c1984. Interesting book. Great pictures and nice synopsis on each "ruin" bringing the writer's own thoughts on the ruins as well. Knowledge of British History is required though as terms such as Dissolution and Pilgrimage of Grace are not necessarily covered in the information provided. Brian Bailey does a great job in bringing together 3 different forms of ruins and has also included some surprising and "unknown" information about even the most familiar sites. His enthusiasm for some of these places really shines through. Recommended if you can get your hands on the book as I understand it is now inexplicably out of print.
