I'm an author illustrator. My books are inspired by the gooniness of children. I have always loved drawing

I am a self taught as an illustrator and studied Theology at Cambridge. I learned the tricks of the trade by drawing objects to scale for the Oriental Galleries of the British Museum, and then later working on newspapers.

My books have been widely translated, and one, The Twins, was adapted for a cartoon series.

I will start of by stating that I may be a little biased, both because of the subject matter and the author. I was born on the border between Kent and Sussex, and John Wallace was a former teacher of mine who imbued me with a love of learning and, in particular a love of German.

This book is an evocative review of the season in which Sussex County Cricket Club finally won the County Championship. It includes match reports, photographs and, for any cricket fan, statistics and averages.

Yes, it may be for a niche market, but that isn't to say it isn't good.

I've supported Sussex since I first started watching cricket way back in 1994 so it has been great to see all the success of the recent years. This was a good book remembering a great season for the boys!
