The tarot puts the power of destiny at your fingertips, and these full-color illustrated “hands” offer exciting, life-altering possibilities. The journey begins by understanding exactly what tarot is, and how it can serve as a powerful tool for personal development and healing. Every card in the Major and the Minor Arcana receives detailed explanations, some with sample readings, knowledge-expanding exercises, and enlightening case histories. Use these interpretations to answer the all-important questions of life (Who am I? Where am I going? What is important to me?) and to plan for the future. Throughout, there are practical strategies for discovering your life’s path and redirecting it, increasing career prosperity, finding love, building inner strength, and healing sickness.
my notes: the book uses traditional italian decks.( no scenes on the pip cards)( the classic tarot by loscarabeo) but can be used with the rider waite deck as well. one of the few books that uses the same elementals for the court card groups that I use. ( earth for kings, water for queens, fire for knights, air for pages)
I've pulled a large amount of books out of secondhand shops and this one keeps standing true as a marvellous treasure found. I just adore the insights on each card, as well as enjoying the layout with each number laid out at once (All 8's, all 9's, all kings) instead of chronologically through each suit separately. The reflects are short, but though-provoking, accurate and very clear for me. What more could you ask for in a Tarot book.
It also offers some great spreads. Sure, there are more dense and thorough books to chew through. But especially at a starting point, or not wanting to be saturated with overwhelm in a very direct and informative way, this book hits the spot.
Sometimes helpful, other times just interesting. I've read through the book while having my own deck of Rider-Waites with me and enjoyed doing some practice readings both for myself and for some friends. It is not on in-depth book, but it does teach some basic readings and other uses for the cards. One thing I realized is that Tarot is definitely easier to use and understand than Astrology. Another, more surprising, thing I've learned is that Tarot does not necessarily help us to know the future but rather to understand ourselves and to bring out what is already in our minds.
