This is my first Thrasher novel and I am so impressed. I had heard his style was easy to read, and boy was it ever! I flew through this story. It was an exciting, edge of your seat fast paced story.
It was written in second person, which was an adjustment in the beginning, but you quickly got used to it.
The themes are centred around a potential affair and online struggles, so this is important to mention. The topic is usually something that isn't covered in an accurate and real-life challenge type of way. Thrasher managed to tackle these themes with the hope that these things can be rejected, overcome, and by God's grace be removed from our story.
I really liked the uncertainty of what was going to happen from moment to moment, and the mystery of what the heck was going on all the way until the end!

Content Warning - contains cheating all through, some minor violence and adult themes.

I really started this book much later than I scanned it into Goodreads. I read it in 24 hours. It’s a very fast read. Thrasher brings to light temptation and how easy it is to take every day for granted. He brings to fruition losing oneself and then rekindling an eternal relationship. While some of it may feel far fetched, is it really far fetched when temptation dances so close? 5 stars for a fast read that dares to shed light on lust and temptation.

I guess because I'm not a man, I had difficulty comprehending why Michael kept chasing after this crazy woman and getting himself into so much danger, no matter how beautiful she was. It also bothered me how the story was written with the word "you."

Interesting and quick read… all takes place in like a 24 hour period. Struggles of a boring but safe life and an exciting but dangerous life.

A Christian man on business in NYC encounters temptation, crazy escapades with street thugs and bodyguards all because of one beautiful woman. It is a great read.

Michael is stuck in his career, in his marriage, in his relationship with Christ. Let me just say he never forgets who he is married to nor does he forget where he belongs in any of the chapters.
When I first started reading this book I didn't want to like it. No one really wrote a review on this book that made me want to go any further than the first chapter, but I did. Ok so reading in second person wasn't great at first, I got over it. I really like this book! The woman you first meet in the begining introduces herself as "Jasmine". I know she is not harmless, but I didn't know how "unharmless" she really was untill the midddle to end of the book. I found myself getting scared, frustrated then angry with Michael through out the book. At the end I only hoped for his safety. There are sooo many demons that haunt our lives and they come in all shapes and sizes. I believe many of them start out just as beautiful as "Jasmine". We don't see who they really are untill God shines his perfect light in the darkest part of our lives. I like how our author takes us through Michael and Jasmines story at night. and then takes us through Michael's "eye opening" moment in the light of the morning.

Response: Nice distracting read while being up with Rolland in the middle of the night. A couple unexpected plot twists. Appreciated the treatment of being tempted and giving into the world’s pleasures, and the character’s progress toward God and healing, but despite the fact that the book is all about character development, I never really felt connected to the main character. Maybe because I got annoyed by all his stupid choices until the happy ending, which felt a little Disneyfied.

This is a powerful and chilling story about the consequences of giving in to tempation. Our narrator is a business man on a trip to New York who starts out innocently sipping wine and flirting with a pretty young woman. As hour by hour of the night goes by he gets pulled deeper and deeper into a tangle of lust, violence, and out of control behavior. Just how far will he go? This is a great suspense story with a moral lesson thrown in, read it for one or the other or both.

This is the first Christian book that I have read that is a thriller. Fast-paced and plot driven, I had a hard time putting it down. I am impressed with this author and will be reading more by him in the future.

This was an unusual book--written in 2nd person and took place in a period of about 24 hours. I enjoyed it, but it didn't grab me to the point where I couldn't put it down.

Very different book. Not really much of a "plot", per se, but a very interesting concept, and a great overall message. I really enjoyed it.

Interesting look at how men think about potential cheating and their relationships. I would say this is a Christian based book if that matters to you.
