3.5 solid steam Stars

This was a good book and story that wasn’t much of a stretch. It’s exactly what you think and want in an older woman younger man book. Short and sweet so everything was rushed. The “reason “ she couldn’t be with him wasn’t much of a surprise either but it fit the quick story.

Writing was good. The characters were good and not
Too whiny. The steam was super steamy so beware.

I’ll read more from this author.

Though the romance wasn't bad, I don't think this author's voice in sex scenes works for me. Saying things like, "Her sex wept," and referring to the "soiled condom" when he pulls it off when they're done, really turned me off, and since it's a short erotic romance, it's tough to like the story more when I'm disconnected from half of it.

I am a huge Helen Hardt fan so I always read her books. I can't recommend this one enough. It is a quick hot read that has a HEA. Holly and Jack's story is so fun to read and I look forward to the rest in the series.

So, reading this was surreal. Cause I guess I am A cougar. Reading about Jack "Cowboy" and Holly "Sugar" was amazing. I loved her innocence..and Cowboy is blunt and sexy as hell. Cowboy first care about the fact that to his 29 she is in her 40s. Let me tell you this....reading when Cowboy called her Sugar did a lot. There is so much to love in this book. And the Sex...so hot, lustful, raw, and real. Here is something that will make you love Jack more...he has a son. Jack's love for his son is amazing. That Alpha protector comes out when Jack has his son meet Holly. Such a good read.

What a lovely story of a lady who is 40 and meets a hot young cowboy one night when she doesn’t expect it. He’s the dreamy cowboy. Strong and gorgeous. It was a one night stand with all the passion that goes along. Then it was over. But is it truly over.

I love how they met once again. Beautiful visual! I love how the passion pushes them together. Determined to make it work regardless of their secrets, the story is a short read that leaves you almost feeling their passion as you read. I’d love to hear more about this couple.

This book starts out promising but ultimately, it is too short to make it a good read. A lot of events in this book are just too simple; as in, things are too simply written.

That said, with my opinions toward the writing, the erotic scenes do not feel erotic. In my opinions, there is a lack of passion between the characters and so the erotic scenes do not work for me. Because of that, the erotic scenes feel mechanical and read like a checklist of erotic things to do.

It's also not helpful when the dialogues are cheesy and cliché. The hero is just too black and white and a cardboard cutout. He's just too good to be true without any good development into his character. It's especially silly when he's dead set committing to her when he has only met her once. I guess this is a type of instalove, which is the bane of romance.

Overall, the fault of this book is that it is too short, which leads to a simple plot and underdeveloped characters, cascading into a not believable romance.

I was so excited to see a whole series of books dedicated to more mature women and younger men! This was Jack and Holly's story. Holly needs a distraction and she found it in the form of a fine younger cowboy who picks her up in a bar after he sees that she is sad. They have a night fling and she sneaks out early the next morning before Jack wakes up. They run into each other again when he poses for an art class that she is taking. He relentlessly pursues her and she wants him too but she has a secret......

I liked the story, the premise but there was something that was missing and I think it's the secret, but now that I think of it and the whirlwind speed of which their relationship is unfolding, it's not too unheard of but there is an annoyance there with her demeanor. She was very forward when she thought it was a one nighter, but when pursued with more, she kept bringing up the age thing and I was getting just as tired as Jack was of that, because apparently, Holly got some game in the bedroom that made Jake want to keep coming back to her. I want to read the next book to see if it was the character I didn't like (most likely the problem)or possibly the writing style but I must say I am happy to see the genre. :)

Wow!! First time reading this book and wow!!! I love Helen Hardts books but this one was awesome! It has your heart pounding and racing what is going to happen between holly and jack. And then towards the end your heart starts breaking when some super sad happens making you wonder will they end up together?!? Jack is a single day with the cutest and sweetest little boy. I highly recommend this book. What started as a one nightstand will it turn into forever?
You will have to pick up the book to find out! This is one of Helens earlier books and I love any of her cowboy/rancher books and series.

Sweet

This was a sweet story. I'm a small way, I can relate. Holly, a lawyer and Jack, a rancher, met in bar, when Holly was having a particularly bad day. Things progressed. After months, they haphazardly meet again. After some convincing from Jack, even with the age difference, Holly relented and they got their happy ever after.

Wow just Wow!

Wow! Amazing how Helen Hardy can write something so phenomenal. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It is the only cougar book I have read and would not mind if Helen would come up with a few more great books to go along with this series. Thank you Helen for another fantastic story with sultry characters.

Swoon worthy

I loved the story and characters are so relatable. Hollys struggle to come to terms with something so heartbreaking and trying to move past it is so touching. Jack and his carefree attitude about their age difference is swoon worthy. He's caring and honest and loving.
This is a Steamy and emotional read but one you'll love.

Really enjoyed this book. Loved Holly and Jack's story... Being a cougar is not easy and then add other difficult factors, makes it even harder... Was routing for them all the way. Love can win out!

Ugh-only 2 stars; the story was great, a little predictable but still good.
But the narrator is HORRIBLE! I could tolerate most of it but when screaming parts happened it was just trash. Sorry, I try not to be this critical but lordamercy it was hard
