Four books of the Old Testament are devoted to telling the story of the kings of Israel and Judah (1-2 Kings, 1-2 Chronicles). After the reigns of Saul, David, and Solomon, the united kingdom of Israel was divided into the northern kingdom of Israel and the southern kingdom of Judah. Each kingdom was ruled by a succession of kings, some of whom were good, godly kings, most of whom were bad, ungodly kings. In the lives and reigns of these kings, we have examples to follow, examples to avoid, and above all we have a building desire for Jesus, the King of kings.
There's not much written on a popular, lay level about the Old Testament kings. That means this has to be one of your "go-to" resources. Happy reading :)
