The Red Moon Anthology series, founded in 1996 by Jim Kacian of Red Moon Press, is the most honored publishing project in the history of English-language haiku. Each year thousands of haiku and related forms (senryu, haibun, renku, sequences, review, criticism and commentary) from around the world are nominated for consideration of being included by the eleven members of the Red Moon Editorial Staff. These nominations are then placed on a roster and considered anonymously by the entire staff, and those works that receive at least 50% of these votes are included in that year's volumebig sky, the eleventh volume in this series, honors work from the year 2006. It includes 170 poems, 12 linked forms (haibun, renku and sequence), and 6 critical essays on the reading, writing and appreciation of haiku.
