We have all had the experience of awaken from a dream and being intrigued, wondering if the dream meant something specific. I have always been fascinated by the symbolic language of our dreams. I believe that dreams are the place where we work through our problems, where we practice needed skills, and where we try out new concepts.
For years, I have written down and analyzed my dreams. Sometimes the process can be rather frustrating, especially when I can't determine the meaning of the symbols that I am attempting to examine. My first test for In Your Dreams was to look up a number of mystery symbols that I hadn't been able to identify through other means. I was thrilled when I found them all and several pieces of my personal puzzle fell into place.
With renewed curiosity, I began looking at the symbols of various body parts looking to the symbolic nature of illness and dis-ease. The results were very interesting. I believe that they could be of use to me in my practice.
In Your Dreams: The Ultimate Dream Dictionary is a dictionary about the symbols in dreams. If ever one desires to seek the hidden meaning of dreams, it would help best if one would jot their dreams down the moment one wakes up in order to preserve the little elements that one might forgot in a span of a few minutes. Dreams hold the thoughts of one's subconscious and they could help bring inner awareness. It might even help solve recurring dreams, and change a person's ways in order to prevent the repetition of such dream. Knowing oneself is one way to change one's outlook about life. It could even help one advance in his own desired path toward his dreams. Knowing oneself could unfold many possibilities. It could also warn a person of repeating the same mistake. Events in the dream are not literal, they hold some meaning, even though they do not make sense at all. It would take one's deep analysis of oneself and a copy of the events of the dream in order to understand the obscure message.
I liked the idea about this dream dictionary, even though it tried to be as detailed as possible, it lacks most stuff from my dreams that I had to Google them. I hope there would be a part about relationships and the meaning behind them in a dream. This dictionary has some of these information, but they are too general. I admire that the book has most of the inanimate objects, places, and animals. I hope it would improve more by injecting feelings and relationships. Beyond this, I think the book is a good reference, but it cannot be wholly depended on.
This is a great book that can help you interpret any dream. It explains dream symbols that really do reflect where you are on your life journey at that time. It's not a book that you sit down and read, but it's a great reference to keep on your nightstand. I consult this book after every dream I have, and it ALWAYS provides insight!
