The book starts with a very annoying performance. Rolling my eyes so much! 🙄🙄 The hero is a major manwhor3 🥵🤮🤢🤢 First, the heroine got the dorm she supposed to live with her three triples brothers because they were helping her with her bags and moving ect. Then she goes to her room and she meet up with her roommate who is currently having sex with some guy pounding her from behind. Her brothers saw that too and it was so freakin cringe. The heroine was so awkward cause of course she would be, her roommate so easily introduced herself while still having sex… The heroine say her name and her brothers even introduced themselves to that crazy woman. Then crazy woman proceed to touch her cl*t in front of them and moaning sh*t. The heroine was disgusted and tries run away but her brothers even hold the heroine and say “watch”. WTF. WHAT KIND OF BROTHERS ARE YOU. And those brothers are her older brothers! Not children! Okay freakin annoying way to start a book if i may add. Then what made me not gonna read the book cause when the hero’s POV starts, the hero is already waking up next to a woman who he recently fcked last night.

I know the hero from the first book is a manwhor3 but you really have to continue his manwhor3 way in his own book author? While he have to start a new romance with a new heroine that suppose to be his true love?! You really even have to start that way of saying he is definitely a manwhor3? 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵

NOT A GREAT WAY TO START A BOOK FOR ME THOUGH SO GOODBYE 😬😬😬

I don’t like a hero that is manwhor3 especially that starts with it 🤮🤮🤮 For me that is so disgusting 🥶
I rather save my energy and mind to continue this book. Who knows if the book already starts with that then the craziness will get more worse 😐 Probably will get better but the start of the book just gave me a bad feeling and little headache 😐

And this book is a second romance. I can’t imagine the drama and the annoying scenes that about to happens 🤢🤢

I LIKE THE FIRST BOOK FAR MORE BETTER THAN THIS ONE…. THE FIRST BOOK OF THE SERIES IS SO FREAKIN AMAZING I LOVE IT SO MUCH MORE.

And yes i read this second book because of the first book. But the beginning of this second book seriously really disgust me. STOP WITH THE MANWHOR3 FOR FVCK SAKE 🙄🙄🙄🙄

(SPOILER CAUSE MY COUSIN READ THE BOOK AND SHE SHOWS ME SOME SCENES AND TELL ME SOME STORIES ABOUT THE BOOK THAT MADE ME MORE SICK)

1. After the hero found out the heroine who is actually his ex for six years before his manwhor3 days is at the same campus and same class as him, he immediately went after her. And when they meet up again and have this talk about their past especially from the heroine side of the story, they got emotional. And they went back to the heroine’s place and the heroine proceed to say to the hero to have sex with her. And SHE ALSO TOLD HIM TO DON’T WEAR A CONDOM WHEN THE HERO FEW DAYS AGO ALREADY FVCKED SOMEONE ELSE. And the hero didn’t even say that to the heroine! The heroine knows the hero is a manwhor3 because her best friend slash roommate told her constantly but she is okay with him having sex with her already without protection. While knowing he is a manwhor3. WHAT THE FVCK!!!!!!!

2. Also the hero after he have sex with the heroine, he still won’t forgive the heroine for leaving him three years ago. And he say to himself that he won’t forgive the heroine so easily. And then he saw some beautiful girl with a very sexy clothes on and sexy body, he immediately say he wants her. Wtf. But thank godmothers that that girl turns out to be the heroine. BUT STILL…. WHAT THE FVCK???!

3. The heroine never have sex with anyone else for three years. BUT THE HERO HIMSELF FVCKS LITERALLY ANYBODY IN CAMPUS AND HAVE A THREESOME ECT. WTF!!!!!! 🤮🤮🙄🙄🙄🤢 I HATE WHEN AUTHORS MADE A COUPLE LIKE THAT…. Especially when the hero is a major manwhor3 and while the heroine didn’t fvck anyone else…. i hate that part so much! Especially the hero himself said that he fvcks girls that have the same hair color as the heroine! SICK AF🥵🥵🥵

YEAH. SO GLAD I DIDN’T READ THIS BOOK TILL THE END.

👉🏽👉🏽👉🏽Thank you so much for reading my review❤️❤️ For you who loves my review and follow it, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I did not get paid or be told to do a review on a book. I’m here just to write review about a book so i can remember it. Its my honest opinion😚 I didn’t know at first people will find me and follow me and trust me to be honest, I was surprised myself to look at the notifications from people who reach out to me😆 So everything i write down here on a review is based on my personal opinion and based on my true writing. I DID NOT COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW OR WRITING SKILL because at first when i was using this app for one year i didn’t know how to scroll down on a book and see the reviews from others😂😅🤣 I know, silly me but hey I finally learned my lesson 😛😛😛 Thats why when people assume i copy someone’s review i was like what? Because at first i didn’t know how to use this app properly and i didn’t know how to open someone’s review because for a year i never follow someone or add friends or someone😂😂😂🤣 (I’m laughing so hard) 🤪 AND I NEVER COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW EVER. IF I WRITE SOMETHING WRONG OR DOESN’T MAKE SENSE PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND BE NICE OKAY. 👈🏽👈🏽👈🏽✋🏽✋🏽 IF YOU'RE BEING MEAN AND NEGATIVE ALREADY WITH A WARNING AND NOT BEING WISE TO ME, I WILL NOT ENTIRELY READ YOUR COMMENT AND REMOVE YOU EASILY AND FAST. I DO NOT TOLERATE NEGATIVE COMMENT SO KNOW YOUR PLACE, THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I’m writing my disclaimer again here cause many negative people still don't get it or still be stupid enough not to understand my POV when I already write it so many times before. So here I am writing it again to you beautifuls human being😁😁 WHEN YOU READ MY LONG OR SHORT REVIEW, YOU WOULD KNOW THAT WHAT I LIKE ABOUT A STORY AND CHARACTERS RIGHT... IF YOU DON'T KNOW THEN HERE IT IS: I LIKE A BOOK WITH VERY POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE ALPHA MALE, NO CHEATING, AND PLEASE NO MANWHOR3, NO MANY PUSHING AWAY, NO DOORMAT HEROINES, NO MANY OW DRAMA, NO S3X SCENE WITH SOMEONE ELSE. AND SAFE ALL THE WAY AND A HAPPY ENDING. Something that I don't like it very much if the hero or heroine have a crazy fvcked up personality and likes. Example: killing someone and let the heroine watch it all and push the heroine to lick all the blood of his victim and made her have to eat the meat of humans. and fvcks many woman in front of the heroine while telling her he loves her. I DON'T LIKE THAT TYPE OF SH*T AT ALL. That's just who I am, that's what I like and I don't like on a book. Maybe you love that, but I don't. We humans are different, we think very differently from one another. You have your likes and I have mine, you have your opinions and I have mine of my own. You think it's stupid of me to love such a book or to not love a book or to hate it whatever lol, I think it's bad you think that way cause I respect people's opinions cause I know for a fact we have our differences. YOU AND ME ARE DIFFERENT FOR PETE'S SAKE. I even have my own friends or people I follow here that shows how much they don't like the book I like, I never even give them a long comment or short Comment. Cause I respect their opinions. I don't like to give people I hard time here cause life itself is already hard enough. I do respect your opinion if you say my review is bad or whatever negative things about it, but in the end of the day I will not changed my mind about what book I dislike and how my thoughts about it. You can't tell me what to do. You can give me advice but it's me who decided to know what's right for me, this is my life and not yours. Read that again. Don’t assume things about me that is not even real, just don’t. cause when you do you’re more small minded for sure. You're thinking why I'm telling you all of this when you already know? Is because you still hating on my opinions and don't understand my POV and don't respect my POV. You think i like writing this disclaimer when obviously you're an adult already? no i personally think this is unnecessary... but because there are people out there who still don't get it *rolling my eyes*. Hopefully they or the people who read this disclaimer can use a beautiful thing called a brain:) AND WHEN YOU READ MY REVIEW, READ IT VERY CLEARLY TO SEE IF I FINISHED THE BOOK OR NOT. KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. AND YES ENGLISH IS NOT MY FIRST LANGUAGE. BUT IF YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M WRITING, THEN IT MEANS YOU UNDERSTAND IT ENOUGH. I DO NOT TOLERATE BULLYING, NEGATIVE COMMENTS AND MEAN WORDS. PLEASE USE A WISE WORDS SO WE DON'T ATTACK EACH OTHER. SIMPLY, I DON’T LIKE TO HAVE AN ARGUMENT WITH STRANGERS LIKE YOU CAUSE I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO😚 BUT IF YOU STILL WANT TO BE AMBER HEARD KARENS THAT DON'T UNDERSTAND MY DISCLAIMER AFTER I JUST WRITE IT DOWN, THEN GO ENJOY YOUR DAY AND GO AWAY. IT'S VERY EASY FOR A HUMAN COULD DO YA KNOW. IF YOU STILL HERE HATING ME OR ANNOYED WITH ME, THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM. NOT ME PROBLEM. HASHTAGS BURN😂😂 DON'T TAKE THINGS TOO PERSONALLY ON ONLINE CAUSE WE ALL A STRANGERS, WE NEVER EVER MEET. WE'RE ADULTS HERE SO LETS BE WISER. LAST, I BLOCK NEGATIVE PEOPLE! SO GET WELL SOON TO THE HATERS. HOPEFULLY YOUR HEART AND MIND WILL BE MORE POSITIVE 🙏🙏🙏 AND THIS DISCLAIMER MAY SEEMS LIKE TOO HARSH ON YOU BUT HEY I DON'T LIKE TO SUGAR COATED THINGS. I LIKE TO SAY TO THE POINT WITH MY UNDERSTANDING AND MY OWN THOUGHTS, CAUSE THAT'S HOW HUMANS ARE. WE ARE DIFFERENT REMEMBER👍 HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!

Book two was very similar makeup of book one, but like different font.

We have childhood friends to lovers, one leaves, but then later there paths cross again, and we have a second chance romance.

We got the captain of the hockey team and notorious man whore, and the innocent girl who's only ever been with him. There is a lot of misogynistic undertones in this book that gave me the icks, beyond like some of the stuff we love to overlook in some stories. I hate the whole, he is a slut but she's only ever been with him and he loves that she is "untouched". Gag.

And we had like a repeat sexual assault like the first book which now I feel like is a trend and gives me even more icks. And also the fact that in both stories both girls just immediately want to sleep with their men to "forget" what happened? I just feel like the sexual assault in these stories didn't have a point more than, shock factor, and our MMC getting to come and play hero and save them.

Book one was meh. This one was even more meh.

Actually could not get past page 75. The siblings in this are wayyyyy to open with each other about their sex lives. it’s really weird. and within the first 65 pages, the mmc and fmc fucked and then he basically told her it meant nothing. ew. like wtf.

update. five minutes later. forcing myself to read more, still is not any better. i’m having to skim read.

update. two minutes later. she was happy for once and he just ruined it bc he felt like it was “his duty” to not let her take dancing classes.

update. one minute later. HE JUST SAID SHE AND I QUOTE. “Look at yourself, Cass. You look like a cheap whore. I didn’t realize you’d taken up residence on the street corner.”

update. idk how much later this is. i’m choosing peace, kindness and happiness for the rest of today. and will not be picking this up for a while. 5am-Dec 31. (aka i’ll see you in a couple hours probably) also ending on page 151 tonight.

update. days later. forgot to finish this but still didn’t like it, obviously. but feel free to give the book a try, i might’ve just been in a bitchy mood 🤗

Second chance romances always put me in my feels. There is always one holding a grudge and I just want them to be together. We met Jaxon in the first Kings of Denver book, and I didn't care for him too much. After reading this one, I feel for him so much. There were some big misunderstandings, but everything gets aired out in this one.

I loved Cassie! She has only cared for Jaxon and thought she was doing the right thing years ago. I love how protective her brothers are of her and would do whatever it takes to see her happy. I was rooting for these two from the beginning of the book, and hoping Jaxon wouldn't do something dumb, but was really pleased with how the whole book came together.

Kings of Denver is nowhere near as dark as some of Sheridan's other books, but this one did have a bit of darkness to it at the end, so be mindful of that. I cannot wait until the next one, I need to know more about Xander!!

MF/dual POV/second chance/first loves/HEA/college sports romance/angst/heartbreak/sexual assault/stalking/body mutilation

This is the 2nd book in the Kings of Denver series. Each book follows a different set of characters and can be read as a stand alone but to get the most of the series it is suggested to read the books in order. (We did have a few nice little cameo from our favorite dream team and their girls from book 1)

Jaxon is the new captain for the Denver Dragons. He doesn't do repeats, and definitely no commitment. That ship sailed 3 years ago when he got left with a broken heart and no answers. But when the reason for that broken heart shows up in one of his classes, his whole world tilts on its axis. This is his senior year and hockey is his life. He doesn’t need the distraction, but those feelings are still simmering deep in the depths of his soul…

Cassie is back in Denver after spending 3 years in New York. On top of being miserable there, her family needed her home… but that also puts her back in line with her one and only true love. She broke his heart and now he’s not the same boy she left.. but being thrust back into Jaxon’s life has her doing everything she can to win him back.

Right from the start the prologue had me all up in my feelings and screaming “ahhhh, no, don’t do it!“ But then it was on… you know those times in a second chance romance where you’re anticipating the “reunion” and you just can’t read it fast enough because you know its coming and its going to go one of two ways and you cant wait to see which… yeah that was me the whole beginning…luckily we didn’t have to wait too long. Jaxon seemed a bit goofy in the brief moments we got him in book one. But his character has so much more depth with this being his book. I loved Cass and Jax’s relationship. They obviously had their ups and downs but when things got discussed they only had eyes for each other, and were able to build on the preexisting love they felt. I always love the super wild and fun relationship between the FMC and her bestie. Bri frequently had me laughing out loud, same goes for Cass’ brother Carter. I kinda hope there’s a book out there for them. But in the mean time, I was very intrigued with what’s going on with Xander and I’m ready to find out what’s been going on with him.

2.5⭐️ 2.25🌶️

I didn’t have high expectations coming in as I’d read the first in the series which wasn’t great, but I’d already purchased the audio so I gave it a try.

I actually liked Jaxon (although the reformed manwhore trope really works better when the MCs are older). He is living his best college life and hopeful to be drafted into the NHL.

Cassie I was more ambivalent about. I didn’t dislike her but I was also frustrated by her character. The story starts 3 years prior (both MCs are 18 and about to go to college) during a scene where she leaves town ghosting Jaxon and leaving him heartbroken.

Was there a reason for her leaving like a thief in the night? Nope. This was probably the most annoying thing. The only semblance of explanation were her inner thoughts as she left Jax’s room

I need to get away and discover myself. Be happy and confident in my own skin.

Which ok I guess could make sense if we knew anything about our her struggles or why she was feeling trapped. Even then, the way she left made no sense either. And frankly just bothered me.

Then she proceeded to be miserable in New York until she finally came back to Denver but was too stubborn to admit it? seriously? And during these 3 years she was gone both her parents die (separately). After the first, that wasn’t a signal to do what makes you happy?

At least Cassie was self aware of her mistake and how showing up in Jax’s life would be surprising and she had no expectations of picking up where they left off.

Anyway….the actual story fine, but was filled with typical college dialogue and misogyny that authors seem to employ in sports romances. Which I can get past with an eye roll but knowing those books will never be over 3 stars. I did not enjoy any of the secondary or peripheral characters and found her roommate to be so annoying. She was the cliché sex positive, fun girl, but all fluff and no substance.

Don’t even get me started on the opening scene with her original roommate 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

All that said, the way Jax and Cass are drawn to each other I could believe and I was happy to see them find peace with the past and move on.

However, the stalker plot line was so one dimensional and random. I get it took place if a third act break, but I kind of would rather chance had that 😂

“Can I treat you like a filthy little whore after?”

I would say yes, if you weren’t a total dipshit. Only top tier men can do that and I’m sorry but reading a book about your life tells me you don’t fuck the best. I don’t believe it. I don’t know why someone would want to sleep with someone for bragging points.

This book embodies the term messy. Both characters are so drawn from each other and both so distant arcs. Cass’s mental health is overlooked largely, and the book made no sense. The sa was overlooked, how it affected Cassie. It was like the book was stopped by then. I get it the stalking and breaking into her house, but it didn’t need to be in the book. I felt it didn’t add anything to the storyline.

Cassie was also like just giving me a pick me girl behavior. She literally sang at her brothers wedding.

“I look out at the crowd and am humbled to see them all come to their feet and applaud for me.”

Like come on it’s their first dance at their wedding, also during the ceremony before the bride has come as she’s walking down the aisle she kisses her brother on the cheek, then she complains that she’s upset that Jax is one of the groomsmen.

And can we talk about Bobby and Brianna who seem in love with each other. I mean Bobby already committed incest so he should have no problem with it.

“Never have I ever gotten drunk at a wedding and accidentally screwed my cousin.”

This book was so unnecessary.

This is another dual perspective, his and hers, college hockey romance. This one is more of a second chance romance. I hated how long it took to get all of the pieces to the backstory. I felt like she was a jerk, that feeling didn't exactly change by the end. Some steam, some tears, some lighthearted moments. On the sports side of things, this leads right into the next book. You get close and you are off to the next player who will be a senior. This series just flies from one school year to the next so everyone is always seniors. This had to potential to be super cliche, but overall felt slightly less played out than the first book.

Who would have thought that I was going to like Jaxon's book that much?? Clearly not me. But I did. I really enjoy it.
I really like the way he was always in love with Cass and that was the reason behind his behaviour in the previous book.
My only issue was that I wish we had a long epilogue. I need it more of them. More of their happy ending.

1st I’ve read of this series and author

Before you star this book please be aware and check your TW as there are several heavy triggers. That being said, I did enjoy this book. It was the 1st I’ve read in this series which I normally, always start with the first then go down. Guess I felt like a rebel today. We go through a lot in this book, basically every damn emotion you have the author will drag out of you. It’s absolutely heartbreaking in so many ways. I did however feel disappointed to find out the real reason Cass just took off and left. It really didn’t make sense or fit her family, or her relationship at all. And to stay gone for 3 years at that, while her mother suffered through Cancer again. It made zero sense. Also, maybe it was disclosed in book one but why do we hate Jax’s parents and why couldn’t he have his stuff? Weird.

Also, I wish we had more interaction with her brothers and her and them with Jax. They were great. And the whole stalker thing should have been realized when stuff kept going missing and when he attacked Jax. There was zero communication between anyone over this which was weird.

I loved how coach had his back. He was a great supporting cast member. Now, I’m deep in and have to read the rest of the series. They are quick reads and my only ick factors are I hate when men always become the manwhore then we just say oh ok, understandable. It’s so cliche and ick. Also, I did feel the ending was very abrupt and rushed. We needed more of them in the after. After the incident, and creating the HEA. It was a few lil pages and done. Which always seems so lazy to me, like the writer just gave up. After what we went through to get the Hea I feel like we deserve more.

If there’s one thing I can expect from reading a book by Sheridan Anne, it’s that she’ll rip my emotions out through my nostrils. Eeeeevery time. I love it.

This book is not exception. If you’ve read the first Kings of Denver book (Not Your Pucking Girl), then you met Jaxon Payne - playboy extraordinaire, and the next captain of the Dragons hockey team. In this book, you’ll get a deep dive into why Jaxon is the way he is. You’ll also meet Cassie, a blast from his past. They have some serious history, and both a still suffering from the damage caused by a decision that Cass made three years ago.

I really liked Cass. She made a decision and I can respect her reasons for it. She made mistakes, and she owns them. She doesn’t offer excuses or justifications to make herself look better. She messed up and she knows it. She’s a fantastic main character, and her emotions and actions are highly relatable.

I didn’t particularly love Jaxon in book one, but getting that look behind the curtain totally changed my mind. The man is in pain and he does his best to ignore it, cover it up, and move on. He’s not totally successful at that. He comes across as a jerk before this book but he surprised the heck out of me, with the way he treated Cass when he first discovered that she was back and the way he acted when he found out some difficult news later on. He’s a dynamic character with lots of depth and I looooove him.

There are some triggers for this story so make sure you check those out! The plot is suspenseful and spicy, definitely keeps the pages turning!!

ok so this book was pretty cute but i felt like it went super fast. so jaxon is on the same hockey team as miller and tank (from the first book) but he’s a year younger so he’s the captain now that miller is gone and is a fullll blown player like new girl every night thing bc his soul mate from high school up and left him in the middle of the night three years ago. cassie left bc she found out jax was gonna propose even tho they just graduated high school and she freaked and dipped (like not the best reason for her to leave a 6 year long relationship with her soul mate but whatever). anyways three years later she ends up at the same school as jax and is roommates with jaxs best friends twin sister and he finds out she’s on campus. safe to say he’s pissed but they get over it pretty quickly tbh and get back together. however cassie ends up getting a stalker (what is with all these books and fucking stalkers) but anyways he kidnaps her at the end of the book and it’s not awesome for her but jax saves her again along with her three triplet brothers (one of which is now with her roommate shocker lol) anyways the book ends with the hockey team back to back champions and he officially asks cassie to marry him and she says yes!! jax also gets signed to the NHL in colorado which just happens to be the same team the cassie’s brother plays for so that’s kinda cutie they all stay together. overall i thought it was cute that they rekindled but it just seemed kinda fast and the steam was there but not crazy crazy

I won’t lie, Jaxson was a little pissant in Not Your Pucking Girl. However, I knew he would be redeemable and boy was he ever.

Jax and Cassie had a love written in the stars since they were twelve years old. Naturally, nothing comes easy to the Kings of Denver. They have to work their asses off, they suffer tragedies yet being the kings they are they always come out on top.

Second chance romances usually aren’t my jam because it’s usually something ridiculous or childish that separated them in the first place. But add in hockey, hunky guys and humor that is unique to Sheridan Anne and I was hooked!

In Your Pucking Dreams was another feel good read that I didn’t want to end.

I loved that Miller and Dani along with Tank and Sophie made an appearance. Brianna was absolutely perfect and the best friend any girl could ask for. Cassie’s brothers are hilarious and I cannot wait to dive into their stories next.

I only had one little issue, when Cassie got the tattoo, she drank vodka before. Yea, yea she wasn’t wasted, it was just a little liquid courage then getting drunk afterwards. It was just a little tattoo, so it can be overlooked but generally that’s a big no no. First off a tattoo artist shouldn’t ink anyone under the influence and afterwards, alcohol thins your blood and would increase the bleeding. That’s just me being nit-picky and in no way whatsoever took away from my enjoyment of the book.

Bring on book 3 please!!!

Ok Jaxon is my new fave!

Where have I been? Seriously, where was I when these first came out?

I didn’t know what to expect going into this and I love it. It’s the best way to read this series so far.i was left at the edge of my seat the whole time. I absolutely love the chemistry and connection the characters have. I mean Jax! Need I say more?

I found Cassie relatable in this one. There were certain things about her that either reminded me of myself or someone else I know and I liked that it made the experience reading feel more immersive and like I was consumed by the journey. The story is captivating and compelling and there were moments that set it apart from other College Romances which gave the story an original unique twist. The drama was well placed and wasn’t over the top. The growth from the characters was steady and clear to see and I didn’t want this one to end.

This world has been incredible and there have been moments where I was reflective and wished I had experienced at that age. I mean I could do without the drama but just that undeniable connection to someone always has me swoon. Absolutely loved this book. I hope theres a bit more tension in the next book and maybe a little darkness too. I guess we will see in the next book.

I don’t even know where to start. I think this one was worse than the first one.
This book starts with Cass (our fmc) arriving at school with the help of her 3 older brothers. When she gets to her dorm she opens to the door to find her roommate getting it on with a guy and her brother’s wont let her leave the room & force her to watch 🤢 I mean, sure dude you like what you like but to make your sister watch with you… weird and gross. I should have DNFed there. After that the story just becomes more ridiculous, annoying and over dramatic. Jaxon (our mmc) spends almost the entire book going back and forth between “No I can’t forgive her. I want nothing to do with her” to “I need her. No one else can even look at her.”

The writing itself feels clunky and repetitive. Take this excerpt for example

“After getting back to campus with a plan to spend my day working out and going over some assignments, I promptly fall asleep on the couch, not waking until nearly nightfall.

I have a lot to think about where Cass is concerned, especially after everything that happened at the wedding, and so I did the only thing that helps me sort through my head in times like these—practically kill myself in the gym. The moment I returned back to my place, I promptly collapsed on the couch, which is where I’ve stayed ever since, assuming Cass wouldn’t be back on campus until late afternoon.”
Two paragraphs in a row where Jaxon “promptly falls on the couch”

This second-chance romance destroyed me.

I usually don't read second-chance books because of the emotional damage that it brings... don't judge me. ALTHOUGH, I always read books without reading the blurb first because I have no triggers and like to be surprised about what is happening in the book.
In Your Pucking Dreams RUINED my entire soul last night. I binged it in one sitting because I clearly liked the way my emotions were all over the place with the main characters. Let me tell you though, I never once thought I would fall for Jaxon Payne because he was a jerk at the beginning... and then his story played out... his pain... his grief... his loss... UGH! I fell in love with him. It was a rude awakening at 1:30 in the morning, let me tell ya.
So if you like second-chance romance books with steam, angst, plot, grief, pain, and soul-withering heartbreak... this book is for you. Please check the triggers before diving in though, as there are a few that may not be okay for your mental well-being.

This was so good I couldn't put it down the whole time. I just loved Cassie and her snarky self and those 3 brother's of her's were a hoot. This is the 2nd book in the King's of Denver this time it's Jaxon's turn and after reading his story it explains why he acted the way he did in the 1st book Not your Pucking Girl. Cassie and Jax pretty much grew up together when he moved in next door to her when he was 12 they fell in love were going to college together until the day she left without a word leaving him with a broken heart and now three years later she's back and going to the same school as he is, so now she just has to avoid him the whole year till he goes to the NHL sounds easy right. ..uh that's a no, because Jax is very angry and hurt, can she get him to forgive her she's never stopped loving him, so her roommate Brianna comes up with a plan to get back her man. I tell you, Bri is the bestfriend every girl needs. She's my kind of people. I would love for her to get her hea as well as all the other side character's . I'd absolutely would recommend reading.

loved it

It’s Jax’s senior year of university and he is officially the team Captain. All he wants is to bring his team to the finals for a second championship while warming his bed puck bunnies (no repeat performances allowed). Jax was burn in the past and he won’t let himself be vulnerable again.

Cassie returns after being gone for three years and at first she is trying to avoid Jax because seeing him in person is a reminder of everything that she walked away from.

Her efforts don’t get her too far especially since she befriends his best friend without meaning to and is room mates with said besties younger sister.

Their reunion broke me because you can see the hurt that was on both sides. There was a lot of silence and confusion during the period that they were separated. Not only did Jax lose Cassie but her older brothers as well who he considered family.

There is a lot of hurt in this book but I feel like it was handled well and brought them towards their happily ever after. As always with Sheridan’s books there is a lot of suspense/heart wrenching moments with steamy scenes and great banter. Now, on to the next!

In your Pucking Dreams is the second book in the Kings of Denver Series. This book is about Jaxon and Cassie. We met Jaxon in the first book, as a party animal who wouldn't be with the same woman twice.

Now it is his senior year of college, and he is the new Captain of the hockey team and is doing whatever he can to prove his worth to the team. However, when Cassie, the girl from his past who broke his heart three years ago shows up on campus, things get difficult for Jaxon.

Cassie left without a trace and now that she's back she realizes she still has feelings for Jaxon. Can she forgive him for his playing ways? Can Jaxon forgive Cassie for leaving without a word? Will they finally get their happy ending?

I loved this book so much. It is a great second-chance romance. I loved getting to know Jaxon deeper than what we saw in book one. The hurt the characters went through really brought out the feelings in me. I can't wait to see what happens next in this series.

Jaxon & Cass

I love second chance romances, and this one is exactly one that fits all the boxes for that.
Jaxon and Cass' story has a past full of love and promises until one day it is all over. For no reason.
Cassandra left town overnight and now, three years later she is back in Denver and at the same College as Jaxon. She learns fast that he isn't the same boy she used to know anymore. And that is on her.
Jaxon was heartbroken and nowadays only wants to have his fun.
At Cass' return he is taken aback. Old feelings, and not only good ones get to the surface. He still feels something for her but isn't able to trust her again. Ever.
He is still the only one she loves, he doesn't do love anymore.
Will there be a second chance for two people you loved each other most of their lives till fears broke them.
And when everything is close to working out, something bad happens.
Is this the end before it could really begin?
I really loved Jaxon, Cass and everyone that came with their story. Everything and everyone fit perfectly and made the story unique and wonderful.

Jaxon. The new captain of the Denver Dragons. We got to see a little bit of him in book 1 when he was part of, what did Miller call it, the triple threat? , no no no he didnt like that. Oh well. He was an amazing player. Back to my points.

This book follows him and brings back his past and why he is the way he is. Unbeknownst, Cassie leaves him and he is left heartbroken and he doesnt understand why. 3 years later she is back in his life and his world is flipped upside down.

Their love is one for the ages. Even after three years, its still just as hot, heavy, and deep as it was before Cassie left.

Can Jaxon give Cassie the time of day and give up the walls he built?

Sheridan did a good job keeping you wanting more in this book. Leaving you craving the next interaction. The next chapter, the wanting.

Loved!

I didn’t know how Jax would be redeemed enough to warrant a book, considering early on in the last book he was treated like an absolute little b….

But, I was not disappointed. If anything; I may have loved this book more. Jax and Cassie were a lot of fun. It starts with their already established love story falling to shambles so the only point from there is up.

The only reason I didn’t 5 star this book is because the conflict that we lead up to wasn’t explained and felt rather rushed. The basement scene is very graphic and super serious, which was shocking considering this book was very light up until that point. But then after the fact, it’s hardly mentioned or dealt with past that first night.

I also wish the dynamic with Jaxon’s parents was explained to explored a little more….

Nevertheless loved this!

Ok I definitely liked this one more than the first one. I had a lot of fun.

PLEASE LOOK UP TRIGGER WARNINGS, there are some heavy topics discussed further into the book.

Yes it still felt like a gosh dang fever dream but that is likely just because it's under 300 pages and the author wants to fit everything in the story, which made it really easy to read and to want to continue to pick up.

I think I liked this more because Cassie was less annoying than Dani in the beginning but I loved seeing the mains from the previous book coming to support their old team.

Half of my annotations were my wattpad brain thinking of the most insane scenarios which half the time were untrue but some times i was right.

In my opinion these books are a good entry into hockey romances because techniques of the play aren't heavily described.
