The paintings are arranged in chronological order, with occasional departures for technical or aesthetic reasons. The text, which is also chronologically ordered, traces van Gogh's own via dolorosa, filled with terrible loneliness and studded with fits of madness--the tragic life of an outsider, an isolated genius at odds with society.

Es una buena aproximación a la vida y obra del pintor. Combina el relato biográfico con análisis tanto del estilo como de las principales pinturas del artista.

Maravilloso viaje por la vida y obra de Vincent, con hermosos relatos y reproducciones de sus obras. Lo evalúo con cuatro estrellas porque la edición tiene varios errores ortográficos, impresentable para una editorial tan prestigiosa.
