Kristianna discovers the magic of Scotland when she comes face to face with the man of her dreams - four hundred years in the past...

Art-history major Kristianna Campbell gets more education than she bargains for when she visits Scotland with her college class. On a shopping excursion she picks up an unusual souvenir-an antique pocket watch once owned by Iain MacGregor.
The enchanted watch pulls her back through time where she lands smack in the middle of Iain MacGregor's territory-in the year 1603, during the proscription against the MacGregors.
Unsure of where she is or how she got there, Kris is stunned when she sees Iain and realizes he's not exactly a stranger to her. She's dreamed of him for weeks. And her attraction to him is stronger in the flesh than in her dreams. Realizing the danger in revealing her real surname of Campbell, Kristianna tells him her last name is Armstrong.
The situation is tense as Iain battles enemies on all sides, thanks to King James VI and the decree that the name of MacGregor be outlawed, and the Earl of Argyll, Archibald Campbell's desire to see the MacGregors decimated. Iain has neither the time nor the inclination to deal with the strange lass who mysteriously landed in his territory.
But Kristianna affects him in ways no other woman has. To desire her is acceptable, but when she begins to reach the heart he thought long dead, he knows he will never be the same.

Review: Timeless Mist by Terisa Wilcox

Rating:5/5

Review:

👉Timeless Mist by Terisa Wilcox is a striking blend of history, fantasy, and romance that draws the reader into a world where passion and peril are inseparable. From its opening chapters, the novel captures the imagination with its intriguing premise and holds attention with its strong sense of place, emotional intensity, and well-crafted characters.

👉The story follows Kristianna Campbell, a modern woman who has grown disillusioned with love and the possibility of being truly understood. Her life changes in an instant when a journey to Scotland places an antique pocket watch in her hands. What had only been recurring dreams of a Highland warrior suddenly becomes reality as she is transported four hundred years into the past, into a time of clan warfare, distrust, and survival.

👉There she meets Laird Iain MacGregor, the very man who has haunted her dreams. Yet what should be a fateful connection is overshadowed by the reality of their names and histories. To the MacGregors, the Campbells are enemies, and to Iain, Kristianna represents a threat that cannot be ignored. The intensity of their relationship is born in this contradiction. Suspicion and loyalty battle against longing and desire, creating a dynamic that fuels the entire narrative.

👉Wilcox excels in portraying both the harshness and beauty of the seventeenth-century Highlands. The descriptions of the land, its unforgiving landscapes, and the struggles of clan life give the book a strong historical grounding. At the same time, the romantic elements elevate the story, adding layers of tenderness, yearning, and emotional conflict that balance the violence and distrust of the period.

👉Kristianna’s journey is not only about survival but about transformation. She enters a world where she is at once an outsider and a target, yet she learns to navigate the challenges with strength and courage. Her connection to Iain forces both of them to confront difficult truths about loyalty, family, and love. Their relationship is the novel’s beating heart—turbulent, passionate, and ultimately redemptive.

Happy reading 😁 😁

Rich in atmosphere and emotional intensity, the novel delivers a powerful journey across centuries, blending dreamlike romance with the brutal realities of the seventeenth-century Highlands.

Oh. My. Goodness. I am CRYING, and not in a bad way. This is the first time I've ever read a time traveler romantic fantasy and now I want more. It wasn't long ago I was chosen by Aoife herself to partake in the journey of Timeless Mist, and since that day I've been waiting most anxiously for the story to find me. I wish I could travel myself and read it again for the first time!

If Hallmark did time travel movies, this would be it. It was everything I had hoped for and then some. The HEA ending, of course, was my favorite part. I am overjoyed that I had the honor of reading this book, and I WILL be adding it to my physical wishlist. You should too.

Ravenheart Rating: 100/10 No that is not a typo.

Kristianna and Ian’s story is about forbidden love, redemption, attraction and pure passion! ( and everything in between)

Kristian a has to learn to navigate in a world where is didn’t belong.

The world building is unique and I could easily connect with the characters!

The story is sad and heart warming at the same time… but it has one strong message: love conquers all!

Beautiful, vivid and fluently written.

It’s highly recommended for people who like to read a high romantasy with a unique world building!.

Despite the cover, I took a chance on this book. This is the fifth highland-themed book I have started in a row and the only one I have finished. This was good but not great. I liked it well enough to read the next one that I assume is the sequel.

This is an instance where I should take notes of things that for me detracted from a five-star rating. There were little things along the way, really, but the ending was probably the biggest star-rating detonator. So illogical.

Not to give a spoiler but book 2 kind of redeems this ending.

I really loved the book, and the phrase"Don't judge a book by it's cover" really goes for the book and I think that everyone who says it's not good and whatever bad about the story, didn't really give it a chance. But really you have to read this book , because it's a chef d'oeuvre.

College student Kristianna Campbell has disturbing dreams about a Scotsman just prior to her planned visit to Scotland. At Castle MacGregor, Kristianna recognizes this man in the portrait of Iain MacGregor, laird of the MacGregor clan for a short time before he disappeared in 1604. On a visit to a small village, Kris spies an antique gold watch and touches it, immediately conjuring the image of Iain MacGregor, the watch’s owner. That night, examining the watch, she finds a small, hidden compartment and when she reads the verse inside is transported back in time to 1603. The first person she sees is Iain, who is suspicious of her appearance. Aware of the intense hatred between the MacGregors and the Campbells, Kris lies about her last name, terrified that Iain will consider her a spy if he knows. Iain MacGregor, worried about the safety of his clan and battling enemies from all sides, is intrigued by Kristianna, but he’s been betrothed twice before, both of whom betrayed him, and isn’t about to trust another lass. Realizing she is falling in love with Iain, Kris knows she must tell him the truth but is wary of Iain’s reaction and fears he will reject her.

Terisa Wilcox has penned an intriguing story, filled with interesting historical detail and dialogue so realistic as to transport the reader back in time to Scotland of the 17th century. Kristianna and Iain are charming characters and Wilcox relays their attraction to one another in a fun, entertaining way. The plot moves quickly and will hold the reader’s attention throughout as Wilcox cleverly weaves conflicts into the story that threaten the two lovers’ future.

I just finished this last night. Let me start by saying I enjoyed the overall story. However, there were some things that bothered me and I think it boiled down to bad editing. There were a number of places where there were extra words in sentences, like an extra "ye" in an awkward place. Really annoying was the multiple places where "where" was inserted in stead of "were". Then there were some lost threads. Like Kris stained her dress with glaze from the ham not wine as was later indicated. I was also bothered by what felt like an abrupt ending. I really wanted to see how it all came together and instead I felt like I got, a "Well, ok here's your HEA. We're done here."-Kind of ending. I wanted to see Iain and his mother prepare for him to go forward in time (or at least have him reveal to Kris what he had done to set things up). I mean really, unless he is independently wealthy how would he earn a living in 2009? I also would have liked to see Kris introduce Iain to her friends and family...What I am trying to say is that this was a good story. But it could have been a really wonderful one with some editing and better wrap up of the ending. That said I would still probably read more by Terisa cause I am thinking she can only get better at her craft. Oh and one last comment. Why did her publisher inflict that cover on this book! Ugh! I think cover art is so important in attracting readers. Even a plain cover with just the words on it would be better than bad artwork. I hope her next book has better art and better editing by the publisher.

OK this was a highlander time travel book. Usually some of my very favorites. This book gave too much away in the beginning and made it very predictable for the ending. It was overall a nice story. Romance consisted of holding hands and kissing. Not your typical highlander romance as I am an expert by now. Needed better romance and more twists and turns to earn above a 3 from me.
