief of Staff to their Representative in Congress. Her sisters both remained in River’s Edge, working at the family marina business.
As the book opens, Jazz is driving back to River’s Edge on New Years’s Eve after losing her job and her boyfriend. She is at an all time low moving back home after having had her successful career in politics for so many years. Jazz had caught the Congresswoman in an uncompromising situation with a young intern and confronted her. The woman fired her. When her boyfriend heard about her filing an ethics violation he broke up with her. He was in the political arena as well and didn’t want to have any blowback on himself. Nearing her town, she swerves to avoid a deer and ends up rear ending a car. The car is driven by her high school sweetheart, Elias Walker, who broke up with her a couple days before prom, 15 years earlier.
Elias also lives in River’s Edge, working as CEO for his family’s construction firm. We learn that his fiancé died a few years earlier and he’s been unable to move on in some ways. He is headed to a house he was building for them to live in before she died. It has sat unfinished since she died. He promised his therapist to visit it before the year is over and he’s on his way there on New Year’s Eve. Elias and Jazz have an awkward initial conversation but then start to share about their pasts. Jazz goes with Elias into the house he was building and he talks to her. He mentions about their 15 year reunion coming up in 6 months and that he’s on the committee. They make a pact that he will finish the house and she will move forward, figuring out what to do next for her life and career by the time the reunion takes place.
Elias starts working on the house and realizes he misses doing carpentry work. There is conflict at his company when he and his older brother butt heads because his brother wants his job. Jazz is roped into joining the reunion committee by her former friends. She and Elias spend time together on the committee work and get reacquainted. He suggests she take the vacant seat for the town council. She agrees and at the first council meeting suggests adding art work by local artists to the walls in the town hall. Some of the others suggest establishing an arts commission and she is offered a paying position to run it. This gives her a purpose in River’s Edge that she enjoys. Jazz is still feeling unsettled as she hears nothing from Washington about her former boss and the Ethics charges.
Jazz and Elias both had suffered much heartbreak and sadness in their pasts. As the two spend time together, they confided their feelings and hopes for the future. They grew closer and realized they had romantic feelings toward the other. I could see the character growth for the two and changes in them throughout the book. They both were wonderful characters that I genuinely liked a lot. The story was so entertaining and enjoyable to read. I liked how Nan brought back the characters from her prior series and fitted the Walker and Weaver families into the group so seamlessly. I look forward to the next book in the series. A five star read!
Home to River’s Edge by Nan Reinhardt is the first book in her new The Weaver Sisters series. We meet Jasmine Weaver, our heroine, when she is travelling back home to River’s Edge, having been fired from her job in Washington, DC. Jasmine was the chief of staff for a congresswoman for many years, and when she discovers the woman she idolized was doing something disgraceful behind the scenes, she approaches her and gets fired. Now unemployed, losing friends, she sells her home and heads home to her family, which includes two sisters, with all three being triplets.
Eli Walker, our hero, is the CEO of Walker Construction, and has helped successfully increase the business. Eli lost his fiancée a few years ago, and is still grieving from her death, burying himself totally into his work. When a car slams into his fender, they both are shocked as they recognize each other from many years ago. Jazz is shocked to see Eli, the man who broke her heart during her high school days. Together they could see that each had their own hard times, with Jazz now unemployed and Eli not being able to go back to the house he was building, still grieving the loss of his fiancée. While talking, they both agree that they need to move on, and a friendship begins.
With her sisters help, Jazz finally pulls out of her doldrums, and decides to help out at the local restaurant, until their helpers can return. She begins to enjoy the comradery meeting old and new friends, including spending time with Eli, especially him able to return to fixing up his house, with her help.
Jazz agrees to lead the committee for the high school’s 15th reunion, and to her surprise, Eli is the co-chair person with her. Eventually, Jazz will be offered a job as a councilwoman, working close to the Mayor, especially since her experiences is perfect for the job. Eli and Jazz begin to have feelings for each other, and a wonderful slow burn romance begins. I really loved Eli and Jazz, as they were great together; I also loved the amazing wonderful secondary characters. The Weaver sisters were great, as well as the Walker family; it was fun to see many of the Lange family (previous series).
Home to River’s Edge was a wonderful, fun, entertaining and heartwarming story. Nan Reinhardt gives us a wonderful couple, as well great secondary characters that were so likable, making this story even better. The atmosphere of this small town was terrific, with a sweet romance, and wonderful friends to lover’s story.
Home to River’s Edge was so very well written by Nan Reinhardt, which is no surprise, as I loved her previous series. If you enjoy a sweet romance, wonderful couple, great secondary characters, and pure fun, I suggest you read this book. I look forward to the next book in this series.
Home to River’s Edge begins The Weaver Sisters series which is also part of a larger River’s Edge, Indiana world with two previous series that have a slight connection. In my opinion, you don’t need to have read the earlier series to enjoy this current one… but they are all such good stories that if you’re in the mood for some well-written, emotional romances in this same world then I’d definitely recommend them.
Jazz has returned to the one place she vowed she’d rarely set foot in ever again. Exposing her boss as the corrupt congresswoman that she really is has blown Jazz’s Washington, D. C. career to tiny pieces. She doesn’t regret her actions, but she did know there would be consequences only maybe she didn’t see returning home quite like this in her immediate future. Or to be thrust into the path of the one man she’s done everything possible to avoid after he broke her heart with no explanation so many years ago.
Elias has regrets from those teenage years, but there’s little he can do about them now. Especially when his life is a daily battle to appear to be functioning as normal after the death of his fiancé a short time ago. He’s never finished their home, even though he’s now the CEO of the family business, and a skilled carpenter as well. Too many memories and unfilled dreams live in that unfinished house, ghosts that he continually runs from… until Jazz came back to town.
Jazz and Elias’ romance is so emotional, with ghosts from the past, and troubles in the present right up in their faces constantly. Add into the mix the fact that these former lovers are on the high school reunion committee just puts a bit more pressure on them. I loved watching this couple work through what happened in the past, for the real reasons to come to light over what tore them apart back then. It is an emotional journey for Elias as he faces the loss of a woman he loved and begins to see that perhaps he does deserve the future that is right in front of him… on his terms. This is a powerful story on several levels, and I enjoyed every moment of their journey to a love that can last a lifetime if they are willing to take the risk of trusting and loving once again.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the author or author’s team via Booksprout. The opinions expressed in this review are my own – good, bad, or indifferent.*
Nan Reinhardt’s Home to River’s Edge is story #1 in her Weaver Sisters trilogy. Years earlier when they were in high school, Jasmine Weaver and Elias Walker were sweethearts. They followed different roads, some smooth, some ruinous. Eli is head of Walker Construction and all its divisions. He is also a disillusioned young widower. Jazz found herself in Washington, DC as the chief of staff for an Indiana Congresswoman. After years of hard work, she returns to River’s Edge after being unfairly terminated.
These two hurting souls find safety and compassion with each other. Their old mutual comfort begins their individual healing. Old embers in their hearts, long dormant, begin to warm. Their hearts warm and sparks begin again. Their mutual attraction can not be ignored, and they both grab the emotions that they thought were gone forever. Eli must transfer his love for his deceased wife into a safe and treasured corner of his heart to make room for his new love for Jazz. Complicating their progress occurs when the FBI request that Jazz return to DC to answer questioning concerning her ex-boss, the Indiana Congresswoman. There was a time when Jazz believed she belonged in the nation’s capital. This time will she see the cynical manipulation of people that happens daily in DC vs the honesty of River’s Edge?
The author has written another River’s Edge delicacy for the reader to enjoy. River’s Edge now has three series and ten books. Each story invites the reader to fall more in love with our favorite town. Will Jazz and Eli rekindle their old feelings into a life of love? Will Eli finally be truly happy once again? Will Jazz finally know that she belongs in River’s Edge? This story is a 5 STAR read. Every River’s Edge story is!
This book touched my heart. Jasmine (Jazz) and Eli are both in need of a new start. Life hasn’t been kind to either of them recently and it takes seeing each other again to kickstart their new beginnings. He has suffered a tremendous loss that has left him mired in grief. Jazz has lost everything she had worked so hard to attain. Her job, her home, her reputation and the man she now realizes is a narcissistic sleaze. She is back in her small home town with her family to lick her wounds and find a new direction in life since she is sure that there is no longer a future for her in politics. Seeing Eli again is unexpected. Hearing his story and supporting him proves to them both that they still have a connection despite their troubled past. They strike a deal to both work on their lives, to sort themselves out and to look forward instead of backward. The whole town knows their history, but also sees that this renewed connection is good for them both. Both are forced to do some self-reflection and soul searching. What do they really want in their lives? Turns out they both want something simpler in their lives, with a lot less stress. They also discover they want a future with each other. Now they just have to work at getting want they want.
I loved these two characters. Their vulnerability, their flaws and their connection. They heal each other, give each other the support they need and lift each other up. They are meant to be together. I look forward to reading the next book in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Can high school sweethearts reignite their love fifteen years later? Nan Reinhardt is back with a new small town romantic series and book one is an emotional gem. A woman returns to her hometown on New Year’s Eve and bumps into the one man she wants nothing to do with. He broke her heart and she’s not been the same. But he’s someone she can’t help but reconnect with. There isn’t one thing I don’t like about this book. The descriptive narration, plot progression, characters, romantic tension, and more combine to make Home to River’s Edge an unforgettable read.
Let’s start with the characters. Both Jasmine and Elias have had some heartbreaking losses. Neither is looking for love, but fate keeps throwing them together. The characters are realistically drawn and are easy to connect with. I enjoyed watching them navigate starting anew in the same hometown they grew up.
The romance is second chance and while it’s a common trope these days, Nan Reinhardt adds her own spin on it. There’s a heartwarming almost wholesome quality to this romance. While they fell in love, so did I.
The writing is masterful and is everything I expect from this author. You will fall in love with this couple, this town, this book.
Disclaimer: I received a copy from the author in the hopes I'd review it.
I love the town of River's Edge, Indiana and its characters. This is the third series about its many characters, and I look forward to reading the rest of Jazz's sisters' books. The community is tight knit and care & support one another. Jazz has always wanted to be a Washington Insider and left as soon as she could to be in the Beltway. She loves working for a Congresswoman until one day it all comes crashing down on her when she has to choose her integrity over keeping her mouth shut. She runs back to River's Edge and of course the first person she sees is her high school boyfriend who broke her heart! Eli is himself going through a terrible crisis at that moment and they are both able to get each other through it because first and foremost, they are good friends. I loved these two characters so much. They are well-developed and so realistic, with flaws and all. I enjoyed their families too. They loved to butt into their business, but they meant well! I enjoyed the way Jazz had resolution with her Washington "mess" but the choices she made for her future. Eli's choices were great too. Just a great book all around!
This first book in the series, introduces the readers to the Weaver sisters, triplets that have a unique bond and this one belongs to Jasmine/Jazz Weaver. Jazz left home fifteen years ago and has been working in DC as the chief of staff to the Indiana congresswoman. A job that leaves her with no social life, but one she thought she loved. Until she realizes her boss is not whom she thought she was, and is fired. Going back home seems like the only option until she figures out what’s going to happen with the rest of her life. Jazz never expected that the boy she loved in HS, the same one that failed to take her to the prom, would be the first person she would encounter. Elias Walker, now CEO of Walker Construction, has suffered a great loss, one he has yet to recover from. He never expected that the moment Jazz literally bumps into him, would change his life for the better. This is a story about healing emotional wounds. It’s also a story about letting go of the past, new beginnings, family, and second chances in life and love. A wonder start for this very promising series. I was entrusted a copy of this book by TULE Publishing. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
2.5 stars Not really, no. The first half of this contemporary romance is too slow. Both protagonists are recovering from a tragic past. I pity them, yes. Their recovery is predictably slow, as recoveries tend to be to the sufferers. But the author made sure their recoveries are just as slow to the readers. The hero and the heroine go through a number of events and actions, meet a host of secondary characters, and most of those are irrelevant to the plotline. I plodded through them, page after page, and wondered what all this had to do with this particular tale? As it happens, nothing. After some further investigation, I discovered that all those secondary characters featured in the author's previous series or two. Each one starred in his or her own story, but I didn't read those stories and don't want to. Their names and families mean nothing to me, except serving as unneeded word chaff here, in this story. When the resolution finally arrived, I was so bored, I was ready for the book to be over. I had to struggle to continue to the end, and I skipped more text than I read to get to the finish line faster.
River's Edge is a great small town with welcoming characters and wholesome small town values. Jazz Weaver confeonts both when she quite literally runs into her hogh school boyfriend as soon as she crosses the city limits on her way home from a job as Chief of Staff for the local Congressional representative. Disillusioned by the lack of values of her self-serving, so-called 'friends at the Capital, she finds that picking up and starting over is much less painful than expeected when she is helping Eli Walker move forward after years of mourning his late fiancée.
As the characters grow through the story, they come to realize that happiness is not meadured on the same scale as what the media celebrates as 'success'. Also that following uour heart yields the greatest returns of all.
I received an ARC copy of this story from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to share my review.
High school sweethearts get a second chance at love.
I just love returning to the River’s Edge books. The characters feel like old friends to me and I like revisiting them and seeing who is new in town. I was immediately drawn into this first book in the Weaver Sisters series. I couldn’t wait to see how Jazz and Eli would rekindle the relationship that ended in high school after Eli broke up with Jazz just days before the senior prom. Both characters had a lot going on in their lives and didn’t even think about dating again until they ran into each other again.
This book has it all; a sweet second chance, great family dynamics, close friendships along with an interesting story line that kept my full attention through the entire book. This is a great start to a new series, featuring the Weaver triplets.
Home to river's edge written by Nan Reinhardt is a charming second chances at love book. Jasmine is forced to come back home to get herself back after a series of unfortunate events that she never saw coming. When she got back home she reconnects with Eli her high school crush, who was finding it difficult to move on after the deat of her fiancé. Together they come up with ways to deal with their respective situation and in the end they found each other. This is a well written and interesting romance book, can't wait to read about her sisters. I recommend this book to anyone who loves second chances contemporary romance.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
4.5 Stars. A new author and town to discover, and a beautiful cover. This story is about second chances. Jasmine and Elias were high school sweethearts who help each other heal. While I found Jasmine easily forgave Elias for breaking her heart, their rediscovered friendship and romance were sweet and entertaining. They make each other stronger with Jasmine wondering about her future and Elias overcoming grief. The Weaver Sister series comes with an interesting and fun cast. This well-written story introduced me to a writer whose storytelling I enjoyed as well as the town of River’s Edge, Indiana. I look forward to reading book two in the series which I assume will be about one of the other Weaver triplets, Jo or Jennifer. Reviewed for Still Moments Magazine.
This book wasn't marketed as a small-town romance, but it definitely fits the bill. And even though it's marked as romantic women's fiction, I'd put this under family fiction, as there's a lot of family on both sides that set you up perfectly for other books in River's Edge.
This second-chance romance features emotionally worn out former high school sweethearts who reconnect when Jasmine returns home after leaving her political job in D.C. I appreciate that Jasmine didn't hate coming home, she just hated the circumstances that made it necessary.
This slow-burn romance with lots of sweet interactions is full of unique characters in a cozy setting. It's the PG-13 version of a Hallmark movie.
I am DEFINITELY not the target audience. But I did not enjoy this. The whole evil, corrupt Congresswoman storyline was unnecessary and just dumb. The whole book felt like a poor women's Hallmark movie - young woman leaves home to make something of herself, has a bad experience, comes home, falls in love with her high school sweetheart, and gets literally every perfect thing handed to her. And the writing wasn't that good either. At one point, it actually puts the ingredients for a gin & tonic and then tells us it's a gin & tonic. Also, used "not" like this is 1992 and Screech from Saved By the Bell talking. Only finished it because one of my book clubs was reading it. Will not be reading the sequels.
Nan Reinhardt's River's Edge has become one of my favorite fictional places to visit, a close-knit, vibrant community filled with interesting characters who engage my emotions and make me want them as friends. HOME TO RIVER'S EDGE, book one in the new Weavers Sisters trilogy set within the long-running River's Edge series is an emotional story of second chances, starting over, and finding both your true calling and a forever love. If you enjoy contemporary romance filled with humor, heart, and tear-inducing happy endings, I recommend giving this one a try. I loved it.

I liked this book it was pretty good. I liked that the author took a subject I am sick of reading about (politics) and threw a twist to it. I liked Eli while he was still in his grief, you saw him work on himself and through some of the grief and really grow. I first was not a fan of Jazz I found her whiney, but she did some growing up and just let herself shine in everything she did. She was goal driven, super independent she was not going to let anything stand in her way from achieving her dreams. This book does have adult content in it so it may not be suitable for all readers. Overall this book was a fun read and I really enjoyed this group of friends and family.
Home To River’s Edge is a charmiing second-chance-at-love storyfor Jasmine Weaver and her former high school sweetheart Elias Walker. Fifteen years after he dumped her, Jasmine is back in River’s Edge Indiana to try and rebuild her life after being sacked from her high powered Washington DC job. Meanwhile, Eli is trying to move on two years after the death of his fiancée Amy. I enjoyed watching Jasmine and Eli get to know each other again, this time as adults, while at the same time helping each other to heal and move on. The townspeople and family make an excellent backdrop to this warm and wonderful love story. I’m looking forward to its sequel.
Jasmine moves back home after her life in DC implodes. She reconnects with Eli, her former high school sweetheart, who's still stumbling through the grieving process after the loss of his fiancee. Together, they forge a friendship, and help each other find their way again. I haven't read all of the River's Edge books, but enough of them that I've fallen in love with the town and its wonderful residents. Jasmine and Eli are no exception - absolutely perfect for each other, although it takes them a bit to realize that. Jasmine has always been drawn to politics, she left her home town and her other triplet sisters to chase her dreams, but when she chooses integrity over ambition she finds herself heading home again, homeless, jobless, feeling like her world has ended. Elias is recovering from major lose while trying to lead his family company, but life has lost its spark, that is until Jazz comes back to town. Is there still something between these ex high school sweethearts, can they help each other rebuild and find new directions??.
