Scottish immigrant living in Dallas, TX. I'm a small-press publisher working primarily in the niche-genre of furry fiction.

I have my mother to thank for my love of reading. She read to me all the time growing up. The copy of Watership Down she gave me when I was 7 eventually fell in half due to reading it over and over. As a teen I enjoyed the Sherlock Holmes stories and the works of Jack London and Edgar Allen Poe. In college I joined a Doctor Who book subscription service and read the monthly New Adventure and Missing Adventure from Virgin Publishing.

These days when I'm not reading something for publication, I enjoy science fiction anthologies and translated works.

This one was probably a mistake for me. While I wanted to read something FuzzWolf had written, and this one popped up while I was browsing ebooks, it is seven or more years old and I would say not as mature as I'd have expected. The characters have potential and could be very interesting, but since the entire book is just a series of erotic and often kinky scenes, I'm left feeling pretty cold. I'd be much more eager to know what it was that pulled the big wolf Sinclair away in the middle of the night when he answered his cell phone and rushed off without managing to get the words "I love you" out. What does the fox Trevor do with himself between these late night scenes? How does he support himself? What about his lovelorn room mate who only appeared briefly? The writing itself is polished, but as a reader who usually skips the erotic scenes to get to the "good stuff," I was left pretty unsatisfied. On the other paw, it's surprising that the author was able to get me so interested in these characters (even Jamie the bunny who is pretty much a cardboard cutout) when he offered me so little to build upon. Hence the three star rating. If you're looking for real plot and character exposition, though, I'd say skip this book but perhaps not this author. I'll be looking for something much more developed from him.
