I is a part of the Black Light, The Men section of Black Light, White Dark. Like the other tales in Black Light, both The Women and The Men sections, are romantic comedies, however dark, intense, or serious the themes. They are all written in what the author terms Chaos Riddle Prose. They are not your average light-hearted romances. I is the story of a 32 year old Swedish Caspar who dies during an accident in his bathroom while trying to smash a cockroach, and the City of Los Angeles happens to experience a 7.8 earthquake at that exact moment. But after death he realizes life continues ... he realizes he is in fact a ghost. In the process of discovery what exactly being a ghost means, he falls in love with the beautiful Jewish American UCLA college student who moves into his apartment after his death. Will he break through to the other side? Will she?
