I've had to admit defeat with this one, which is something I don't often do.
I can see what a useful book it is on an obscure period of Scottish history, and some of the stories about the kings and the Celtic saints who supported them (chiefly Columba) are fascinating, but in the end I just got bogged down among all the unfamiliar names.
