Going down his memory lane, Caleb recounts his sweet childhood memories with his father, who showers him with all the love a father can give his son. He reflects on what a difficult and confusing journey it has been, growing up with parents who are separated. Finding his place among his peers proves to be harder than what he thought and coming to terms with his identity only becomes much harder.

With problems that are too heavy to bear, Caleb tries to find peace in different men around him that don't really care for his wellbeing. Navigating conflicts with oneself and others in isolation, he becomes depressed. But through self realisation and with the help of someone who is willing to listen to his thoughts, he tries to resolve all that once hurt him.

Attaboy speaks to those who have had a strained relationship with their parents. The fear that captures one when they feel all alone and the struggle of self acceptance speaks clearly through the author's accounts of his attempt to fit in, in his school life. But he does bring light into his life by working towards a healthier relationship with himself and his father, which really is helpful for those who feel alone and have little confidence in themselves.

There is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

Caleb Thornton's latest memoir Attaboy is worth reading. In this book, the author has shared about the painful experiences of his relationship with the other men. Whenever he tries to be nice with the other guy, it always backfires and makes him feel like a loser.

But whenever we get any negative feelings or are made to feel like a loser, the problem is not with us. It's with those who make us feel that way. We should surround ourselves with those who make us feel good about ourselves.

The guy named Mr Painter made Caleb felt good about himself. Such people should be kept close as they are the positivity we need in our life. I appreciate Mr Painter's kindness. He made me relate to my friend who always tells me that I could do better.

A well written memoir. Others should definitely read this book. I appreciate the author for sharing his feelings and admitting them publicly with his readers. After reading this memoir, I want to advice author to always be around people who pulls you up instead of spending time with those who pulls you down. I have learnt this lesson after losing all my peace but now I never let any negativity to surround me. Great memoir with which I could relate.

Recently I got my hands on Caleb Thornton's book "ATTABOY". This book is about the author's feelings towards his dad and the other men in his life. Like every kid, Caleb also wanted the attention of those he loves.

Until the age of six, things were fine and Caleb was happy to spend time with his father. He would lay on his chest and watch sci-fi movies. Caleb's mother being an attorney was quite busy at her job. His father was a car salesman and he used to work less as compared to his mom. When his parents' relationship was no longer smooth, it ended in divorce. Caleb could see his father on weekends but that distance also grew when another woman entered his father's life. It was great to see Caleb taking care of his father.

This book will take readers on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. It's painful to be ignored by the person whom you love. I could relate to that part of the story. I liked it when Caleb mentioned about letting go. If we don't get the love we deserve then we should let go of such people from our life. Read this book. You may be able to relate your life to some part of the story. It's an interesting read.

Attaboy written by the author Caleb Thornton is a short memoir in which the author is introducing himself to the readers. In his younger years, Caleb used to lay on his father's chest and watch sci-fi movies. His mother was busy with her job and couldn't give much time to Caleb. It was painful for him when his parents separated.

Caleb's dad was his lifeline. With his dad away from him and seeing his mom fighting with his step-dad, Caleb found life as difficult and it was clearly reflecting in his grades. Caleb has mentioned his attachment issues. I guess if someone shows attention to us, we also get attached. Love and attention is what we all crave for. Later, we find Caleb taking care of his father.

This short story has some important life lessons which would be helpful to the readers. The cover photo is nice. The title of the book is well selected. The author has used lucid language in this book. I enjoyed every bit of this book. Caleb has done fantastic work in this memoir. It would be great to read more memoirs by him as I am really interested in knowing more about the author.

ATTABOY

Review:
ATTABOY is an intriguing memoir of the author Caleb Thornton. In his early years, Caleb had a nice relationship with his father. When his parents were divorced, Caleb was happy that at least he could see his father on weekends. His father also was happy to see him but there came a point in his life when his fathers' visit to him stopped.

Caleb was tired of the hateful look that was in the eyes of the guy he loved. Mr Avoidant was his confidence. He was what Caleb needed to get out of his depression. But Mr Avoidant was pretty good at avoiding and he behaved like Caleb wasn't even in front of him. There are other guys as well in the story.

Pick a copy of this book to know more about the guys in Caleb's life. By reading this book, I realized that we shouldn't let our confidence depend on how someone is making us feel. We should know our worth and shouldn't let anyone treat us badly. The writing style of the author is fantastic. The narration is smooth and strong. It's a great story about the men in Caleb's life. Glad to read it.

Review:
ATTABOY is a short memoir that gives us the overview of the author's relationship with his father and the other men in his life. While Caleb's mom was busy at work, his father bonded with him by spending time with him. Caleb's father never expected him to be tough. Caleb could always be himself around his dad and that means a lot to anyone.

His father makes him feel like a prince. When his father was suffering from a hernia, all Caleb wanted was his father's well-being. He played the role of a father for his dad and took good care of him.

If someone lets us be ourselves. Then, that person is a blessing in our life. Readers would enjoy reading about Mr Painter and his role in Caleb's life. I had a great time this weekend while reading this book. After reading this book, now I feel like I know the author closely. Great work done by the author in this memoir. Looking forward to reading more such memoirs by the author.

Calling all memoir lovers to get their hands on Caleb's latest book Attaboy. As the cover of the book warns, this book is for readers of age 18+.

The book begins with Caleb's parents and his relationship with them. Caleb was closer to his dad. His dad let him be himself and that's what Caleb loved most about him. During the school years, other men came into Caleb's life. A guy Mr Avoidant broke his heart at the time when Caleb didn't even know that things like heartbreak exist.

Who is Mr Painter? His genuineness and the way he made Caleb feel welcomed is something great. People who make others feel welcomed are rare and should be kept close. Through this book, I got to know about so many men in Caleb's life. I am curious to know more about his life. The author hasn't hesitated to share about his life in this book. I am happy to get a sneak peek into his life through this book. I learnt that we should be with those who let us be ourselves.

If you are a fan of memoirs then add this to your tbr. You would be delighted to read it.

BOOK REVIEW: Attaboy

Attaboy is an interesting memoir written by the author Caleb Thornton. It is a short read that one could finish in a single sitting. Through this book, you would get to know more and more about Caleb's life as a kid.

Caleb always felt close to his father because his father spoiled him with love and stuff he wanted as a kid. Since his mother used to stay busy at work, Caleb's bonding with her wasn't as strong as it was with his father. When he was in eighth grade, he had his first heartbreak by Mr Avoidant. Caleb has shared about other guys as well and how they made him feel.

This book is worth reading. The author has used lucid language in this book. I am glad to know about Caleb's childhood days and his teen life. It was nice to see Caleb's care towards his father. This story is a true account of the author's life. The title of the book is appropriate.

Attaboy
By
Caleb Thornton

Review:
The author Caleb Thornton has come up with a memoir named ATTABOY. This memoir is for adult readers because of the use of the adult language in the book.

The book is about the author himself. Caleb is the son of a religious mother and therefore he was named after a man in the Bible. Caleb's dad made him a spoiled brat. His father has never pressured him to hide his feelings as a young boy. At school, Caleb was picked on by other students and they used to make fun of his clothes and also call him gay.

When Caleb was being avoided by Mr Avoidant, he began to lose himself as he couldn't understand how he lost him. This is a fantastic book. The cover photo of the book is nice. It is a short read. The language used in the book is mature so this book is for adult readers. The writing style is amazing with a smooth narration. Go ahead with this book if you love reading memoirs.

Attaboy is the honest account of Caleb Thornton's journey. Caleb had a loving relationship with his father while growing up. His father kept him close to himself. Caleb's mother was always busy. When their parents separated, his father left but he was allowed to visit Caleb on weekends.

In his school days, Caleb came in contact with different men. Some of them gave him pain from which he is still healing. All the guys are not bad. That became true when Caleb met Mr Painter who encouraged Caleb and allowed him to spend time with his family and him.

I was glad to read about Mr Painter. Caleb should step out more often so he could find friends like Mr Painter. After reading Caleb's story, I realized that we should have high self-esteem and it's better to be alone rather than being with those who treat us wrongly. Caleb's story inspired me to be around right people and have high self-esteem. Don't miss reading this memoir

I am a die hard fan of memoirs. This time, I got my hands on Caleb Thornton's first memoir Attaboy. In this memoir, Caleb has shared his feelings about his dad and the other men in his life.

Caleb has always felt protected with his father. However, things changed when his parents divorced. With time, Caleb's father's visit to him stopped. Caleb used to blame him when his father stopped visiting him. At school, he didn't have any friends. The guy he liked carried a strong hatred in his eyes for him.

Will Caleb meet the man who made him feel loved, wanted? Find yourself by reading this memoir. It's a fast paced read and you won't be bored anytime while reading it. I have read many books by Caleb and I appreciate his writing style. It would be interesting to read more memoirs by the author so we could know about other areas of his life as well.
