The crash of a UFO in Roswell, NM has fascinated and amazed the public ever since reports of the incident emerged in the 1980s. Rupert Matthews takes a fresh look at the astonishing evidence and asks the critical questions did an alien spaceship crash and was there a government cover up? “Roswell” investigates witness reports, official documentation and press coverage to present a balanced view. “Roswell” is fully illustrated.
This one is very good weighing the pros and cons and coming to a conclusion: frantic days in July, the first encounter, Roswell reborn, the crash, the witnesses, changed story, the crash site retrieval, the debris field retrieval, the cover-up, Area51, hoax footage, the Airforce strikes back, balloon theory, dummies, big business for Roswell, conclusion. Together with many photos, illustrations, drawings and theories a well researched and catchy book into the subject. Highly recommended!
Tediously composed. I understand that the author is trying to look at the evidence from all of the available angles... But so much back and forth, and the unavoidable redundancy that comes with that, was just... too much. I could hardly bear to continue wading through it.
This is the first Roswell book I've read. The author doesn't try to influence you into believe or disbelieving anything, they just lay out all the information for you, even the stuff that he claims was later discredited. He lets you make an informed decision for yourself (although I have to say after reading through all the information I still am not sure what to believe). I found this thoroughly interesting to read (I may be slightly biased though being a huge fan of anything UFO related). It was also interesting to read the USAFs version of what happened at Roswell, although some of their reasonings discrediting what witnesses saw seem somewhat far fetched themselves.
