She attended the Polytechnic University of Valencia, where she studied Fine Arts at the Facultad de Bellas Artes de San Carlos. There she started working as an illustrator while also designing various book covers and other commissioned pieces.
Her first illustrated book, Favole, a remembrance of Verona, Venice and Genoa, was first released on 23 April 2003. It was moderately successful, but she returned to the University to continue to study art. She made her first public appearance at the Saló del Còmic fair in Barcelona on March 8, 2004. She toured Madrid and the U.S. the following year.
Soon after, Favole II and Favole III followed. Her most recent published work is called El Corazón de Arlene (Arlene's heart) in 2008. Her illustrations have also been featured on posters, calendars and jigsaw puzzles.

Lovely lovely art. The only reason why it doesn't get a 5 star rating is because the artist seems to think she's a writer too, and tries to dazzle us with some of the more laughable examples of purple prose with gothic undertones I've read in a few years. Try reading the "girl who chokes on apple and dies during her first period" bit without laughing.

Ah, l'adolescenza e l'inevitabile attrazione verso le storie e le illustrazioni gotiche/romantiche/vampiriche.
L'ho riletto e la storia è molto scarna, le illustrazioni carine ma niente di che.
Non abbasserò il voto perchè non lo merita, ma credo che regalerò il volume.

I fell in love with Victoria Fancés artwork years ago, deep into my adolescence. And of course, as of with any other depressive little girl, i got enthralled by the melancholy sadness and tragedy deeply engraved in each of her illustrations. Now, i can still appreciate the technical magestry of this sorrowful visual art - However, I can also comment on the very clumsy organization of the artwork throughout the book , and the very laughable attempt of the artist at writting. Sometimes, people should just accept that their tallents lie elsewhere and ask for help.

“Frozen Light” is the last book of the “Favole” series, where we once again follow Favole on her journey to redemption and back into the arms of her beloved Ezequiel. We also meet new characters like Anna, Persephone and Angelique, as well as old ones, such as Sasha and Lavernne. Tortured souls, searching for peace and love in a old of darkness and emptiness, “Frozen Light” is the perfect ending for this series, full of stunning illustrations and romantic odes to the world of the death.

Anos depois, encontro finalmente este livro e acabo, assim, a coleção que comecei na minha adolescência.
Este livro apresenta duas das minhas ilustrações preferidas de Victoria Francés. O reflexo de Favole aprisionado no espelho é tão belo que o tenho emoldurado no meu quarto. Contudo, tirando essa e uma outra ilustração, as restantes pouco me dizem e o texto é demasiado ridículo.
A penosa (tanto para ela como para mim) jornada de Favole, em busca da sua salvação, chega ao fim e eu nem quis saber. Só me entretive a olhar para os "bonecos".

5 Stars for the art, but - SADLY - 3 stars for the wirting.
I did like the fact, that it was a quest for Favole and she met a lot of different characters.
All the characters had a small and interesting backstory, but none of them was original, just another everage sad and lonely sould ridden with grief of lingering hate.
The art was amazing! I have so many posters if Fances at home and I put them back up, but sadly the wirting didn´t touch me the way it was intended to by the author.

Favole continue son effroyable périple et rencontre Les fées des marécages.
Anna l'une d'elle lui fait rencontrer leur mère : Laverne.
Favole tombe ensuite sur Perséphone, petite fille maladive qui est morte étouffée par une pomme dans la neige. L'ange Angélique apparait soudain afin d'emporter l'âme de Perséphone.
Favole aperçoit ensuite le château des spectres. Elle retrouve enfin Ezequiel et celui ci se purifiant pu enfin la rejoindre.
Et Sasha le petit ange qui avait suivi Favole dans son voyage se joignit à eux et ils disparurent enfin tout les trois.

I randomly picked this up at my tattoo-artist friend’s place. I have never read any of the other parts of this series so I don’t know the storyline, characters or story arc, however the atmospheric art and prose were very well done.

Fin de esta preciosa historia de dos almas que se conocen y por no soportar el dolor de hacerla a ella inmortal se acaban separando y al final sus espíritus acaban juntos para siempre.

Oh, this was a blast from the past...
Nostalgia hit me hard and it was so overwhelming!
I loved and will always love Victoria Francés!
She was a huge inspiration for me in my teenage years and, honestly, she still is.

Beautiful art, combined with a story. The story itself doesn't have the depth of the 2nd book, which makes it a little less good. Yet it's still worth the read, and for sure worth the view!

La tercera parte de la novela gráfica Favole.
En esta parte vuelve a suceder como en la primera, la artificiosidad del lenguaje eclipsa a la historia y dificulta la lectura. Como estás acostumbrado no es nada grave.
Las ilustraciones, como siempre, son simplemente perfectas.

"Frozen Light" is my least favourite of the Favole books. Like "Set Me Free" it has a tie back into "Stone Tears" and is split into three parts again.
I find it rather amusing that in my review for "Stone Tears" I mentioned how parts of it remind me of "The Lady of Shallott" when this volume opens with a quote from the poem and has even more images so evocative of it.
Considering how these books are primarily filled with sad tales this ends with a relatively happy ending. I am glad for the inclusion of Sacha in this, perhaps because he is portrayed as being such a sweet little thing, and I do like that Favole gets what she wants in the end.
Out of the 'tales' in this volume (though as with "Set Me Free" only one is not obviously about Favole) I would say my favourite one is Angelique/Persephone/Snow White, the drawings here are some of my favourites and it is a bit of a different take (as well as the Pinochioesque Pierrot) on the 'classic' tale.

Ik ben geen fan van de schrijfstijl. Mooie bewoordingen, maar af en toe ook een beetje - hoe moet ik het noemen - geforceerd? Daardoor las het nogal moeizaam en vond ik het soms lastig te volgen.
De tekeningen zijn echter prachtig! Ik heb alle drie de boeken na het lezen nog eens doorgebladerd om ze opnieuw te bekijken. Kortom: een prima tekenaar die Francés, maar het schrijven kan ze beter aan een ander overlaten.

Es la última parte de la trilogía Favole. Me es imposible decir cual de los tres tomos es mi favorito. Cada uno tiene una razón para serlo. Tal vez sí podría decir que es el que tiene mejores ilustraciones. Pero esto también es subjetivo. Sí le añade un toque extra el tener hadas. Por lo demás, me enamora cada dibujo y todo ese mundo en el que viviría gustosamente.

Victoria is an amazing artist she has such talent it's fascinating and quite captivating. She is certainly one of my favorite artists and one of my inspirations. Victoria Felicidades en tu arte!
