I picked up this book while browsing through the gift shop at the Spy Museum in DC. While initially bought for a few laughs it is actually disturbingly graphic from how to build a false bottom on your couch (good for hiding a person) or even to throw incriminating evidence in a pot of baked beans (if the police show up unannounced, but I guess that means you should always have a thick stew on the stove if you're involved in illegal activities). You can even learn how to make a two-way mirror if you need to do some spying of your own.

Another interesting sidenote: the author is a former IRA soldier, so you know he has some experience in hiding stuff. I was thinking I could offer deep insight about this book being an interesting read in this time of increased government surveillance but I'm not that smart.

I read this book because I thought I knew the author, (another Michael Connor). I thought it would be a collection of poems; however, it really is a book about hiding things. It is easy to read, and it's in a slightly paranoid tone, but it is unintentionally amusing and informative. You'll be able to look at everyday things and think of quite unusual uses for them. Props to the author!

This book reminds me of the much unknown film, The Survivors. The book is Robin Williams and I am the Walter Matthau character.

This guide has some interesting ideas for hiding places (false pipes in the bathroom, the bottom of a pot of food, etc) as well as tried-and-true favorites (hollowed-out books, false-bottom drawers). There are also some fun ideas for hiding people in hidden rooms and floors.

Although there are tons of pictures, some of the descriptions may be a difficult for a person who is not familiar with construction. A few extra diagrams might have helped.

In general, it's a quick and easy read and is sure to get your imagination going. I especially enjoyed the author's emphasis on hiding things in plain sight. If anything, this guide will get you to think about everyday items and places as potential hiding places.

Came across this book while reading an amature step-by-step guide on how to make LSD. Interesting way to re-examine every-day items that surround you. As a designer, I found the re-appropriation of furniture etc. to be fascinating because it's something that isn't normally considered when creating an object.
Written in an unintentionally-amusing paranoid tone that made some of the dryer parts of the book a lot more enjoyable.

Jenius!
