I thought the book itself was ok. I was supposed to read an autobiography/biography on a person who succeeded in life. We got to choose who we wanted to do in class. I chose Malcolm X because I’m into people who help change the world. I thought that It was a good book but I felt that I didn’t have the emotional effect that I thought it was going to have. Other than that it was ok. Malcolm X is truly amazing though!!!♥️

Have you ever known someone that was good as a kid and got caught in the street life as a teen? They also started doing bad things when they didn't believe that a black man could survive in a white world? If you don't then let me talk to you about Malcolm x. The genre of this book is nonfiction. I think that this was a great book and had really good and detailed information on Malcolm X.
The setting of this story is in Michigan and in Harlem. Malcolm is a kid that grew up in Africa and thought he had to do better than others because in school he was the only black. He grows to become 15-years-old and lives with his 24-year-old sister, Ella. When he moves in with his sister, she gets him a job, he gets fired and starts being bad. He does things like selling drugs and robbery. He gets caught one time and gets ten years in jail. While he is in jail he learns the Muslim way of life(its a religion) and he is really into it. Then he becomes an Muslim. I think the authors purpose of writing this book is to explain the life of him and to show people how he lived.
I was surprised at the whole book honestly because I had never known any of these things about Malcolm, only that he had went to jail and that he was a Muslim. I wish that I would have known more about him so I could relate. I understood why Malcolm would think that he had to do better than everybody else because he was the only black person in his class. I predicted that Malcolm would not stick to his goal of becoming a doctor. The life of Malcolm X is a good title for this book because it explains what the book will be about.
This stories connection is text to text. This book is like the martin Luther king book because both of them are about someone that had to do with our history. I can relate to this book because I used to be like, I have to do good and do better than someone else but I learned that not everything is a competition.
I think this was a great book and really made me think about some things. For a rate I would give this book a 8 because it wasn't fantastic like the others but it was good enough for a ten. I would recommend this book to someone who is interested in history or in Malcolm X. Make life as happy as you can and live it up to the fullest.

Malcolm x was a black Muslim and then a leader in the nation of Islam. He did not get treated very well during the time since it was during the time when white people did not like blacks, and black people did not like white people. He started to make money buy selling drugs to people which made him lots of money. After he was selling drugs he got setup and then got arrested by the police and went to prison for drugs and murder and was sentenced to death. On his last day in prison they asked him for a final meal and then got killed and died.

Many people were very upset after this day because people in the Muslim group loved him. They thought that Malcolm was a god. People said he was very polite and kind to everyone. A few days he after he got killed in prison people had a parade to remember his kind soul. He died at a young age of just 39 years old.
