Classic case of an author who tells instead of shows. All throughout the book, other characters meet the main character, Emily, and tell her out of the blue that she is fascinating/amazing/oh so interesting. She doesn't do a single thing to justify this in the action or dialogue. Painful, dull, and irritating. I'm still a little angry with myself for persisting to the end.
