To Catch a Thief is the gripping story of how God set Richard Taylor free from a life of crime and drug addiction, dramatically transforming a young man whose life seemed to be irreversibly spiralling out of control. Today he is the associate minister of one of the UK's largest churches.
Interesting - shows how you can overcome anything with a change in attitude
But I would’ve liked a few less chapters on his criminal life (found myself skipping a few towards the end as it got quite Sandy) and a few more on his life after he found God (only a few chapters) and how that affected other areas of his life and the work he went on to do afterwards - sadly, just a paragraph at the end
He is clearly an interesting man, with a tough life story, who could inspire so many people - maybe time for an undated version of this book as this was written in 2006.
Utter rubbish!!! He is just a glorified criminal who hasn’t changed his ways at all. Book is terrible and don’t believe he has changed as he runs around with those far right Welsh news gang voice of Wales so this tells you everything you need to know. He also got kicked out of the church and denied being an MP. Now he is just hanging onto some hope of being something political in Wales but take his words with a pinch of salt. After all, he is an ex con with an awful past. Shame the book seems like it was written by a child. Not my cup of tea. Reformed? Yeah right pull the other one!
After reading To Catch A Thief, I was a little disappointed, it was slow to start, I understand we All have problems in life but we don't all turn to Crime. It's nice that He believes he was helped but He should have thought about that earlier in Life and asked for help then. It's A kind of Spiritual Book, with a hint of Christianity sprinkled in it.
An incredible read and fascinating how this young lad transformed his life. Whether you are a believer or not something extraordinary changed Richard’s life and he began helping others. Definitely a fascinating read.
Inspirational testimony of Pastor Richard Taylor, who rose in glory from the streets of Llanelli - as a thief and an addict - to the pulpit of Victory Church.
