Wang Shuyu and Xiao Sheng, two strangers with broken pasts, cross paths one night—a night that leads to a hopeful future together. Wang Shuyu, a coldhearted man, believes that having Xiao Sheng is enough in this life. Tragedy strikes and his world crumbles when Xiao Sheng leaves.
Five years later, Xiao Sheng returns—not alone, but with an adorable four-year-old boy.
Originally cold-hearted turned cold-blooded, is there any love left in Wang Shuyu's shattered heart? Can Xiao Sheng mend the heart that he broke along with his own?
‘The Only Sunflower I See Is You’ is a Chinese BL—Mpreg—Mafia novel. A dark and fluffy romance, exploring the obsessive love and loyalty between two people that must separate. It appears simple yet complicated as they find their way back together.
Volume Three follows Wang Shuyu and Xiao Sheng's life together after reconciliation.
“Just in case you don’t know, I’ve always made my love with you a competition. I love competing with you. I love knowing that I win at loving you more.”
I wrapped up The Only Sunflower I See Is You Vol. 3, and it was quite the ride! I went into this volume hoping for some resolution and more of that dramatic flair the series is known for, and while it did deliver on the drama front, I have to say it left me feeling a bit underwhelmed overall.
This installment dives deeper into Wang Shuyu and Xiao Sheng’s complicated relationship, with more twists and turns that test their love and loyalty to each other. There are some genuinely touching moments, especially when it comes to Xiao Yu, who continues to be an adorable light in this somewhat dark romance. But the push and pull between the main characters sometimes felt exhausting, and I was hoping for a bit more character growth by this point.
One thing I noticed again in this volume is the pacing—certain parts felt rushed, while others dragged on longer than necessary. The writing style is still a bit rough around the edges, which can be distracting, but if you’ve made it this far into the series, you’re probably used to it. I know it started as a fanfic/AU, and it kind of shows in how the story unfolds. There were moments that made me tear up (I can’t deny it has its emotional punches), but I still wish there was more polish to the narrative.
While this wasn’t my favorite volume of the series, it did have enough drama and heartfelt moments to keep me reading. If you’re invested in Wang Shuyu and Xiao Sheng’s journey, it’s worth seeing how things play out, but don’t go in expecting all the answers or a perfect resolution. It’s a solid 3-star read for me—enjoyable in parts, but with some room for improvement.
I’ve read all three volumes and glad I did. This was a lovely story. There’s love, heartbreak, danger, revenge, forgiveness, and more love. There is a bit of strange wording here and there and some odd phrasing (terms of endearment, in particular). Some of this, I think, is translation and other are choices by the author. But overall, the story kept the pages turning.
I was suspicious this book was all extras as it was much shorter than the first two but since book 2 ended on a cliffhanger, I bought it anyway. The story was wrapped up nicely and quickly, and the rest was just fluff (and spice)with the two main characters.
Overall, I enjoyed the story, but I think this might be my first and last mpreg.
I only read up to around page 180 (ebook) and realized that was enough for me. i skipped the extra chapters at the end because this book was so not needed. to anyone reading this series for the first time, you don’t have to read this one. it’s basically an extended epilogue with a happy ending and just a bunch of random stuff going on
This is the best bl that I have read. I did not enjoy the characters constantly referring to themselves in the first person, bur I understood. Great characters. I laughed and cried. I even stole some phrases to use on my husband. Great read! I need another! 20 🌟
