I expected the wackiness and nonsense, but did not expect the sweetness. Really good read.

Girly will always be one of my top webcomics of all time. It's a sex comedy adventure with two female leads in a wacky world that throws fun at comedy, Saturday morning cartoons, comic constructions. You name it. It's off beat and off the god damn wall. I've never read a comic more nuts. You have a man so sexy no woman can resist him, a man who tells everyone about his penis in graph form, a woman who can barely change direction because her father is a copy paste comic character, and a depressed straight man lead who gets hot over the head with a giant dildo by her live interest by page 3. It'll keep the punches going and when you read it you feel like you're holding on for the ride.

It's a webcomic the art is charming and improves over time with its pink tone newspaper clip style. But, it is certainly rough in the beginning. Considering what it is though I can't be harsh on it. It was made for free online before being published. It's just how it is with most early webcomics. Yet I still find the early art rough yet charming. Even if rough the art direction is still there.

But even if it's comedy coming out all ends it doesn't skimp on the chemistry between the two leads and the world building. It's a long comic. So even if it's nuts, it never feels flat. The world feels vibrant yet alien. The character becoming more developed over time while still wacky and charming. It all grows on you. And even after reading this so many times, I still find myself tearing up at that last panel.

Girly is nuts, funny, extremely queer, and if that sounds like something you'd like. Then girly is a comic for you.

Reading the updated version after nearly 2 decades.

Jackie always made me laugh back then, and she still does now. I always wondered how 'Josh' managed to write such a credible wlw story, and it makes so much sense that Jackie wrote it.

I think the pants spree is one of my favourite moments in literary history.

I just stumbled upon this comic in the last few years & it's one of the few webcomics that I actively looked to buy. Lesnick is a fantastic artist & it really is fun to see how much he's matured as an artist over the years. From his first gag strip of Cutewendy (which is in the same universe as Girly) to the most recent strips, his artwork has been very fun to look at.

Trying to describe Girly is fairly difficult, to be honest. There's just so much that goes on in this comic that it's hard to pin it down to just one story arc, so I'll just describe it from the start. Otra is an antisocial loner who spends most of her time shooting people off into space when they annoy her. (Which happens quite frequently.) It isn't until she discovers the beautiful Winter that she begins to change & accept more people into her life. She tries to avoid Winter, which doesn't work since Winter is determined to insert herself into Otra's life, for better or for worse. (Mostly for the better.)

I've really loved this series & when I found myself re-reading the internet strips from the very beginning, I decided it was time to purchase this comic. Like I said in the beginning, the artwork in this is really good. Sure, these first few strips are a little rough when you look at his current level of art, but the comedy in these early strips is really good. I'd go as far as to say that Lesnick is one of the best webcomic artists on the internet right now. Not only does he manage to keep his comic fresh & continually tries to improve upon it, but he also has set story arcs & a defined ending- a rarity in regular comics/graphic novels, let alone webcomics.

If you like funny, sexy comics, you'll love this series. If you don't, then I still recommend getting this. Lesnick is worth spending the money on.
