Like other Littledale versions, this is too long and doesn't add to the story. This one actually deadens it a little bit by taking the Greek away and naming the daughter Marigold. Pew.

A great classic story, but not my favorite version of the story. I don't like the all or nothingness--because he realized the golden touch was stupid, he decided he hated gold. Makes no sense. And the general story-telling style wasn't my favorite.
