Life can change in a split second. It can go either way. You can meet someone who will transform your life forever, or read a note that would destroy it. Both happened to me. In that order.
How do you go on with your life?

How do you move on after going from the happiest girl alive to a shadow of yourself?

First advice: Surround yourself with true friends.
Second advice: Practice self-care
Third advice: Don't close the door to love forever.

Content warning: Broken Boy is a closed-door romantic comedy. It’s the second book in the trilogy and ends in a cliffhanger. The books must be read in order, and there’s guaranteed HEA in the last book. While mostly lighthearted, this story explores themes around addiction and recovery (including one heavy prologue) that could trigger certain audiences. Please note that mature language is sometimes used. Read with care.

I was lucky enough to be given an ARC for an honest review.

That cliffhanger!!!

Loved it and can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Continuing on with Louise’s story and the ups and downs of her life. While sharing the joy of her successes and struggling through the lows with her.

But how can this possibly end with this cliffhanger? Someone is going to get a broken heart surely.

Watch this space.

Thank you for this opportunity.

Oh my goodness, I was warned and yet again that cliffhanger killed me!!!

Broken Boy is the second book in this series. Louise is learning to move on after what happened in the first book. She’s finding herself and has become pretty famous. I love seeing her realize what’s she’s worth. I love her and Logan’s relationship. I adore him and what they have going on. Jacks been MIA still but pops up every now and then. He’s spiraling down hill badly. Part of me wishes he gets better and comes back for her but then again I’m like nope, girl he did you dirty! Ugghhhh that cliffhanger. I know I’m gonna be torn in the 3rd, I can already feel it lol.

One thing I love about these books, is that they are easy binge worthy reads. I knocked this out in a day.

I received a ARC copy of this book for my honest review.

Broken Boy is a continuation of the story of Louise and Jack. This is the second book in the trilogy and after reading this one I can’t wait for the next book! I finished this one in about a day. It’s just that good! We begin the story with Louise going through heartache and it’s easy to feel her pain and disappointment. This incredible, strong woman slowly pulls herself out of the fog of her pain and starts living her life again. She starts following the dreams she was pursuing and new once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. She endures some rough parts that accompany her fame as she paves her road to stardom. The author, Marion De Re’ spices up the story by adding some new characters and maybe a new love interest with a hot actor, Logan. But where’s Jack? He’s gone or is he? He seems to be nowhere and everywhere. I found myself going through a full rollercoaster of emotions reading this story! You will find yourself crying, yelling, and cheering throughout the story. It’s beautifully written to share a glimpse into the lives of these characters. The best part of Louise is that she ultimately always follows her heart, and does the right thing even when it hurts. She remains classy. The ending leaves us on a cliffhanger but there’s also hope. Now we wait - not so patiently for the next book. Be sure to read Only Girl first because the books need to be read in order. I gratefully received this book as part of an ARC from the publisher and author. All opinions are my own.

I was very excited and grateful to receive this ARC because it’s the 2nd book to only girl. I began reading this book at 7pm and finished it the next day around noon, that’s how good it was. At first I thought it was going to be Jack rose’s perspective but It was more about Louise’s healing from her heartbreak, to the rise of her fame. It shows how after the storm there is always a rainbow. I honestly loved everything about it. From Louise’s new love interest to the friendships she develops. I honestly didn’t expect another cliffhanger but all I know is that I am once again eager to read the 3rd book to finally get some closure, even though I suspect I will get heartbroken on what Louise will decide and on who she will choose to be with.

Broken Boy is the second book by Marion de Ré and the sequel of Only Girl. I really loved Only Girl and can say it is one of my favorite books of all time! The huge cliffhanger made me curious about Broken Boy and I couldn’t wait to continue reading. I had high expectations for this book. Will this book be just as good as Only Girl? What will Marion de Ré have in store?

That cliffhanger.. again!!

I knew something was coming, but I didn't expect that! I loved part two of this rollercoaster of a romcom series. Louise was finally able to move on, or at least try, and found so many new opportunities in her life! You don't want to miss out on everything that Louise, and her new love interest, are up to. I can't wait for book three already, I need to know how it ends!

I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Since the last books cliffhanger boy have I been waiting to get my hands on this book!

The author once again didn’t disappoint and hit the ball out of the park with this book. We pick up where we left off and get to see the fmc start to bounce back after the heart ache she went through and we start to see her pick herself back up. This book is a romantic comedy so once again we start to see some romance develop in this book.

There is a maybe new love interest in this book and I can’t lie, I’m rooting for him from the start. Logan is such a treat of a character, I liked him from when we first get introduced to him. I’m still unsure of how I feel about Jack after the last book and then this book we see bits and pieces of him but I guess with the cliff hanger we are left on we will get to see what comes of these characters.

On the edge of my seat for this next book to come out!

ARC Book Review
Broken Boy
A Novel Written By Marion De Re’
Fiction - Romance
Published March 2, 2023
231 Pages
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is Book #2 in the Only Girl Trilogy. You need to read all three books in order. This is not a standalone. This book will be available starting March 2.

Broken Boy finds our main character, Louise Mercier, trying to put her life back together after a devastating breakup in Book #1 Only Girl. With the help of her friends and her own strength and determination, she is able to get her life back on track.

She now has a modeling job, a new house, a book deal, and a new boyfriend. Louise once again is on top of the world. That is until she finds someone on her doorstep. Another cliffhanger from Marian De Re’! Now we have a love triangle! I’m hooked! I must see how this all turns out for Louise.

This book series is especially for you if you like all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.

“I won’t let him ruin one of the best moments of my life. He doesn’t deserve it.”

“You can’t save someone who doesn’t want to be saved.”

I received an ARC for my free and honest review

I was excited to read this after the cliffhanger in book one. I was a little disappointed that you did not feel more of the loss that Louise felt after losing Jack. It felt so quick that she was on the mend and seeing Logan. Again, I felt that I was being told how to feel instead of dialogue making me feel how the characters felt. I felt that Logan and Louise would make better friends after reading this one. Team Jack here.
This is a fade to black spice rating and a quick read.

I had the honour to review the second book in this series after absolutely loving the first one and I thoroughly enjoyed this one!

While I knew that just like the previous book, this one too would end on a cliffhanger it still killed me! After everything the FMC (Louise) has been through, I’m really looking forward to her HEA in book 3.

The new MMC (Logan) addition in this book was quite refreshing. I love how different he is from Jack and the way he challenges Louise and makes her feel loved and appreciated. He is pretty much perfect for her but I am still holding out hope for Jack. Louise built some great friendships in both books and I’ve loved seeing her grow and evolve into this amazing woman.

Overall it’s a quick, fun read and I can’t wait for the third and final book in this series 💗

Broken Boy is book #2 in the Only Girl Trilogy. I highly recommend you read the books in order.
Louise Mercier is trying to get her life together, with the help of some great friends after a devastating break up. She now has a new boyfriend named Logan, a modeling job, book deal, a new house and a new boyfriend. What she does not expect is that Jack will continue to make appearances now and then and she sees how his life is spiraling out of control. While I loved Jack, part of me wants her to stay away from him,
to move on with her life and be happy.

The cliffhanger at the end of the book left me hanging and wanting answers NOW. I am impatiently waiting for book #3 so I get answers!
This is a quick read and I enjoyed the well developed characters immensely.

I would like to thank Author Marion De Re for this ARC and I am voluntarily leaving this review. Ok so I couldn't read this book fast enough! This is the second book in a trilogy so you really need to read "Only Girl" to get the full effect. I love that the author takes us right into Louise's life of newly-found fame. Even though her life is filled with parties and champagne, you can't help but root for Louise as she's been through a lot of crap to get there. I love Logan and Louise's romance. I was happy that she finds happiness after Jack but thoughts of him still haunt her. Another cliffhanger at the end? Ahhhh!!! I can't wait to read the final book in this trilogy!

I have to admit this one was surprisingly even better than the first. They usually say you can’t beat the original but in this case that’s wrong! I absolutely loved this book- not only were the name characters amazing but the old characters were built on even more and it made me so much more invested. On top of that we finally get to see Louise become more herself and independent which is just incredible to witness. I will have to admit I wish she could concentrate on her career and stay single because at this point she doesn’t need a man but with the cliff hanger that it’s left on I think my mind could be changed…

Woah, I devoured this book so quickly, I just couldn’t put it down. This is the second book in the Only Girl Triology and picks up right where book 1 ends. This book did not go the direction I thought it would from the ending of Only Girl. I loved how we got to focus on Louise solely in this book and how it’s all her own accomplishments and not tied to anyone else. It is awesome to really see her grow and become her own superstar and really develop herself in this book. There is a new love interest who pops up in this book and I’m seriously stumped on who I want Louise to end up with. I loved reading this book and can’t wait for the conclusion to read it next.

Okay, so I was expecting a lot of heartbreak and angst with this novel, but I was also hoping for some laughs. “Broken Boy” absolutely delivered, and I can’t even begin to express how much I loved it!!! At the beginning of the novel, our fierce heroine Louise is absolutely devastated. But she picks herself back up, and learns to move on with her life, which is something I am so freaking proud of her for. I loved Logan Reyes, her love interest, because he seemed very genuine and down to earth despite being a famous movie star. That ending absolutely killed me… I need to know what happens next!!!

Great series

Just when you think Louise has made it on her own by writing her book & getting it published, modeling for a top designer and being the "it girl" for a huge clothing company and finding a handsome actor boyfriend and buying her own dream house in LA her ex Jack Rose shows up at the end of this book. Talk about leaving the reader in suspense! So excited to read last book in this series to find out what happens. Interesting characters and storyline. Very enjoyable books!

This usually isn’t my thing, but I just can’t quit.

Listen. Closed door romances are NOT my thing; but for whatever reason, I cannot get enough of this series. It’s the perfect angst free breath of fresh air after drowning myself in so much dark romance.

Watching Louise flourish and grow into a more confident person has been an amazing journey and I can’t wait to see what happens next with her, Jack, and Logan.

Broken Boy by @marionderewrites

Omg book 2 was just as good as book 1!!!!

Louise went thru so much in book 1 and it defonetely carried over to book 2 but she finds some happiness so that makes it so perfect! So loved the way Logan got his entrance 😍 this story line was super good, full of surprise and of course Jack was there too...
I can't wait for book 3 to find out more and see what happens! 😊

I had written a much longer review, but Goodreads crashed on me.
The gist of what I said—this book is not well-written. It reads like a sorority girl’s play by play of her life: what she wore, where she goes, who she’s with, the parties she goes to… There’s just not a lot of depth, and the character interactions are short and flat.
That being said, I’ll probably skim the third book just to see where the MC ends up. Not because I’m invested at all, just curious.

She has done it again!!!! I have been waiting to read this book for so long it seems! I’m so conflicted with this one though! Was it a great book? Absolutely! Did you get a plot twist? Definitely! I can’t wait to get my hands on Only Love! I’m just not sure who I’m rooting for… Jack or Logan??? Ugghhh I have such a love/hate relationship with cliffhanger.

She’s done it again. After finally getting over her ex fiancé and being happy, she moves to LA and buys her own house. Oh you know only a 4 million dollar house but sure. She goes to Coachella with the group of new friends she made, which was one of my favorite parts. I really loved Logan and wish there was more scenes with him and L. There wasn’t really any spicy scenes. I would’ve loved more of that. But I understand why because L is definitely taking this relationship slower. The cliffhanger at the end I saw coming but I can’t wait for the next one. I’m torn on who I want L to be with.

Broken Boy was a true depiction of the struggle to get over and move on from someone you truly loved who truly hurt you. Walking on that journey with Louise was epic. You cried with her, triumphed with her, cheered her on. Marion De Re really brings this one to life for us, and I cannot wait to read the final book in this trilogy. Louise deserves her HEA!

As Louise picks up the pieces Jack left behind the 2nd book covers Louise's journey of binging a household name,a relationship and her journey of getting judged by tabloids, paparazzi and how now people treat her differently but Louise is the same girl from the first book and as she settles in her new lifestyle she is introduced to many new aspects of her life where she becomes her own person and is no longer someone's fiance or girlfriend but with her hardwork and dedication she is able to make herself and others realise of how she truly has potential. There is someone new in Louise's life but she keeps dreaming about Jack. What will the end be? I can't wait for book 3. I loved how Book 2 is about Louise and only her.

Broken boy starts where only girl ended.
Louise is heartbroken and confused about Jack's disappearance. Still hoping he will come to his senses she mourns their relationship in a real way (not eating and just sleeping away the pain). Slowly Louise gets back to living. She spends time with friends and works. She meets an actor who she becomes friends with. She moves back to LA again and becomes a homeowner. Here and there throughout the book we see Jack. I couldn't help but on the one hand be mad at him and on the other I couldn't help but feel sad for him there was one scene in particular that made me cry. You could see how much he is suffering and in pain. I was proud of Louise trying to move on and get better after this devastation. I loved this book and can't wait for only love!!

I liked this book. The descriptions and name dropping of designers is fun however sometimes it is over done. Yes, L should spend more time on herself and her goals but that does not make for a good rom com book
