For more than 30 years Tony Robbins' passion has been helping people BREAK THROUGH and take their lives to another level -- no matter how successful they already are -- in the areas that matter most: their business, personal finance, intimate relationships, families, careers and health.

Tony Robbins has helped more than 50 million people from more than 100 countries transform their lives and their businesses through his books, audio programs, health products, live events and personal coaching. He's been fortunate enough to work with everyone from presidents of countries to some of the true legends of entertainment, sports and the business world. But his work is not limited to Fortune 500 CEOs and athletes. He has a special passion for small-business owners, parents and students.

Being the Chairman of seven privately held companies and five holding companies in diverse industries keeps him busy. Many of his companies have become brands that are leaders in their category - from the award winning Namale Resort & Spa in the Fiji Islands, to Twinlab and Metabolife in the sports nutrition field, to the Anthony Robbins brand in personal and professional improvement.

Most of Tony's core strategies for creating breakthroughs have come from his work with some of the biggest names in the business world: He's had the privilege of modeling and distilling the strategies of leaders in some of the fastest-growing companies in the world. He's used these distinctions to help optimize and grow enterprises to new and more profitable levels.

One of the things Tony is most proud of is his humanitarian work through the non-profit Anthony Robbins Foundation. He's always believed that if we're blessed enough to have insight and economic opportunities, then we're also blessed enough to be able to give back. To those who much has been given, much is expected. Tony Robbins is extremely blessed to be able to feed more than two million people in 56 countries every year through his International Basket Brigade.

I own Personal Power and Personal Power II (as well as EVERY other course RRI has published). PPII is the ALL-Time greatest and most influential in my life. I won't say that Tony redefined the way I live and approach life. For the most part, I was doing a lot of what he teaches already. He just gave a name to the processes. That isn't to say I didn't learn a lot from him...I have learned more from Tony than from all others combined. I go through either PPII or Get The Edge every two or three years. I don't do it more frequent b/c the goals I set are often longer termed goals and going through a program every six or nine months, with goals set for two years out...that would be three or four iterations where the same goal was not reached. While I "know" the reason behind it, psychologically it would start rubbing on me that I haven't been achieving my goals as often as before. SO, two to three years between curriculums has been working effectively for me. I HIGHLY recommend everyone trying Personal Power or Personal Power II at least once and applying himself or herself to the lessons and assignments!

Summary:
This is a classic. I listened to the audio tapes and was instantly enthralled by Tony's charisma and passion. It felt like he was in the room with me giving advice on how to be a better version of myself. The book covers familiar topics like beliefs, emotions, effectiveness, happiness and how take steps to achieve your goals. It provides a series of tools and exercises to aid you in this. I think the real value in Tony's teachings isn't really financial success or success at work, but learning mastery over yourself so you can stop sabotaging your own life. Every since reading his books, I've felt somewhat unshakeable, have been consistently happier and have a much more positive outlook in general. I credit his teachings and the methods I've implemented from them as contributing to this. There's a lot of value here and his other work, it's worthwhile being familiar with it.

I would recommend this book to anyone. Tony Robbins is the man!

The main message I took from this book is that the quality of our questions can have a massive impact on our happiness, success and effectiveness. Asking better, positive questions move us forward.

Some notable points:
- There is a big difference between capability and how you live. Believing in what you are as labelling yourself creates a self fulfilling prophecy. Our beliefs shape us, including our behaviour.

- Rituals help incite change and sometimes creating a powerful ritual can help incite powerful change.

- Emotions are powerful and a result of how we interpret experiences. Every emotion has a message for us that can be used to our advantage.

- Consistency creates long term power and lasting benefits. Short explosive interventions don't get you far in the long run.

- Commit to constant and never ending improvement and instilling this into your every day life will help build an amazing life. See The Slight Edge for more on this.

- Happiness comes from long term commitment.

- The quality of our life is determined by the quality of our questions.

- Thinking is just asking questions. Are they empowering or disempowering?

- Metaphors provide a framework or a perspective for our lives, these can work for or against us and changing them to work for us can yield great results.

- Limited references create a limited life.

- Advice is the cheapest commodity, it can be sincere, but sincerely wrong. Seek information from people with the appropriate expertise and experience and model them.

- Decide what you want and what's preventing you from getting it.

- We can't use yesterday's standards to be winners today.

- Repetition is the mother of skill.

This is the thin version of his very popular Personal Power II program. This book is helpful as a guide... however it is no substitute when it comes to the audio version of Personal Power II. Don't settle for version 1 either, get version 2. Version 1 is a 14 day program while version 2 is a 30 day program. Better execution, polished, and more substantial.

I'd highly recommend the audio program over the book any day. You can check out thePersonal Power II review here along with some of his other programs.

Abridged book on CD while driving. Not my favorite, but Anthony Robbins is excellent in general! Everyone should read, or listen to at least one of his life strategy books.

First few chapters is great and in fact is a good summary of some of his essential teachings.

Last few chapters: the voice veers from high to low volume. Tony speaks really fast at times and it is quite hard to catch.

This is a very cut-down version of Personal Power II that comes as part of Ultimate Edge. In as far as it goes, I think it's excellent. Robbins covers off basic motivations through the association of thoughts with pain and pleasure, as well as his needs psychology and a little bit about chunking (relevant to planning).

Anyone pleased with this small taste really then needs to go on to do the full 30-day Personal Power II course. I've had two goes at it in the past and have tended to drop out early - the first time around Day 4 (sad, I know), the next around Day 10. I'm putting PP2 onto my To-Read shelf right now :) I'm determined to make it all the way through!

Much has been said of Tony Robbins over the years and whether you've seen him, listened to him, or tried any of his programs, this is the book that started it all.
If you want to know about who Tony Robbins is, what his programs are all about, or how his work can make such a difference in people's lives (and yours) this is a great place to start.
He's written and created many more books/programs since this book came out but this is where it all began.
His writing is personable, easy to understand, and gives you straight-forward advice on how to use the principles he discusses in the book and apply them immediately in your life.
I Highly Recommend this book.

I try to be careful when reading such books as not to fall in the "self development book rabbit hole" as many such books offer a "quick tips" to self development. Not that there is anything wrong with this - its actually a good thing but many people get into this sickle of reading self development books and don't actually accomplish anything. Many times this is due to the fact that they don't get the promised fast results.

This book, however is a bit different. The principles and advises given can be implemented and used in different aspects of life. Its written well and in great detail. One book that I highly recommend.

It has been years now since I listened to this in audio book fromat, but this guy is the embodiment of both inspirational and motivational. Especially when you listen to his "come on get going!" gravely voice, as he enthusiastically reads all his own audio books. I don't remember too many details about this specific audio book (it has been too many years) but I know I've incorporated many of his suggestions into my daily life. Highly recommended!

Amazing book. Not even sure how many times I've listened to his audio clips on personal power while driving in my car, before sleeping, just when I used to get up.
Has the power and insights that are inspiring and life altering.
Strongly Recommend.

Got the whole program as a gift...went through it all in my mid-20s, which was good timing for me. 30 days of passion, big-picture thinking, changes, and intensity!

Tony Robbins klassiska ljudboksprogram. Jag tycker dock att hans Get The Edge och en del andra från senare år är bättre än den här då han utvecklats genom åren.
