I really enjoyed reading the children's book, Spider Sisters. Not only because I can relate to it very well, but because it teaches you how to behave with your sister. Spider Sisters is about two spiders sisters that are very close. They are practically best friends. John Trent writes about many situations you could be in as a sister. Some of them are about having little fights and getting over them. Other ones are about choosing to help and be there for your sister, not because you have to, but because you want to. The girls also teach each other lessons like "The Golden Rule." One of my reactions to this book was that even if you get in a fight you should always make up with your sister because she will always be there for you. I also realized that a sister bond is like no other bond you share with your friends. They have known you your whole life and no exactly who you are. They know your faults (sometimes a little too well), but they also know what your strengths are. I enjoyed reading Spider Sisters because even at my age it teaches me how I should be treating my siblings.

John Trent doesn't give any names to the sisters but they do develop through out the book. They make mistakes and learn that maybe they shouldn't have worn their sister's shirt without asking. They learned that if you see someone alone that you should invite them to play because that is how you would want to be treated.

I would recommend this book mostly to girls with sisters, but also to boys with brothers of all ages. The boys might not be able to relate to it as well, but the same principles apply. It teaches valuable lessons and how to treat someone you love, which any person of any age should hear.

Summary
This picture book is about two sweet spider sisters. The book explains what a special bond sisters have and how important they are to each other. They grow up together, play together, defend each other, and have fun together. The book describes the relationship of sisters growing up together as young children. The spiders also talk about the importance of their relationship in adulthood when they are grown up and wanting to have spider sister children of their own.

Themes
The theme of family and friendship is very prominent in this book. These spider sisters are best friends and could not imagine life without each other.

Personal Response
My sister and I read this together as children and still read it as college students when we are both home for holidays. The book reminds us how much we mean to each other and makes me feel so lucky that I have a sister to share my life with. I think the spiders are a creative element to show a sisters bond because of the alliteration of "spider sisters" throughout the book and the silly looking characters. The images are so vibrant and add a playfulness to this sweet story. I love this book because it reminds me of such sweet memories between me and my sister.

Recommendation
Spider Sisters is a tear jerker for anyone who understands the special bond between two sisters. It is a must buy for sisters young or old, you will never want to fight with your siblings again after reading it. The spiders sisters are a great reminder about how strong and wonderful the relationship between siblings can be.

The book "Spider Sisters" by John T. Trent, shows the wonderful connection sisters can share and teaches values and good christian principles. In the book, two sisters, who happen to be spiders, learn to appreciate their differences. Despite these differences, they will always love each other. I recommend this book to sisters of all ages(and their brothers), because from personal experience, I have seen the true close bond that can exist between sisters.

This story has a special meaning to my life. A family friend gave me this book when I found out I was going to a be a big sister to a new baby sister. This book shows how sisters can fight and argue, but by the end of the day, sisters will do anything for each other. I truly believe my sister and I have a close bond that no one else has and this sister book reminds me of that bond. The illustrations are very detailed and spark my interest every time I read the book. Simply love it.

This book undoubtedly reminds me of my sister. We would read this book numerous times a day. We would love to pick which sister we were. We even reenacted scenes from the book! I know I loved this book because I could relate personally to the charateers. This is a book that is still sitting out at my parents house.

I bought this book since I had 3 daughters who were and are the best of friends (most of the time). ;-)

This is such a sweet book. I keep meaning to buy copies for my own sisters. It shows the wonderful relationship that sisters can have and teaches values and good Christian principles.
