Nathaniel York, a security guard at a San Diego topless bar, sets out to help Juana Villez, a young Mexican beauty, find her missing brother in Tijuana and uncovers an elusive and complicated trail
This was a blind buy and I’m glad I took a chance on it. Found it in a dollar bin and it was worth it and then some!
Nathaniel Hook is a security guard/bouncer at a strip joint. He falls head over heels for the new girl from Tijuana. He decides to help her out by trying to find her missing brother who vanished after paying a hefty sum to be snuck across the border.
The book starts off with this mystery and goes in some wild and unpredictable places. York is kind of a fuck up and gets the shit kicked out of him a lot. There’s a huge section of the book where he goes on an alcoholic/cocaine bender and spends some time with an attractive rich older woman with sexual kinks and her cult leader guru. Then it has him going undercover as someone trying to sneak across the border with other illegals. Then it goes into a “Most Dangerous Game” situation!
I never knew what was going to happen next and was highly entertained throughout. York is a smart ass and isn’t a complete fuck up once you learn about his past.
I would recommend tracking this one down if you can.
