But I don’t hunt the usual game you might find in forests—I hunt monsters.
For most of my adult life, I’ve imagined the moment I finally come across a certain vampire—the one who took my family from me and left me with a scar on my wrist in the shape of a bite.
All my kills are leading up to this one moment—the moment I end the bastard for good.
So when I find myself face to face with what I think is a vampire in the woods—one with the same eyes, the same long, black hair, and the same snarling fangs as the one all those years ago, I make my move.
But this monster won’t be taken down so easily.
It’s not long before I find myself in over my head because this is no ordinary vampire—this one can take the shape of mist just as quickly as he can shift into the form of a gargoyle.
Outmaneuvered and overpowered, I soon find myself in a position I swore I never would—as a prisoner.
And when the bloodsucking gargoyle offers me a compromise I can’t refuse?
Regardless, I pledge to myself that vengeance will still be mine...
I’m a huge fan of anything paranormal and I always have been. I get super excited whenever they have those Twilight Zone Marathon days and anything ghost or vampire related will always attract my attention.
My interests are varied but aside from writing, I’m most excited about traveling. I’m extremely fortunate to have been able to live in England and Scotland, both places really having a profound effect on my books.
Thanks for checking out my books and I hope you enjoy them! Happy Haunting!
Another will written paranormal fantasy world 🌎 haunting horror adventure thriller novel by H. P. Mallory and J. R. Rain ☔ book 1 of 6. A great story with interesting well developed characters lots of action and misdirection leading to a wonderful romantic ending. I would highly recommend this series and various authors to readers of paranormal fantasy mystery novels 👍🔰 2023 👒😀😡💘
Jo is a hired gun, she is a monster hunter and when hired by a town to get rid of the monster that is terrorizing them She comes back to her past and the dark man that killed her family. There is a dangerous man that she feels like she knows from the past but can't put a finger on where and when, These aren't your ordinary vampires, this one can shift into a gargoyle. Now she finds herself a prisoner again, she has to choose get help from the one man who could hurt her in more ways then just taking her life or will she have her vengeance. Well I must say that the characters in this book are original in a way that they have mixed the gargoyle and vampire myths successfully. Derith and Balor are opposites in so many ways. Derith comes off as a beast but Balor is the real beast through out the book. Joe is a tough girl who can fight with the best of them . There is a secret that Jo has but she doesn't even realize it until with Dearth. Each character is well written and complex. Jo will make you cheer for her and Dearth is swoon worthy and Balor you just want to well use your imagination. This is one of those stories that will have you on the edge of your seat by the end of chapter 2. The characters are well written and complex and you will either love them or hate them depending on the chapter you are on. This a stand alone book will have you on the edge of your seat and swooning at the same time . If you want a a fantasy romance book , yes there is romance through out the book. Check it out you will have a fun time reading .
Jo was just a young girl when her family was killed by a vampire. Through the years, she has struggled and learned to kill monsters in preparation to kill the one who took her life. His bite left her with strength, speed, and stamina. She is hired to kill whatever is killing local animals and people. When she heads out into the forest she meets a gargoyle-vampire. Two brothers, a prophecy, a witch~ Cursed lands, monsters, and a love gone wrong. Ghosts, lies, and secrets. So much will happen, so much at stake, who will survive? Will the enemy make himself known? Or will it all be for nothing, and the wrong brother die?
Bite of the Gargoyle is a romantic adventure story that begins on the premise of revenge. I love the storyline, the characters, and the setting. Gargoyle shifters are one of my favorite paranormal creatures and this book was right on target. There are twists and turns, misunderstandings, and action.
H.P. Mallory and J.R. Rain are master storytellers that hook readers and keep them engaged, no matter what the genre, time period, or location. This writing duo creates interesting stories, intriguing and complex characters, and rich world-building. I love watching their characters grow, whether they write a series or a standalone.
Such a romantic fast paced adventure. Jo is hired as a monster hunter and come face to face with her past. Her family is taken from her when she was a child. Their killer plays an active role in her current job to rid the forest of monsters. It was well written and I kept myself guessing about the outcome. Dearth is swoon worthy and makes your heart remember that love can be eternal.
This is a good standalone book and a quick read. It's almost fairytale like. It's a story of a girl trying to find her family's killer, a gargoyle-vampire, and finding out she's the reincarnated wife of the said vampire and intertwined with the brother of the vampire who is now a gargoyle-vampire too. Quite a predicament!
Interesting characters with ulterior motives. I thought I had it figured out, but didn't. I was glad all ended well. The creatures were quite interesting also. It had been a while since I'd read any supernatural books. I forgot how cool they are! Thank you both.
Another hit for Mallory and Rain! I could not put this puppy down! These two authors can create the most insane books! The characters are always witty and intriguing. I never expect a standalone from these two, so this was definitely a treat. Something a little different.
This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was action packed and I couldn't put it down. I wanted to find out what was going to happen. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by these authors.
I really needed some light entertainment and this was perfect. Nice pace throughout, kept my interest, and had just enough complexity but not so much that I needed to work hard at it. A nice escape, which was exactly what I was looking for.
Which one? You will have to read the book. I loved the characters and the fact that Jo is a bad - ass. A good amount of action left me wondering how it would turn out. I had fun reading this. On to the next story
