Mary commutes between her dream home near the Mark Twain national forest in Missouri and her current residence in Iowa. She lives with a menagerie of animals including an opinionated horse and a cat who was a dog in past life. When not writing spicy tales of erotic romance, she enjoys writing science fiction and fantasy, spending time with her horse, and enjoying the outdoors. Lucky for her, her partner (hero) shares these same passions, and usually both of them can be found in their respective dens writing.

And it’s not far from the truth. Mary began writing in high school after she discovered Silhouette Desire romance novels and realized that she wanted to be the one to write stories that carried readers away from their oh-so-boring lives. She has a deep appreciation and love of the natural, the spirtual, and the metaphysical, which has led to her running Jupiter Gardens and writing for new age and pagan magazines. She is attuned to Reiki II and reads tarot cards.

Right now her household includes six cats, ranging in age from less than six months (Tenzin, former feral kitten) to seventeen years (Tigger, diabetic kitty), her horse, two parrots, a finch flight, a geriatric parakeet flight, and her partner, the hero of her own personal romance story.

Her favorite television shows are Torchwood, Bones, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Dr. Who (new), Battlestar Galactica (new), Babylon 5, Farscape, and Sex in the City. Her favorite movies are Spaceballs, The Cutting Edge, Serenity, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, the LoTR trilogy, and probably a few others she’s forgetting. Her musical tastes range from Enya, Clannad, David Arkenstone, David & Steve Gordon, Scott McDonald, and AfroCelt Sound System to Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, and others.

I enjoyed reading StarMyst: Forgiven. Laura and Reid demonstrate the complexities of forgiveness and relationships and how the two are intertwined. Even though the characters are Sorcerers, the supernatural was not the focus as much as their humanity. There was a good showing of supernatural activity that was organic to the characters and situations. The steamy romantic scenes are not over the top. The Sorcerer's innate powers resulted in more profound steamy scenes and intimate ties. Maybe that power exists between any couple that loves from a place of forgiving the past, especially their own, living in the present while allowing room for the future.

Laura and Reid had a star crossed destiny kind of connection. And given that they were from rival Conclaves, this was a bit tricky. A different sort of fated mates means a mystical connection that increases a sensual power to their group.

Ignoring her backfires for them both, so sibling and Conclave connections are both in play.

In the end, Laura and Reid must decide to follow their hearts or not, and deal with the costs either way.

They have a mystical connection.
I enjoyed the first book I read in this series and this one was just as good. Can Dr. Laura Ingress learn to trust and can Reid learn to forgive? I love the interaction between the characters for such a quick read the characters had a great deal of depth to them. It was a paranormal that did not go over the top with its steam and supernatural parts. I look forward to more work by Mary Winter and I recommend you check this one out. Well- written book with OK character development, I am not OK with cheating but it is resolved. Forgiveness play a big part in this story as well as character interactions. This is an OK read in my book as I said, I have a hard time with cheating no matter the reason unless it is consensual. Other than that the story is good

I really like the addition of the paranormal element to the story; it was added in such a way that it was natural for the characters and story. This has a great star-crossed lovers romance. It has great steam and intrigue. The interaction between characters is very interesting.

Dr. Laura Ingress fled her father's Conclave to escape being married off to whomever her father decided was the best match for her. She found a safe shelter with Edwin and the StarMyst Conclave. Now that Edwin has passed, her father wants her back. In order for her to remain at StarMyst, Laura has to be claimed by one of the them. Her heart belongs to Reid Montano, but will Reid be able to forgive Laura for sleeping with his brother?

Reid Montano will do whatever it takes to keep Laura safe, but he's not sure he can forgive her for her betrayal. But to save her from her father, he will claim her and go to her fathers Conclave in Texas and face him.

Laura's father does not readily accept a match between her and Reid, he doesn't feel that Reid is good enough for her. When Laura and Reid decide to bind themselves to each other, Laura's father does not take it well and tells Laura to go back to StarMyst with Reid. Laura wishes to find peace with her father, but she fears there never will be any.

This was a decent read, but I would only recommend it for readers 18+ as there are quite numerous sexual scenes with quite a bit of detail.
