By night, teenager Yoshimori Sumimura is a "kekkaishi"--a demon-hunter who specializes in creating magical barriers around his prey. By day, Yoshimori's got other demons to battle: an addiction to sweets and a seriously crotchety grandfather! Yoshimori's pretty neighbor and childhood friend, Tokine Yukimura, is also a kekkaishi, but their families are feuding over who is the true practitioner of the art.
With many questions left unanswered, Yoshimori and Tokine escape Headless Island. All is peaceful back home at the Karasumori Site...until a mysterious fissure cracks open the school grounds. Then Mt. Okubi, the largest of the mystical sites, is attacked, and its enraged guardian deity goes on a rampage! The Shadow Organization sends a powerful, polite young man to help guard Karasumori--but can he be trusted? And who needs help anyway?!
Hmm... Still I can’t find who is the main enemy. And also Karasumori is mysterious. I feel a little bit frustration because there are many mysterious things. I want to know more about the main enemy and what the Karasumori’s power is early...

I've been kind of stalling on this, because what I learned from the scanlations is that the next leg of the story is too slow to read at the pace at which it's published; I'd like a nice long backlog ramp so's to get some hangtime. But if the library's manga shelf happens to have the next volume when I pick up a hold, I'll tend to just grab it.
Anyway, stuff happens here, but nothing gets particularly resolved. There's a new boy at the site, and I'm kind of wondering if maybe this one will be the one to NOT end up having a heart of gold. (Who am I kidding, of course Yoshimori will bring him around.)
Also, something just occurred to me the other day! Yoshimori/Gen = Gilgamesh/Enkidu. Right?
Kekkaishi, Vol. 23 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next ten chapters (216–225) of the on-going manga series.
Another prominent mystical site is attacked and destroyed – Mt. Okubi, which seemingly causes a mysterious fissure to crack open on the grounds of the Karasumori Site. To investigate, a team of three warriors from the Night Troops come to Karasumori.
Then a fifteen-year-old Sōji Hiura arrives, claiming he was sent by the Shadow Organization, but Yoshimori Sumimura thinks Sōji is the masked attacker who assaulted him in Hida Village. Soon, the Karasumori site is attacked by two huge ayakashi and to test Sōji's loyalty and talents, Yoshimori pits him on one of the intruders, while he takes on the other.
This tankōbon is written and illustrated by Yellow Tanabe. This tankōbon continues the overarching story about sacred sites being destroyed and introduces a new character in Sōji Hiura. He is a power-shifter user, his ability ranges from channeling his power into creating blades, forming it all over his body into a barrier, and using it as a spring in his muscles and he can freely change the size, shape, or angle of the blade – an interesting addition to the main team.
All in all, Kekkaishi, Vol. 23 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems really intriguing and I can't wait to read more.
An ok ending to the Guillotine arc but still a little disappointed that Tokine did not have a much bigger role in an arc that was centered on her. But the next arc shows a bit more promise as we get some follow up about the mysterious figure that Yoshimori fought before when he was helping Tokine's Grandmother. The new character seems off and interesting also we learn more about the holy sites and it seems we are finally going to get resolution with the God Hunter storyline.
actually, robotic shouji rather cute with his obedience. geli pas si Sen nyebutin kemiripannya Shouji sama Gen, dan ternyata mereka lebih mirip daripada dugaannya. terlalu mirip malahan. bertanya-tanya kenapa Ito pengen ngeliat alisnya yoshimori, ya?
