This book started out like a soap opera, but it got better as I kept reading. Ryan's family was dealing with the loss of his father. The reading of the Will stirred up drama, and hurt feelings. Jessica, and Ryan had been lovers for awhile. Ryan kept his relationship with Jessica secret. He was against work place romance's, and she worked for him. His motto was always, no cats, no kids, no press, no diamond rings. Jessica knew the score. She was going to break it off with him, when she found out she was pregnant. Then they found out his dad died. She wanted to give him the support that he needed. After the funeral he accused her of having a affair, and that gave her the push she needed to end things. Once she broke things off, it was Ryan that started second guessing how he felt about her. It was fun to see him chasing, and begging Jessica to come back to him. This book had drama, twist and turns I never saw coming, and romance. It was a enjoyable read.

Jessica Cotter is her bosses mistress. She knew that when she started the relationship the rules were: No kids, No cats, No ring. She was fine with that, she was focused on her career, and didn't want the hassle of a ring, and kids.
When Jessica finds out she is pregnant, her world shifts. Suddenly, she realizes that she really does have strong feelings for her boss, Ryan Blackstone. She has every intention of breaking it off with Ryan, until his father disappears and later is announced dead. Then Jessica makes every excuse to stay with Ryan, until Ryan drops an accusation on her that rocks Jessica to her very core. Then it seemed she had no problem finally breaking it off. However, Ryan wasn't going to let her go that easily.
Honestly, I feel that I went into this book with higher expectations than I should have, I blame it on the fact that the main characters name is Jessica. It was a quick read, but other than that there wasn't much going on. Typical story about being in love with someone unobtainable, but there was nothing there to add the sparkle. Literally, there were parts where I thought things were gonna get juicy, but they quickly fizzled out and went back to being just ... for lack of a better word, boring. I say, if you like quick reads then this is the one for you. Personally though this book didn't do much for me.

This book is the sixth of six books in a series called Diamonds Down Under. Although the book was entertaining and a decent read, I'm sure that I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the previous books in the series. The family relationship and feuds going on had me paging back and forth to remember characters and who did what to whom in previous scenes.

I Didn't like it, I didn't really like the plot or characters. Hero was determined to win her back but only to back into his bed, even knowing he lost her and had that devastated feeling like she died (before book started) and he still never entertained thoughts of marriage til after he learned of her pregnancy. So that made me feel like he didn't love her for her but to be responsible (regardless of what he said to her). P.

Ohhhhh el drama familiar se pone cada vez mejor, y los secretos y hechos son cada vez mas intrigantes!

Había cosas que Jessica Cotter jamás le diría a su amante, Ryan Blackstone, el empresario joyero más rico de Australia. Ella era su amante secreta, la persona con la que practicaba sexo tórrido en la intimidad de su habitación de soltero. No tenía ningún futuro con el hombre cuya filosofía de vida no incluía niños ni anillos de compromiso. Pero aunque conocía las reglas, las había roto. Y en aquel momento no tenía otra opción más que alejarse de Ryan… a no ser que él, que tenía el corazón más duro que un diamante, aprendiera a amarla.
Me gusto mucho esta pareja, principalmente porque no es que se conocieron, se hicieron amantes y ella se embarazo!
Llevaban mas de dos años siendo amantes, vivían juntos, tenían una relación oculta, mas allá de que ambos aparentaran cosas diferentes. No eran dos simples personas que se encontraban para tener sexo salvaje. Lol!
Lo de ellos era algo profundo, pero que ninguno de los dos quería admitir.
En cuanto a la historia, las cosas se ponen cada vez mas complicadas entre las familias. Y me encanta ver a todos los personajes que componen la miniserie interactuar mas allá de la novela que les corresponde! amo las miniseries asi!!

the heroine was so pathetic! at first, she took the right decision. i loved how she walked out on ryan!and did not look back! however, after a few days, she cud not help herself. she just hopped back into bed wid him! i was so disgusted! ryan treated her like the gutter!living wid a woman for 2 years without anyone knowing! she was like his whore and he did not even let her bring her cat to his penthouse. yet, she wanted more of him!? i was wholly disgusted though this is not a bad read, i found jessica too pathetic to like the book!

This is book two in the Silhouette Desire Diamond Down Under Series. The story involves the Blackstone and Hammond family It is also the prequel to MISTRESS & A MILLION DOLLARS which I just finished. (Who thinks up these Silhouette Desire titles? The story is oh so much better that the title indicates.)

I jumped to get this novel when it first came out. I'm obsessed over the pregnancy type novels and this one was just so great! I just read it again for the third time. Every single time I read it, I fall more and more in love with it. It has and always will be one of my absolute favorite Silhouette Desires.

I loved this book so much. Jessica was a wonderful character with love for Ryan that she felt was not reciprocated so she left pregnant and heart broken. Ryan loved Jessica though he did not know it until it was almost to late. I loved the ending and will read the rest of the series

Loved Ryan and Jessica's story so much so that even the author's annoying habit of over-using the word "that" couldn't detract from the fabulous story.

Sweet romance but too many underlying stories that aren't very clear. So gets bit confusing.
But overall I enjoyed it. Would recommend reading it.
