My home-decorating business was booming, thanks to that newaccount for model homes in a posh neighborhood. Of course, it didn'tseem quite so posh when I came face-to-face with a man escaping thescene of his crime—a murder right next door to the house I was decorating.
Now my life's on the line until the police fi nd the murderer, and I'mguarded 24/7 by my panicky roommates and the overprotective ownerof the housing development, Gray Edwards. As a believer, I know helptruly comes from the Lord, but I sure wish He'd sent someoneless handsome.
Gayle Roper rejoices every day that she gets to be a writer because she's in love with story. Even on the days that words rebel and have to be coerced onto the paper, there is nothing else she'd rather do. When readers like her work, it's like God says, "See? I knew what you were wired to do." When her books win awards like the Carol Award (Caught Redhanded) or the RITA Award (Autumn Dreams), the Holt Medallion (The Decision, Caught in a Bind, Autumn Dreams) or the Reviewer's Choice (The Decision), it's icing on the cake. And she gets to teach others how to write at conferences too. She spends a lot of time smiling. She is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers and Romance Writers of America and is the best-selling author of Hide & Seek and more than forty other books.
This book is not in my usual genre to read, but when my Aunt passed away, I inherited all of her books and so instead of letting them to waste I decided to read a few when I was bored. It ended up being not a bad little story. When Anna witnessed the suspect leaving the scene of a murder her life suddenly became much more interesting. He of course, wanted her dead so that she couldn't identify him and the strong willed woman that she is doesn't want to give anything up including her work, her privacy, her friends, her bed, or her schedule, just so she can be protected by the police department. So she decides she better find the killer on her own asap so that she can get back to her boring life. What she doesn't except is her friends and acquaintances wanting to help her every step of the way. There were lots of parts that made me giggle out loud and a few parts that kept me up past bedtime reading because I didn't want to put it down during a suspenseful part!
Written in first person (with a few chapters from the killer's point of view), this book is a winner with the right amount of romance and suspense. The author mixes light-hearted scenes that leave you laughing with tender hearted scenes.
Home decorator and art teacher, Anna, witnesses a murderer running from a building while hanging curtains in Gray Edwards' new housing development. Now Gray must protect her and her two girlfriends from the murderer!
The suspense was great! The author took us on a few twists and turns along the way. I was actually surprised several times! The romance was also very good. I loved the scene in the truck when they thought it was over. Very sweet indeed! This is definitely a rad in one sitting kind of book!
I enjoyed this one quite well! I hadn't read this author before but I was taken with her writing style from the first couple of pages, and I've already started looking for more of her books.
I enjoyed the book. Gayle Roper doesn't overdo it on the God-thing; I really like her plot and the character development and the sense of humor she brings to her books.
